Kloverbox September 2014 Review and Coupon!

I got my very first subscription box in May of 2011. When I had first heard of the idea, I was so overwhelmed with excitement at the sheer thought of having a mystery box of beauty product sent to my door every month. While the first subscription I ever got was Birchbox, I always lusted after all of the "natural" and "eco" beauty boxes that were around back then. Some of them may still be around today, but I am always looking for new and exciting boxes that I haven't heard much about.

Kloverbox recently came on my radar, and it immediately made me think of those natural/organic boxes I used to want so badly years ago. I couldn't wait to learn more about Kloverbox and get my hands on the September Edition!

What is Kloverbox?
Kloverbox is a lifestyle subscription box that sends 6-8 natural and organic products  for you to fall in love with each month. This isn't a beauty subscription. Kloverbox sends products from all categories: beauty, health, food and home products, so you can incorporate more natural products into every aspect of your life!

How Does It Work?
Unlike a typical subscription box, Kloverbox does NOT automatically renew. I think this is fantastic, because you don't have to worry about being charged for more boxes than you want, or you could gift a subscription to a friend or family member and not have to stress about remembering to cancel once their gift is over. On the Kloverbox site, you can choose a 1, 3 or 6 month subscription. Once that subscription is over, you will not be billed again unless you're interested in picking up more boxes! The longer the subscription you choose, the more of a discount you get, which is also fantastic!

How Much?
A 1 month subscription to Kloverbox is $25, 3 month subscription is $71.25 ($23.75 per box) and a 6 month subscription is $135 ($22.50) per box.
Shipping is free, and I can tell you first hand that it was incredibly fast!

COUPON!
You can save even more money by using the code "HB25" at checkout to save 25% off your order! This code can be used on any subscription.
(This code would save you another $33.75 on a 6 month subscription, making each box only $16.88! That's over $8 in savings PER box!)

Kloverbox come with an info card that has a little note that is hand-signed by the Founder, Kelly Ross. The other side has all the details about each product that is in the box.

Inside along with all the goodies, was a stack of information on the products that were included in the box, as well as some awesome coupons and savings!

 1. Gurus Natural Rubber Sandals Coupon (Value $8.99)
While this isn't an actual product, it is listed on the info card as one of the items in the box this month. This coupon is for 30% off your own pair, and I actually think these are pretty cute! I have a wider foot, so I'd be a bit concerned about how the band would fit me, not to mention I think it's a bit too cold here in Massachusetts to be considering buying sandals. Even so, it's a generous coupon and a great company to support!

(Also: It seems like almost every product in Kloverbox also has an additional coupon code printed on the info card, so if you enjoy the product, you can save some money when you buy the full size!)

2. Molly's Suds: Laundry Powder (Value: $5.50)
This company uses the purest of ingredients to formulate this laundry powder, and there are no phosphates, sulphates, petrochemicals, carcinogens or known human toxins. Each packet does 2 standard loads, or 4 high efficiency loads, which is a pretty great amount for a sample packet! I have been loving the idea of natural laundry detergent and even have been researching how to make my own, so this is a great product for me!

3. Rustic Maka: Pachy Odor-Fighting Deodorant (Value: $3.58)
These little guys are samples of 2 different natural deodorants in the scents "calming fields" and "naughty butter." I have no idea what a naughty butter is, but apparently it's their unscented version. They come in little lip-balm sized containers, so I have no idea how easy/difficult it's going to be to apply these and test them out, but I'm down to try it! I haven't had the best of luck with natural deodorants, but I am always on the search for one that really works.

4. PuurBody: Handmade Vegan Soap in "Witches Brew" (Value: $1.10)
If this isn't the perfect scent for a Fall box, I don't know what is! I know not everyone is a fan of the Witches Brew scent and it's always so hard to describe, but to me it just smells like Fall and Halloween. Absolutely love this soap, but I know my Fiance is going to steal it because he loves soaps and Witches Brew even more than I do! This soap is vegan, and contains cosmetic grade charcoal. It's also safe to use on your face, which is pretty cool!

 5. Mineral Hygienics: Blush in "Bliss" (Value $18)
This is a long-lasting 100% mineral blush, and it's absolutely gorgeous! It feels so soft and smooth when applying, and really blends like a dream. It reminds me of a more subtle version of the famous NARS Orgasm blush. It's bronzey, but has a really pretty peach undertone with some subtle golden shimmer. I really love this blush and can't wait to use it!

6. Waxelene Petroleum Jelly Alternative (Value: $4)
Petroleum jelly kind of grosses me out, and always has since I was a kid. My mom seemingly used it for everything, and to me it just looked like clear Crisco. No thanks. Waxelene is an alternative to petroleum jelly and only contains organic soy oil, beeswax, vitamin E oil and organic rosemary oil. There was a card in the box that listed 100 different ways to use this product and I was pretty impressed! It not only has beauty/skincare uses, but can also be used in your hair or for household uses as well. I love multi-use products, so I'll definitely be using this up!

7. Lotus Wei: Infinite Love Serum (Value: $10)
I thought this brand was pretty cool the moment I pulled out the info card. You unfold it, and says to pick a flower that visually appeals to you, and then you find the corresponding number inside the booklet to see which line of products you would benefit from the most. Each line has a serum, mist and elixir. Seems kind of hokey, but I love stuff like this! While I was drawn to flower #2 (Inner Peace), I received a sample of the Infinite Love Serum. This line is supposed to enhance and attract love, as well as kindness to yourself. Aww! The serum is applied to clean face and neck morning and night. You can also apply it to your stomach and the bottoms of your feet for a more restful sleep.
I can imagine this stuff is expensive if the sample serum is worth $10, but I am such a dork that I am already sold on these and want to try out more of the other products!

8. Pure Organic Cherry Cashew Bar (Value: $2)
This must have been a little added extra, as there was no description of this product on the info card. I eat a very low carb/high protein diet, so I love getting protein bars in subscription boxes. Even more- I love cherries and cashews, so I ate the heck out of this and loved every bite!

Overall Thoughts
The September Kloverbox on it's own costs $25 (less if you have a 3 or 6 month subscription) and the approximate value is about $44. If you include the 30% off Guru's sandals coupon (valued at $8.99) the total bumps up to about $53. For a small, up-and-coming subscription box, I think that is an absolutely fantastic value! There was a great selection of products in this box from food, to home, to beauty. All the products are useful to me, but still new and make me excited to try them out. I love that there is also a bunch of coupon codes and deals for almost all the products in the box as well.
I think Kloverbox is doing a great job bringing an affordable, natural subscription box to the public. A subscription like this would be a great way to start incorporating more organic, natural products into your life, or to turn someone else on to a more natural lifestyle. Kloverbox would make a fantastic gift, especially since you can choose exactly how many boxes you want to buy, and you don't have to worry about being continuously charged. Love it!

Don't Forget the Coupon!
If you want to try Kloverbox for yourself, you can save 25% off of any subscription with the code: "HB25"
