Memebox Milk Edition

OK, I have to admit- it feels like it's been FOREVER since I've updated! I have been so busy recovering from surgery...I honestly had no idea how much a surgical procedure can take out of you! I'm still getting back into the swing of things in my day-to-day life, but I have been getting lots of subscription boxes as well as some new summery products and I absolutely have to stop sleeping so much and start getting these reviews up! I need to hire a personal assistant to kick my butt into gear.

Memebox recently came out with a slew of really interesting boxes, and of course I couldn't resist getting them all so I could review them. The Milk box was one that I wasn't as excited for, but I've got to say, it's turned out to be one that I was quite pleased with! The Milk box contains products with milk ingredients which are helpful for making your skin radiant. Milk has healing properties that repairs sun damaged skin, prevents premature aging, and also provides abundant nutrients for a more youthful look.

There are 7 items in the box and ALL of them are full sized! I think that's pretty impressive in itself, even if some of the items are one-time use.

 1. Pure Smile Choosy Lip Pack in "Milk Tea"
(Full Size Product: $1)
OK, so while this may be a $1 one-time-use item, I still think it's awesome! I have used lip patches before, and sometimes they work well, and other times I don't feel like they've done anything. They are basically little lip-shaped jelly masks that you place on your lips and leave there for 15-30 minutes. They're like sheet masks for your mouth! This one has milk protein extracts that strengthen the moisture level and reviving the "glow" of your lips. I haven't slapped this one on yet, but I'm excited to!

 2. Pure Smile Milk Mask Pack
(Full Size Product $1)
This is another Pure Smile product, and another $1 one-time-use item. I'm totally fine with this, because it's a sheet mask! I'm obsessed with sheet masks, as some of you know, and this one contains hydrating milk proteins, hyaluronic acid, vitamin E and collagen. Sign me up! I have a few other sheet masks I want to try before I use this one, but this will without a doubt be used within the week!

 3. Hello Everybody Bubble Bath Steam Milk
(Full Size Product: $4)
I found it a bit odd that this was a full size product. Do they not carry this in a larger container? Maybe they only sell it in packets, but either way, I'll be passing this to my fiance. It has a light vanilla fragrance and is a fun bubble bath that contains almond oil and chamomile to help soften and nourish skin. I'm kind of skeeved out by the idea of's a weird thing about me. I hate the thought of laying in a tub of my own dirt. Even if I shower before a bath, it still feels gross just sitting in a bunch of water. I know-I'm insane, but my fiance loves baths, so like I said, this is will be a nice gift for him!

4. Enesti Rice & Milk Foaming Cleanser
(Full Size Product: $15)
There's something about this product that made me super excited when I saw it! I really love cleansers and this looks like a nice, gentle one. It's actually very thick and creamy and is scented lightly. The best way I can describe the scent is that it smells like baby shampoo or something. Super fresh and calming. This cleanser is made from hot-spring water and contains milk and rice extracts, which help clean deep into pores yet also moisturizes. That's exactly the kind of cleanser I need, so I'll probably try this one out as soon as my current cleanser is gone.

5. Pure Smile Choosy Lip Scrub in "Chamomile Milk"
(Full Size Product $11)
This is the 3rd product in this box from Pure Smile. Maybe they make a lot of milk-based products? Who knows, but it did leave me wishing (just a little bit!) that there was a bit more brand variety. Either way, this is a lip scrub. It does feel a bit different than the scrubs I'm used to. It looks and feels like a lip balm with exfoliating scrubbies mixed within it. I think I'll need to use a spatula of some kind to remove the scrub since it's hard like a balm. Haven't really dug into this yet, but I use lip scrubs every other day, so it'll definitely get used at some point!

 6. Skin Ceramic Donkey Milk and Argan Oil Steam Cream
(Full Size Product $34)
This was another product I was excited to see right off the bat. It is packaged really well and looks high quality, so that drew me in at first. Even better when I read the card and saw that this cream has no preservatives, or artificial fragrance and coloring. it's 100% organic argan oil and natural donkey milk, and provides intense hydration and nutrition for the skin. It also claims to absorb quickly. This cream is to be used at the end of a skincare routine, simply applied as a moisturizer. I couldn't help but be a little disappointed- I mean, the stuff is called "steam cream" and all it really does is act as a moisturizer? Womp. Even so, It is practically unscented, seems to absorb well, and I am always down for that!

7. Hello Everybody Nature Holic Body Lotion Milk
(Full Size Product $25)
This lotion is all natural and made from organic goat milk and is gentle, moisturizing and fast-absorbing. It's got all kinds of other fancies in it like aloe vera, honey, lemon balm, and mint extracts. Personally, it feels like a pretty basic lotion to me. It has a thin consistency and absorbs very quickly, which could be a bonus for some people, but I personally like a thicker, more moisturizing-feel to my lotions. Plus the scent of this lotion reminds me of laundry detergent...which is definitely not something I'm into. I'll be passing this on to someone who is more into florals and likes fast-absorbing lotions!

Memebox Milk Edition cost $23 plus $6.99 shipping, and contained $91 worth of product.
Even though there was some overlap in brands (2 Hello Everybody products and 3 Pure Smile products) I still think this was a winner for Memebox. There was a wide variety of products, and everything seems like it's good quality. I haven't had too much luck being blown away by my Memeboxes lately, so this was such a pleasant surprise! While it's not my favorite box, I think if you bought this hoping for lots of milk-based goodness, they definitely delivered and then some.

  1. "Laundry detergent" is a good description for the lotion. I agree that wasn't the highlight of the box ... I like thick lotions too! It's not that bad though. I may give it to my mom, I have a feeling she'd like it.

    1. haha I'm giving it to my mom too! She like fast absorbing lotions so I think it'll be right up her alley!

  2. I wanted to get this box but I didn't know if it would cause me to break out or not. :/

    1. ohh no are you allergic to milk, Fellica? It's a good choice to stay away from certain boxes if you think they'll break you out, for sure!

    2. I tried a cleanser that had milk proteins in it and I remember I broke out because of it. I know, I'm not allergic to milk but had bad experience with milk products haha XD Although, the box tempted me but I don't want to risk it.

  3. GREAT review, Rachel. :) I wish I had gotten this box and the Honey box.

I just received my first Memebox yesterday- the Luckybox 6. I am so surprised by what they sell for $25-30. One full sized product should cost that much.. Most of the things do not seem to be drugstore type products either. It's a tremendous value.

I also got my Beauteque prize today. Again, thank you for telling your readers about that. :)
Can you tell me how a " Water Pack" moisturizing gel is supposed to be used? I went to their website to read up, but it's sold out. I just cleansed my face and applied it and let it soak into my pores. Not sure if I need a thicker night cream on top or not. I have dry skin.

    1. Thanks Amanda! :D

I've got to say the Luckyboxes are AWESOME! If you're new to Memeboxes, they are definitely the best route to go! I exclusively buy the boxes that are $23 and under. I don't buy the super boxes or the more expensive ones because I find that I am usually more disappointed with them! Not sure why, but I have better luck with the Global boxes and special boxes like this Milk Edition.

SO happy that someone that reads my blog won the Beauteque prize pack! That is so awesome! If you're referring to the Lioele Water Drop Sleeping Pack, I usually put that on generously right before bed. It's supposed to keep your skin moisturized while you sleep. :) I don't have dry skin (I have combo) so it works wonders for me! I usually use it as the very last step in my nighttime skincare routine. :)

  4. Thanks for the instructions, Rachel. :) I think I need a heavier night cream on top of the Lioele Water Drop Sleeping Pack. The gel feels really good but is about the right consistency for a day moisturizer for me. I live in a climate where there is virtually never any humidity during our waking hours. Plus, I have skin that is changing with age. Hate to say it. LOL.

I doubt I will ever spend $50 or so on any ONE Memebox as there are simply too many variables between " there" and " here" with the intercontinental shipping, and there's also the disappointment factor that you mention. I've seen it MANY times with the PSMH " special" boxes.. I won't order them for that reason. :)

I've dropped all but a very few of the best of my USA subs ( MyDNA, Orange Glad , From The Lab, Blush Mystery Bag, and the little Birchboxes and an Ipsy).
I probably cancelled $400 worth a month to get more Memeboxes, and just as you say, I'm going to carefully weigh which ones meet my needs and speak to my type of personality. I doubt the color cosmetics are for me, and I won't be getting any snail boxes either. I gag just thinking about it- We are all different, so no offense to the snail skin care lovers. I also know that with the large size of most of the products, I will reach the saturation point pretty quickly. When I get more than I need or can use, I just let it all sit in the cabinets, because it gets overwhelming. I am extremely organized and while Korean women may think that 10-12 products a day constitute " good" facial skin care, I know that for me, it's 3-4 top quality products. :). The difference MAY be in the quality of the ingredients of the moisturizers, for me.

I think you were INCREDIBLY strong and determined to have resisted a bite out of the treats in Orange Glad box. I was really worried when I read the title... I don't want you to get sick or have pain because of an off limit food product right now.
There will come a day when you are enjoying a small treat again, and hopefully, I will have banished sugar from my life by then. :)
