Kiss EverEZLashes Review

I received these lashes complimentary from Influenster and while I am a regular user of Kiss lashes, this new way of putting them on was something I had never tried before.

These EverEZlashes come with applicator strings, which are there to hold onto in order to get a more accurate position for your lashes. They are apparently "5x faster and easier" to apply.

Once out of the package, I noticed that they are the exact same lashes as the regular kiss lashes of that corresponding number. The only difference is the applicator stings on either side of each lash. I did not use the glue that came in the Kiss lashes package, but my Duo adhesive. As a regular false lash user, I found that the strings made it a bit more difficult to place the lashes, as I usually place them on with one hand and then push each side down individually. It was not only difficult for me to place the lashes, but also to pull the strings out once they were on. Pulling the strings tugged at my eye lid and was a bit uncomfortable. All in all it took me LONGER to apply these lashes than a pair of regular ones.

The strings are a one-time thing. Once you pull them out, you have a pair of regular lashes. If you want to reuse these, you will have to put them on normally, so I don't really see a point to the strings unless you have never used false lashes before and you have the intention of only wearing them once.

If you are brand new to wearing false lashes, I DO think that these may make it easier for you to apply them. If you are only interested in wearing false lashes for an event or a party, then these may be a good choice for you. If you are interested in wearing lashes daily/often, I suggest you get regular lashes and practice placing them on your eye. You'll save money by only buying a couple of pairs and reusing them, and you'll be adept at placing lashes without the applicator strings. If you are a pro at putting on false lashes, this will most likely only hinder you, and I'd skip these all together.

Influenster Bride-to-Be Voxbox 2012

I'm still coming down from the excitement from my last Influenster box, but here comes my next one! Most of my experience with Influenster left me under the impression that it wasn't possible to qualify for two boxes in a row, but it appears as if I have! As soon as I was done doing all the challenges they had on their website for the Naturals Voxbox, I was being sent this brand new box of goodies to review!

First off, the box overall is going to get a solid B rating from me. Before testing all the products, I was really impressed and excited to receive full sized hair care products. I have been messing around a lot with my hair lately (an unfortunate bleaching incident left it in horrible condition) and have been looking for some good hair products. Aside from the Kiss lashes, which are my daily use lashes anyway, (so that was a bonus!) the products all have to do with stress relief and relaxation, which I'm pretty sure everyone needs, including brides! The reason why I decided to give it a B rating rather than an A, is because of the Ivydate membership that I will review later on, as well as the lack of cohesiveness as a "bride" box. All the products could be used and reviewed by brides-to-be for sure, but anyone else could have easily reviewed this box whether or not they were getting married. I was expecting the hair care products and the eyelashes, but I think some kind of cosmetic was needed in this box and in place of the ivydate card, something more up the alley of bridal like a coupon for a bridal website or something along those lines. But let's get into the reviews of each product!

1. Schwarzkopf Professional BC Hairtherapy Repair Rescue Shampoo

This shampoo, like the conditioner, has a light "beauty shop" scent to it that I find lovely, but it might not be for everyone. It's a liquid-y formula but it goes on lightly and makes it so my hair does not feel weighted down. Along with the conditioner, this product gave my frizzy hair a smooth, shiny finish that lasted all day, even through humidity. It may not work as well for all types of hair, but for dry, damaged, chemically treated hair, this stuff will change the life of your hair! It did for mine!

2. Schwarzkopf Professional BC Hairtherapy Repair Rescue Conditioner

I have spent months trying to get my hair back to normal from a bleaching incident gone horribly wrong, and have tried every product out there. This conditioner literally saved my hair. It's softer, smoother and shinier. The frizz is gone. The dead look is gone. And I've only used it a few times so far! While it does seem to have a lot of chemicals in it, my hair has never been sensitive to those things. Natural hair products don't tend to work as well for my hair issues. This stuff is expensive but I have yet to find anything that comes close to how well it works!

3.Schwarzkopf Professional BC Hairtherapy Repair Rescue Sealed Ends

I have some pretty wild hair problems. My hair is naturally wavy and blonde. I've dyed it dark for years and decided to try to bleach it lighter. Big Mistake. My hair was ruined. Completely dead and frizzy. This product (along with the shampoo/conditioner) has completely changed my hair. In just a few days of using this product the ends of my hair are smooth and not fried-looking. I also smooth some through the rest of my hair and it keeps the frizz away all day. This product is pricey, but it is worth every penny for the amazing results!

4. Kiss everEZlashes

While I absolutely love Kiss lashes, and they are the brand I use every day, I am not a huge fan of the strings. For those of us who are adept at putting on fake lashes, the strings seem to make things more complicated. It actually look me LONGER to apply them with the strings than without, and I don't see the point in the strings when once they are pulled off they can't be used again. Kiss Lashes are quality, reusable lashes that look super natural and lovely, but the strings attached to these particular ones are no necessary. Your best bet is to buy a few pairs of cheap lashes and practice putting them on until you get the hang of it. Then buy Kiss lashes without the strings and save a bit of money and time!

5.Rescue Remedy Natural Stress Relief Gum

I am one big ball of stress during the day. By the time I get home I find it hard to wind down and relax. I tried Rescue Gum right after a long day and I truly felt more calm and relaxed. The flavor disappears almost as soon as you begin to chew it, but I reminded myself this isn't a gum made for flavor, and I chewed it for upwards of 10 minutes before spitting it out and I continued to feel the effects long after that. I will definitely be purchasing this product again and keeping it with me for those stressful moments!

6. Dream Water Natural Sleep Aid

I can NEVER sleep at night, probably due to the fact that I'm on the computer all day, but this product really works for me. The Snoozeberry flavor is my favorite, but it can be a little gross if it's room temperature. Make SURE you put it in the fridge and it will taste yummy and refreshing. It makes me slowly get sleepy but not exhausted. I usually take this about 30 minutes before bed and it truly does help me fall asleep easily and wake up without feeling groggy. Love it!

7. IvyDate Online Introduction Service

Ok, so I'm sure you're wondering why Influenster added a free membership to a dating site in a bride-to-be box. Well, the idea behind this was that we were to pass it along to one of our friends or bridesmaids so that they might also get lucky in love. So I did just that and passed it on to a friend of mine. If you look at the description of the site, you'll see that it's a website for people that are "outstanding" aka elitist jerks. IvyDate is named because they say that many of their members went to ivy league schools and that they have a "respect for excellence." WTF is this crap? Sorry, none of my friends are Ivy League, and they're all down-to-earth, relaxed people. My friend had NO interest in meeting a bunch of rich, stuck up jerks. Not to mention they have to approve you first. It's such an elitist, uppity idea that I can't imagine why Influenster would put this in the box. My friend was really disappointed as was I.

So aside from the weird dating site, this box was absolutely awesome! Not ONE product was disappointing, and I feel that all brides could get wonderful use out of these products on their wedding day or even while planning their wedding. My favorite product in the whole bunch was the Schwarzkopf split ends treatment, and I will definitely repurchase that without question! It is about $20-$25 for only 2oz, but you need an incredibly small amount to really do wonders, and it seems like it will last me a few months. Very impressed with this box overall and I'm excited to see what Influenster has in store for us next!

Influenster Naturals Vox Box 2012

A good way to start off this blog is with my recent Influenster Vox Box!

What is Influenster, you ask?
It's a website/program where you join for free, and answer questions and short surveys about yourself to unlock badges. Depending on your participation on the website and other social media outlets, Influenster chooses members with corresponding badges to participate in receiving a "Vox Box" which is essentially a box of samples that are sent to you at not cost so that you, the consumer, can test, review, and share your thoughts on each product with the internet world!

Sound cool? Sign up at http://www.influenster.com and maybe you'll qualify for their next box!

Now on to the goodies that were in my most recent box, the 2012 Naturals Vox Box. What did I think of all of them? Some were excellent! Some, not so much.

Here is everything in all of it's glory! I have spent the last week or so carefully testing each product so I can give my honest reviews about them. I was not paid to review these products although I received them complements of Influenster. Let's get started!

1. Lypsyl Lyp Moisturizer
Right when I tore the Vox Box open, I was immediately drawn to this product. I have an obsession with lip products, and for some reason have a tendency toward chapped lips, so this came out of the package and onto my lips almost as soon as I pulled it out. It has a very gentle menthol scent and is very cooling and soothing to the lips. The ingredients are all natural (hence being in the natural vox box!) and truly left my lips feeling soft and smooth. This is one of those things I will definitely repurchase once it's gone!

2. Shea Moisture Organic Raw Shea Butter Baby Eczema Bar Soap

Now I am not usually one for bar soaps, but it's my job to test out everything in the box, so I went for it! This particular bar is organic and contains shea butter, argan oil and extracts of Frankincense and Myrrh. It does not have a strong scent at all, but it's quite pleasant and natural-smelling. I applied the soap while in the shower and it did not irritate my skin at all. I have very sensitive skin so I'm always worried when using a new wash product. The only issue I have with most bar soaps is that they leave that "squeaky" feeling on your body, which is really just soap residue. This soap, unfortunately was no exception. Other than the "squeaky" feeling, my skin felt very soft and nourished. It is a bar safe for babies, but anyone can use it! I definitely recommend this product to anyone looking for bar soap that will not be irritating to sensitive skin.

3. GeoDeo Deodorant

Let me start this review off by saying this scent is called Island. It smells SO good that I literally could not stop smelling it. It reminds me of an orchard full of fresh, tropical fruits. Such a delightful scent. I haven't had much luck with natural deodorants in the past, but this smelled SO good, I couldn't wait to get it on my armpits! I love the fact that it's 97% natural, fights impurity buildup on your armpits and I love the scent. I, however, tend to sweat a lot and it's been hot lately! I did notice that I had to re-apply this deodorant multiple times a day in order to keep myself from getting stinky, but it DOES work. This is the kind of deodorant that if you are intent on getting something natural, and you don't mind keeping it in your purse to re-apply throughout the day, this is the one. It really does keep you dry and fresh for at least a few hours at a time. Maybe not the best thing to wear if you're at work and can't apply it over and over, but to take it on vacation with you or wearing it around the house is a perfect way to supplement the not-so-natural deodorants out there!

4. The Original Dish Drying Mat

As the products start to lean away from "health and beauty" and into "lifestyle" products, in comes the Dish Drying Mat. This is the perfect thing for my apartment. Why? Because we have a HUGE drying rack that takes up half of the counter space in our little kitchen. Because sometimes we have parties and dirty up WAY too many dishes and start to run out of room on the drying rack. Enter the Dish Drying Mat. This little guy holds 4x it's weight in water and can be folded up and stored away very easily, unlike a typical drying mat. It's great for big pots and pans that take up too much room in your drying rack, or for delicate glassware that you do not want to damage. It's washable, eco-friendly and definitely worth the price for $5.

5. E-Boost Daily Health Booster

E-Boost is a powder product that is stirred into water to make a natural energy/health boost beverage. This particular flavor is said to give energy, immunity, recovery and focus. Now I'm not a fan of these types of drinks so I gave this one to my boyfriend to test out. His first reaction was not a good one. He absolutely hated the flavor. He described it as tasting like sour tang with no sweetness. However, he claimed that some people may enjoy the flavor. Regardless he chugged down the drink and at the end of the night concluded that he did actually notice a difference in energy. While it didn't make him "wired" as a coffee might, he did feel a boost of awareness and stayed up later than he usually does without getting tired. So...does it taste good? not really. Does it give you a natural boost of energy? Survey/boyfriend says yes!

6. Cleanwell Natural Hand Sanitizing Wipes

These little packet wipes are perfect for those of you who love hand sanitizers on the go, but hate the chemicals that go along with them. These little guys contain no harsh chemicals and are great for kids and adults alike. Not much to say about hand sanitizers other than these smell delightful, are all natural, and contain no alcohol so your hands are not drying out with multiple uses. These are perfect to put in kids lunch boxes, in the car, in your purse, or wherever else you may need them.

6. Nectresse No Calorie Natural Sweetener

This is another version of "Truvia" which are the "natural" no calorie sweeteners that are trying to take the place of the more iffy versions like Splenda, Equal and Sweet N' Lo. I am a pure sugar girl myself, although I'm always up for giving these a go. Nectresse tastes a lot like Truvia in the sense that it does not taste like sugar. It makes whatever you're drinking/eating sweeter, but does not have the same flavor as sugar and has a rather strange aftertaste. If you are in the market for a natural sweetener, I think you will be pleased with Nectresse because I can see it being something you can get used to over time. I only wish they had given us more than a single packet sample so that I might be able to give a further review.

So there you have it! All the products I received in my 2012 Naturals Vox Box from Influenster. Really impressed with a lot of these products and hope I've helped decide whether or not you'd like to try them for yourself. Dont' forget to stop by Influenster's website and sign up for yourself!
