Birchbox Man October 2014

October's Birchbox Man came so early that it wasn't even October yet! I believe it showed up on our doorstep on September 27th, which might be the earliest we've ever received BBMan. If only the regular Birchboxes showed up that early!

If you're unaware, Birchbox Man is a men's lifestyle and grooming subscription box that costs $20 per month. While the women's Birchbox is only $10 per month, the men's box tends to have more lifestyle products such as clothing, electronics, gadgets etc.

This month, Birchbox Man teamed up with the FXX show "The League." Each box includes products that you can use to be game day ready. Although if you've received Birchboxes in the past, you'll probably agree that the monthly themes are usually in name only.

So with that said, let's see what Jeff got in his October Box!

1. Quirky Cordies
This little doodad is actually pretty useful! It has a weighted base and little separated sections so you can place this on your desk and run your cables through them so they'll always be readily available. I know Jeff's phone charger, mp3 player charger, camera USB etc are always under his desk and not easily accessible. This will make it so he won't be rooting around on the floor for stuff constantly!
Weirdly, when we opened the package, we noticed the bottom of the base looked dirty or used in some way. Birchbox has fantastic customer service, and they immediately sent us out a replacement!

2. Quirky Bandits
Jeff is always building or fixing something around our house, so he loves interesting and useful gadgets. These are little bungee cord bands that also have a hook on them, so you can use them for a multitude of things. Birchbox suggests using them to bungee necessities together, or wrapping excessive and messy cords together so they all stay in one place. I'm assume there could be lots of different uses for these, so it's great he received a full pack of 10.

3. Quirky Wrapster
Another useful item from the same company as the previous 2 products. This is a pretty simple invention, yet probably something I'd never think of! You basically use this little piece of cleverly designed plastic to wrap your earbud cord around, and on each side there's a little slot for you to slide the buds into place to keep everything held on tightly. If you're like me and you toss your headphones into the giant depths of your purse, then you know what a pain it us to dig them out and untangle them when you need them. Jeff takes his earbuds to work regularly, so this is a great product for him to have on hand.

4. Blind Barber Shave Cream
This is a generous sized tube of a soothing shave cream made with shea butter and aloe. The scent is super fresh and minty, which I love. Jeff actually doesn't use shaving cream, as he likes to use a "puck" of soap and a shaving brush, so I am more than happy to take this off his hands!

5. Baxter of California Deodorant
Another generously sized sample! This is the Citrus and Herbal Musk scented deodorant from Baxter of California, which Jeff has sampled from in the past and has really enjoyed their products. The scent is soooo nice. Seriously, if they had a cologne in the same scent I would buy it for Jeff in a heartbeat! Very masculine and clean. The best part about this deodorant is that it doesn't contain aluminum or alcohol.

6. das boom Everywhere Lotion
So I know I said the deodorant smells amazing, but this stuff takes the cake. This body lotion has a scent of bay rum, smoke and dirt. While that doesn't sound too appealing, All I can say is that it's one of the nicest smelling products we've received from Birchbox. Just imagine what you'd think a sexy bad boy would smell like and you'll get an idea. While it says on the Birchbox website that we were supposed to receive the body wash, he got the lotion instead. It's all good, although I hope he gets the body wash in the future so he can keep smelling this good!

Overall Thoughts
The October Birchbox Man was filled with really generously sized grooming samples as well as some interesting gadgets that Jeff has already started utilizing and enjoying. I don't really see a "game day" kind of theme going on here, but overall this is a really fantastic box, and I even got some shaving cream out of the deal! I always get more excited for Jeff's Birchboxes because there's definitely more of a variety due to the higher price point. You never know what's going to be inside! Very happy with this month, and excited to see what they bring for November!

  1. Wow! What a great box! I think my husband would love this box. I haven't sprung for it yet because it's $20 but it really does seem to always be a great deal. Hmm....
