Memebox Hair and Body #3

I'm going to start off this review with 2 things:
1. Cat Photo Bomb Alert! Seriously I could not get Jonah away from my Memebox long enough to take a picture! He really, really wanted to chew on it.
2. I am so incredibly sorry in advance for my less-than-stellar photos in this post, and in general lately. It's been so overcast here that I have to use artificial light, and to add to that nonsense, my crappy old camera has been acting up lately and not focusing. So for now until I can scrape together enough pennies to get a new one, I'm trying to make do as best as I can!

Now onto the box!
I have purchased all the Hair and Body Memeboxes thus far, and while the first one was a huge hit, I was much less enthused about #2. I had high hopes for this one, so let's see if it stacks up!

(product info card tells you more information and how to use each product!)

If you're new to Memebox, they are a website that sells Korean beauty products, but their most popular items are of course, the Memeboxes. These boxes are full of deluxe samples and full size Korean beauty products and are delivered to you all the way from Korea. Memebox has been kind enough to create a FAQs page that you can view HERE if you want more info on the boxes, as there are many to choose from!
This particular box is one of their special boxes, which are curated around a specific theme. While it's usually Superboxes that contain all full sized products, this box also contains all full sizes!
The Hair and Body #3 box cost $23 plus $6.99 shipping.
 1. CNKCOS: Multi Cleanser Color Bean
(Full Size Product: $17)
These are definitely interesting little buggers! These little colorful "beans" look like candy, but they're actually cleansers that pretty much do it all! The info card says they can function as a makeup remover, facial cleanser, scalp shampoo, body wash, hand wash, face/body scrub, or even a bubble bath! Multi-use products are always awesome, because I am constantly looking for products that can help cut down my routine. I haven't tried these yet, but I'm interested to see how well they work in each aspect of cleansing.

2. CLEOSIS: Musk Perfume Body Mist
(Full Size Product: $28)
I love oriental and musk perfumes, so I was happy to see this product had a very nice white-musk type of fragrance. The name of this product suggests that it's basically a body mist, but it actually soothes and replenishes dry skin while making you smell fresh and clean. This would be great to toss into a workout bag or even your purse if you're doing a lot of walking and moving!

3. Amini: Conditioning Hair Shampoo and Rinse
(Full Size Product $9 for both)
Let's be honest, Memebox: these aren't really "full size" products. These little bottles are lucky to be called travel sizes. However, It seems that these come in a set called the "Traveler Kit", and if they are sold as such through the company, I guess it can be considered full size on a technicality. (Sorry, I'm a nit-picker!)
Either way, these hair cleanser/conditioners are enriched with organic extracts and essential oils and gently cleanse and condition hair. Nothing too special here, however they smell really nice!

4. Amini: "Nutrition" Body Soap Bar
(Full Size Product: $10)
I already received this soap in a different scent/type in the Vitamin Care box, so I was a bit ho-hum about this product. There's not even much to say about it, other than the fact that it's made with lavender, cinnamon, peppermint and olive oil, and it helps rejuvenate the skin. To me, it's just soap. I have always had a weird relationship with bar soaps. More specifically: I don't use them. No matter who makes them or how expensive or fancy they are, they always leave that weird film on my skin that makes me feel "squeaky clean." Not a fan. The good news is my fiance loves bar soaps, so this will be passed on to him.
 5. Shara Shara: Dear Mademoiselle Hair Cap
(Full Size Product: $4)
This is a two step hair treatment that delivers nutrition to your hair and scalp. It's pretty simple to use: Once you've towel-dried your hair, apply the hair treatment from root to tip. Then you place the included hair cap over the hair and head. Then you simply massage the product into the hair while the cap is in place. It can be rinsed out after 15-20 minutes.
I actually love these kinds of intense hair masks that make me feel like I'm at the spa. The only problem is, to get my hair wet, use a hair mask, and then rinse it out requires me to get into the shower not once, but twice. Something about that just never seems appealing to me, so these kinds of masks always end up piled in a drawer somewhere. I really need to buckle down and start using some of them! My hair has been a mess lately!

6. Shabath: Hello Kitty Massage Towel
(Full Size Product: $3)
D'aww so cute! I love me some Hello Kitty, so I was happy to see this in the box. It IS a licensed Sanrio product, so at least it's not some weird knock-off! Basically these massage towels are made to slip over a hand like a glove. You can then later a soap or a body wash onto the towel, then clean/exfoliate your body. Super cute, and a great thing to add into a box like this for sure! I did use these when I went away this past weekend (there are two little mitts in the package) and while they worked relatively well, I did find them to be a bit abrasive to use daily, but they worked nicely for exfoliating. They were a little small for my hands, though.

7. Finco: Body Toner Essence
(Full Size Product: $35)
At first glance, I thought this was yet another product that claims to firm and tone your body. Not a fan of those gimmicky products, but I was happy to read that this is similar to a toner for your face, except for your body! It's animal and mineral oil free, paraben free, and free from a bunch of other chemicals that I can't pronounce. It is applied after showering and towel-drying. It absorbs quickly into the skin and leaves a light fragrance behind. The purpose of this product is apparently to smooth and brighten skin over time. I love skin whiteners and brighteners, so I'm interested to see how this works on my skin!

Overall Thoughts
The Hair and Body #3 box was $30 shipped, and has a total value of $106. As always, a great value from this box! I usually enjoy these kinds of boxes, as the other Memeboxes tend to be very skincare-heavy. It's nice to get boxes that focus things other than your facial skin. I noticed a lot of other Memebox fans weren't too thrilled with the contents of this box. I'm actually very happy with it, and aside from the soap, I will use all of these products! I think it was a well-curated box filled with a nice variety of hair and body care. While the 2nd edition wasn't a very good box, this one absolutely made up for it! If Memebox releases another Hair and Body box, I will definitely be buying it!

  1. I think I was sad because I was expecting it to be more K-Spa like they had billed it as. I was expecting some things you could take to the bath house or something. Really, I think the Hair and Body boxes just aren't for me because I love skincare so much, though.
I'm super happy you liked it and can use everything. I haven't used the cap yet but I'm totally going to :D

    1. I think after such an awful Hair and Body 2 box, this one just made me so much happier, but I have to agree- the more I think about it, the more bummed out I get that it wasn't as they described overall. The hello kitty towels were the only thing that were even remotely like a korean-spa like product. I am glad that I will use everything other than the soap, though! Luckily I have SO much skincare that these boxes usually appeal to me, so I'll keep buying them. If the next one (if there is a next one!) is crappy I'll probably just swear off Hair and Body boxes all together! LOL

  2. I have used the hair cap treatment today and omg my hair feels amazing!! U have to try it, twice in the shower is worth it. Or what I did was just put my head under the shower to wet my hair, rather than climb in :)

  3. I never find the time to use those hair masks/caps... memebox should have pushed through their concept of jjimjibang with spa/minerals/aroma oils/bath towels but they didn't. I guess thats why people were disappointed. You are right, the duo kit is too small to be considered as full-size. Memebox keeps claiming things as full size when they are not...eg the a:t Fox cupcakes in cute wishlist..
