Kloverbox October 2014 Review and Coupon!

When I moved to my new apartment back in June, I got this overwhelming desire to start fresh in all aspects of my life. One of the things I was inspired to do was to start living greener. I searched on pinterest for ways to make my own cleaning products, got the idea to start cutting up old towels and use them for cleaning instead of paper towels, and I started shopping at my local farmer's market for healthy foods and fresh meats instead of buying the cheap, unhealthy foods at the grocery store.
I'm not completely at a point where I can give up all of my creature comforts, especially when it comes to my skincare and cosmetics. However I am much more aware and interested in ingredients and what they do, and that has made me smarter when it comes to deciding what products to purchase!

If you're also thinking of starting a "greener" lifestyle, it can definitely be overwhelming when you don't know where to start. It's best to do it slowly; Introduce yourself to new products that you may like even better than the old ones! Organic/Natural subscriptions like Kloverbox are a great way to do just that!

What is Kloverbox?
Kloverbox is a lifestyle subscription box that sends 6-8 natural and organic products  for you to fall in love with each month. This isn't a beauty subscription. Kloverbox sends products from all categories: beauty, health, food and home products, so you can incorporate more natural products into every aspect of your life!

How Does It Work?
Unlike a typical subscription box, Kloverbox does NOT automatically renew. I think this is fantastic, because you don't have to worry about being charged for more boxes than you want, or you could gift a subscription to a friend or family member and not have to stress about remembering to cancel once their gift is over. On the Kloverbox site, you can choose a 1, 3 or 6 month subscription. Once that subscription is over, you will not be billed again unless you're interested in picking up more boxes! The longer the subscription you choose, the more of a discount you get, which is also fantastic!

How Much?
A 1 month subscription to Kloverbox is $25, 3 month subscription is $71.25 ($23.75 per box) and a 6 month subscription is $135 ($22.50) per box.
Shipping is free!

COUPON!
You can save even more money by using the code "HB25" at checkout to save 25% off your order! This code can be used on any subscription.
(This code would save you another $33.75 on a 6 month subscription, making each box only $16.88! That's over $8 in savings PER box!)

Let's see what I received in my October Box!

1. Hands on Hemp: Reusable Produce Bag ($3.83)
This is such an awesome concept that I never knew existed. As I mentioned earlier, I make regular trips to my local farmer's market, and I always take a reusable shopping bag with me. When I get home, I wash and rinse everything and toss it into the crisper. This bag makes it even easier! I can take this bag with me to the market and fill it up with goodies and store the entire thing right in the fridge. The bag holds 40 pounds and allows air ventilation to maximize freshness for up to 3 weeks. I love that these are so well priced too, because I intend on picking up a few more!

2. BOX Naturals: Feminine Wipes ($1.50)
Maybe it's just me, but I absolutely LOVE the fancy packaging of these feminine wipes! Box Naturals sells individually wrapped towelettes that are gently scented with essential oils like Rosewater and Lavender. They're made in the USA, are biodegradable, and are ph balanced. Even better, they are entirely free of parabens, dyes, petrochemicals, sulfates and synthetic fragrance. They even have a subscription service available so if you really enjoy these, you can get them delivered monthly at a discount!

3. Deco Naturals Lip Butters in "Pumpkin Spice, Apple Cider and Butterscotch" ($10.50)
These are my absolute favorite things in my Kloverbox this month! What is better in October than fall-scented lip butters? These limited edition lip butters are all natural and handmade in Michigan. They contain no petroleum, petrochemicals, preservatives, or artificial colors/ flavors.  All the oils, butters and waxes used are sourced from nature and create such a soft, smooth, and moisturizing balm for your lips. These smell so incredibly good. I wish I had matching candles for each scent! Another great thing about this company is that it's run by a high school junior! That is super impressive, considering the only thing I was doing at 16 was going to concerts and faking sick to get out of a math test.

4. Zao Organic Makeup: Eye Shadow ($31.60)
Zao Organic Makeup is packaged in eco-friendly, magnetic bamboo cases that can be refilled, which not only saves the customer money, it saves on wasteful packaging. Their products contain no harmful additives and are not tested on animals. I received an eyeshadow in the shade "pearly gray green," which is exactly what I would describe this shade as! It's a fantastic color for fall, and has a smooth, buttery formula with beautiful color payoff.

5. Acure Organics: Cell Stimulating Body wash ($2.50)
This is apparently a very popular brand, but it's new to me so I'm super happy to try it out! This body wash is made with Moroccan Argan Stem Cell, is paraben and gluten free, vegan, synthetic fragrance free, silicone free, and phthalate free! I took a sniff of this and it smells like sweet almond, which is one of my favorite scents for body products. I have a pretty good feeling I'll be using the coupon code Kloverbox provided and getting a full size!

 6. Kind Bar: Maple Pumpkin Seed with Sea Salt ($1.50)
Kloverbox usually includes a little healthy snack as an extra, and this month they've included one of my all-time favorites: Kind Bars! I love the "healthy grains" line from Kind, and interestingly enough, the Maple Pumpkin Seed is my favorite flavor. Score! It has a similar consistency to a chewy granola bar, but also has a crispness to it. These are awesome to take with me to work when I need a snack on the go!

Overall Thoughts
The October Kloverbox on it's own costs $25 (less if you have a 3 or 6 month subscription) and the approximate value is about $51.50. I am incredibly happy with this months box! Everything in it is something I will use, and I love how there's a mix of brands, most of which are new to me. I especially loved the addition of the fall-scented lip balms, as so many subscription boxes tend to ignore the season in which the box goes out. Fall is my favorite time of year, so I love getting products in my subscriptions that put me in that Fall-loving mood!
Kloverbox would make a fantastic gift, especially since you can choose exactly how many boxes you want to buy, and you don't have to worry about being continuously charged. Love it!
