Influenster Naturals Vox Box 2012

A good way to start off this blog is with my recent Influenster Vox Box!

What is Influenster, you ask?
It's a website/program where you join for free, and answer questions and short surveys about yourself to unlock badges. Depending on your participation on the website and other social media outlets, Influenster chooses members with corresponding badges to participate in receiving a "Vox Box" which is essentially a box of samples that are sent to you at not cost so that you, the consumer, can test, review, and share your thoughts on each product with the internet world!

Sound cool? Sign up at http://www.influenster.com and maybe you'll qualify for their next box!

Now on to the goodies that were in my most recent box, the 2012 Naturals Vox Box. What did I think of all of them? Some were excellent! Some, not so much.

Here is everything in all of it's glory! I have spent the last week or so carefully testing each product so I can give my honest reviews about them. I was not paid to review these products although I received them complements of Influenster. Let's get started!

1. Lypsyl Lyp Moisturizer
Right when I tore the Vox Box open, I was immediately drawn to this product. I have an obsession with lip products, and for some reason have a tendency toward chapped lips, so this came out of the package and onto my lips almost as soon as I pulled it out. It has a very gentle menthol scent and is very cooling and soothing to the lips. The ingredients are all natural (hence being in the natural vox box!) and truly left my lips feeling soft and smooth. This is one of those things I will definitely repurchase once it's gone!

2. Shea Moisture Organic Raw Shea Butter Baby Eczema Bar Soap

Now I am not usually one for bar soaps, but it's my job to test out everything in the box, so I went for it! This particular bar is organic and contains shea butter, argan oil and extracts of Frankincense and Myrrh. It does not have a strong scent at all, but it's quite pleasant and natural-smelling. I applied the soap while in the shower and it did not irritate my skin at all. I have very sensitive skin so I'm always worried when using a new wash product. The only issue I have with most bar soaps is that they leave that "squeaky" feeling on your body, which is really just soap residue. This soap, unfortunately was no exception. Other than the "squeaky" feeling, my skin felt very soft and nourished. It is a bar safe for babies, but anyone can use it! I definitely recommend this product to anyone looking for bar soap that will not be irritating to sensitive skin.

3. GeoDeo Deodorant

Let me start this review off by saying this scent is called Island. It smells SO good that I literally could not stop smelling it. It reminds me of an orchard full of fresh, tropical fruits. Such a delightful scent. I haven't had much luck with natural deodorants in the past, but this smelled SO good, I couldn't wait to get it on my armpits! I love the fact that it's 97% natural, fights impurity buildup on your armpits and I love the scent. I, however, tend to sweat a lot and it's been hot lately! I did notice that I had to re-apply this deodorant multiple times a day in order to keep myself from getting stinky, but it DOES work. This is the kind of deodorant that if you are intent on getting something natural, and you don't mind keeping it in your purse to re-apply throughout the day, this is the one. It really does keep you dry and fresh for at least a few hours at a time. Maybe not the best thing to wear if you're at work and can't apply it over and over, but to take it on vacation with you or wearing it around the house is a perfect way to supplement the not-so-natural deodorants out there!

4. The Original Dish Drying Mat

As the products start to lean away from "health and beauty" and into "lifestyle" products, in comes the Dish Drying Mat. This is the perfect thing for my apartment. Why? Because we have a HUGE drying rack that takes up half of the counter space in our little kitchen. Because sometimes we have parties and dirty up WAY too many dishes and start to run out of room on the drying rack. Enter the Dish Drying Mat. This little guy holds 4x it's weight in water and can be folded up and stored away very easily, unlike a typical drying mat. It's great for big pots and pans that take up too much room in your drying rack, or for delicate glassware that you do not want to damage. It's washable, eco-friendly and definitely worth the price for $5.

5. E-Boost Daily Health Booster

E-Boost is a powder product that is stirred into water to make a natural energy/health boost beverage. This particular flavor is said to give energy, immunity, recovery and focus. Now I'm not a fan of these types of drinks so I gave this one to my boyfriend to test out. His first reaction was not a good one. He absolutely hated the flavor. He described it as tasting like sour tang with no sweetness. However, he claimed that some people may enjoy the flavor. Regardless he chugged down the drink and at the end of the night concluded that he did actually notice a difference in energy. While it didn't make him "wired" as a coffee might, he did feel a boost of awareness and stayed up later than he usually does without getting tired. So...does it taste good? not really. Does it give you a natural boost of energy? Survey/boyfriend says yes!

6. Cleanwell Natural Hand Sanitizing Wipes

These little packet wipes are perfect for those of you who love hand sanitizers on the go, but hate the chemicals that go along with them. These little guys contain no harsh chemicals and are great for kids and adults alike. Not much to say about hand sanitizers other than these smell delightful, are all natural, and contain no alcohol so your hands are not drying out with multiple uses. These are perfect to put in kids lunch boxes, in the car, in your purse, or wherever else you may need them.

6. Nectresse No Calorie Natural Sweetener

This is another version of "Truvia" which are the "natural" no calorie sweeteners that are trying to take the place of the more iffy versions like Splenda, Equal and Sweet N' Lo. I am a pure sugar girl myself, although I'm always up for giving these a go. Nectresse tastes a lot like Truvia in the sense that it does not taste like sugar. It makes whatever you're drinking/eating sweeter, but does not have the same flavor as sugar and has a rather strange aftertaste. If you are in the market for a natural sweetener, I think you will be pleased with Nectresse because I can see it being something you can get used to over time. I only wish they had given us more than a single packet sample so that I might be able to give a further review.

So there you have it! All the products I received in my 2012 Naturals Vox Box from Influenster. Really impressed with a lot of these products and hope I've helped decide whether or not you'd like to try them for yourself. Dont' forget to stop by Influenster's website and sign up for yourself!
