Memebox 3rd Global Edition Review (January 2014 미미박스)

I know, I know, I JUST did a review on the 2nd edition of Memebox and I'm already back with my 3rd edition review! The one I just posted was supposed to be posted last month, but as I explained, there was a massive back up of international packages, so the 2nd and 3rd edition arrived on my doorstep on the same day. I've had a bit of time to play with some of the products in both boxes and wanted to get this review out as soon as possible, as Memebox directly reported to me that this box, the 3rd Global Edition, is already almost sold out! If you are interested in getting this box you will want to grab one as soon as possible!

If you want more information on Memebox, please see my original review here: Memebox First Edition! Also feel free to check out what I received in my 2nd edition box here: Memebox 2nd Edition!

For a quick rundown of What Memebox is:

-Memebox ships  5-7 Korean beauty products that are deluxe samples or full size right to you, straight from Korea. The boxes are not currently customizable, but they try to compose boxes with a large variety!

-The cost of Memebox is $23+ with shipping being $6.99.

-Memebox is shipped directly from Korea and they work with over 400 different brands and companies!

-Memebox is not a continuous subscription, like Birchbox or Ipsy. You will have the option to buy each box every time it comes out, so there is no obligation to sign up for a monthly program. All you have to do to snag a new box is to register your e-mail on their website, and they will send out a message when a new box is available!

Now onto the 3rd Edition!

The 3rd Global Edition of Memebox has 8 products inside. 5 out of the 8 are full size products, which is an amazing value! This box was the lightest of the 3 I have received so far, but had the most products overall.

Here's the "first look" at the box once the tissue paper was pulled back!

At first glance, I noticed there was a nice variety in this months box, and what I was hoping for: more cosmetics! Of course Korean beauty is largely based on beautiful skin, but it's always nice to try out some korean cosmetics too! Onto the goodies!

1. Dear by Enprani: Bounce Cheese Cream
(Deluxe Sample 30ml / Full Size Product 40ml $29)

Don't let the weird name fool you into thinking this is some weird cheese product! This is a facial cream that has a unique bouncey texture to it (according to the company, "like mozzarella cheese") due to a high concentration of milk serum. Milk serum, also known as whey, is a good source of natural protein and that helps to deeply hydrate and firm your skin! This is to be applied to your face evenly after you cleanse and apply toner or serum. It has a light scent to it, leaning on the floral side. It doesn't smell like cheese like I thought it would, thankfully! It's a very pleasant scented, thick cream that feels extremely moisturizing!

2. Dr. Jart: V7 Eye Serum
(Full Size Product 15ml $38)

Thanks to Birchbox, Dr. Jart has become a pretty popular brand here in the US already! I'm really excited to try out this eye serum! It's contains 7 vitmains (A, B3, B5, C, E, H and F) which give intensive care to the sensitive contours of your eye. The vitamin complex brightens the skin and decreases puffiness around the eyes. To apply, you simply pat on a small amount under and around the contour of the eye with your ring finger, as it applies the least amount of pressure. Gently pat in until absorbed. Can't wait to see how this works on my nasty dark circles!

3. Tonymoly: Delight Tony Tint in "Apple Red"
(Deluxe Sample 1.5ml / Full Size Product 9ml $14)

This is another brand I'm quite familiar with, as I am quite fond of the Tonymoly skincare line. this sample is about the size of my pinky finger and is super cute and compact. I have never tried this lip tint before, but doing so made me realize this is much more of a stain than a "tint" as they call it. It's a blood-red shade and has a watery consistency similar to The Balm's "Stainiac." Here's the quick swatch I did on the back of my hand:

This dries down to a stain and really will stain your skin and lips, so I am also assuming it will do the same on clothing, so make sure to be careful when applying this product. Once this dries, have fun rubbing it off. It's been a few hours since I did this swatch and it's still there on my hand and looks as intense as it did when I first applied it. I am in love with the shade and the quality of this product. I think it would perfect to wear alone or even better under a red lipstick.

4. Banila Co. It Radiant Brightening Cream
Banila Co. It Radiant CC Cream
Banila Co. It Radiant CC in Melting Pact

This is a great collection of deluxe samples of 3 different products by Banila Co. in their "It Radiant" line. All of these samples came in vinyl travel bag. According to Memebox, it's a perfect routine to create radiant skin with a dewy glow. The brightening cream (in the foil packets) is supposed to hydrate the skin and even out the skins texture. The CC cream naturally covers the skins complexion and the CC in melting pact will give a perfect finish. To use, you simply apply the brightening cream on your face, then the cc cream, and then top it off with the melting pact. The melting pact is the biggest mystery of this set as it appears to be a cream based concealer-type product with a small sponge applicator. Not sure if I'd want something like that all over my face, but it's worth a shot!

5. Aritaum: The Professional Eyelash #10 "Baby Cat"
(Full Size Product 1 pair $3)

I think most people either love or hate false lashes. I for one, love them. I don't get to use them as often as I'd like, mostly because I'm lazy! But I think the right pair of lashes can really glam up a makeup look. These lashes are very lovely as they are tapered a bit and wing out on the edges, giving that demi-wispy look. Lashes are an incredibly popular cosmetic item in Korea, so I expected to eventually get a pair! I'm very excited to use these as they look long, yet wearable.

6. Secret Key: Twinkle Waterproof Gel Pencil Liner in "Deep Black"
(Full Size Product 1.2g $8)

This is a full size gel liner from the company "Secret Kiss" who I have heard of, but never tried anything from. This is a "twinkle" gel pencil and get's it name because it appears to have bit of shimmer in it when swatched.

The shimmer is subtle and not noticeable in the swatch, however it appears to be a silver micro-glitter. This liner has a gel texture which allows you to draw precise lines easily. I find it glides on with ease and it has very nice pigmentation. It is waterproof, although I noticed the swatch on my hand slowly faded over a few hours time. I think this is a nice pencil, although I don't think it's anything too different from what I already have.

7. Nuganic: Customized Sunblock Fresh SPF 50
(Full Size Product 40ml $45)

Most people forget that you need an SPF on your skin year round, especially the skin on your face. This product is 3-in-1 sun protection with brightening and anti-wrinkle properties. The consistency is creamy, but lightweight and absorbs nicely without feeling greasy. It claims to enhance your complexion and firm your skin, but after only one use I did not notice much of a difference. It feels nice and doesn't have a strong scent. We'll see if I see any changes with repeated use!

8. Papa Recipe: Princess Lip Gel Patch
( Full Size Product 1ea $3)

I thought this was definitely the most interesting item in the box! Korea is known for their kooky and different beauty items, and it was one of the first places to start doing gel and paper masks. this product is a gel masks made specifically for your lips. It's basically a jelly-like, slimy pair of lips that you place over your own lips and gently pat down to hold it in place. This was a very heavy gel, so it did slide down my lips a bit when I first attempted to apply it. Eventually it stayed in place. If you're having trouble keeping it on your lips, I would suggest laying down and leaving it on your lips for 10-20 minutes as the label suggests. This "patch" is supposed to hydrate and nourish your lips as well as prep them for makeup. Once the patch has been on your lips for 10-12 minutes, you remove and discard the patch, and pat the lips gently to help absorption. I did not think this really did anything for my lips, but they did feel nicely hydrated. I just think I prefer a lip balm over a huge, slimy, lip-shaped gel pad!

The total value of this box is yet again $125, and possibly more considering there is no prices listed for the Banila Co. samples. Memebox is an incredible deal at $21 when you get a box that is worth 5x the price you paid for it!

Here's the whole box:
