Memebox: My Mask Box (Mask Edition #5) Review

I'm going to prepare all of you now: I have WAY too many Memeboxes coming my way within the next couple of months. They just kept rolling out the most enticing themes that I just couldn't resist! I'm going to try my best to space them all out as best as I possibly can, but I also want to make sure I can try as many of the products as possible so I can give my first impressions!

This particular box is the 5th edition of the ever popular "Mask Boxes." I missed the first few mask boxes, but once I saw how packed they were with goodies, I vowed to never miss another one! I love masks of all kinds, and I find them to be the "pampering" aspect of my nighttime skincare routine. Nothing is better than slapping on a sheet mask and watching some Gilmore Girls on Netflix before I hit the hay!
(product info card tells you more information and how to use each product)
If you're new to Memebox, they are a website that sells Korean beauty products, but their most popular items are of course, the Memeboxes. These boxes are full of deluxe samples and full size Korean beauty products and are delivered to you all the way from Korea. Memebox has been kind enough to create a FAQs page that you can view HERE if you want more info on the boxes, as there are many to choose from!
This particular box is one of their special edition boxes, which are curated around a specific theme. "My Mask Box" has 7 full size items and cost $23 plus $6.99 shipping.
From Memebox:
Whether you're a busy career woman, a tired mother of three, or studying for finals week, we all have our off days. Wake up in the morning with deeply moisturized skin, not having to worry about dryness during the night. Give your skin the extra attention it deserves with our new Mask Edition #5.
 1. Pure Smile: Mask Sheet 5 Set
(Full Size Product: $6)
Upon first glance, many memefans assumed that this 5-pack of masks was contained in one large foil packet. This seemed to be an issue because it would be difficult to keep the masks moist if they were all packaged together and used once a day. Luckily I opened it up to find 5 individually packaged sheet masks within the larger package.
Pure Smile is a low-cost Korean brand that is pretty equivalent to a drugstore brand here in the US. I'm not always a fan of their products, but I do enjoy their sheet masks. I don't think they're anything out-of-this-world, but they are nice, mild and nourishing. I usually prefer lower-cost sheet masks, as they aren't overbearing on my sensitive, acne-prone skin. These particular masks are "Yuzu", which is a citrus fruit that is similar to a mandarin. Pure Smile masks also contain vitamin E and collagen, and are suitable for all skin types. I used one of these last night. It had a light, refreshing scent and was very moisturizing and soothing.

2. insobeau: Beauty Secret Step Up Bust Mask
(Full Size Products $14)
Strangely enough, this is the second "bust mask" that I've received from Memebox. The first one being from the original OMG box. This one from insobeau claims that it moisturizes, softens and lifts the bust. It contains vitamin C and silk amino acids that deliver concentrated skincare directly to your bust line. These are pretty simple to use. Think of it as a sheet mask for your boobs, really. They are a bit sticky on one side, and have a soft fabric on the other, so they can be worn under clothing throughout the day. I prefer to put them on overnight. I used this bust mask last night and truly didn't see any sort of difference. No lift at all, but the skin where the mask was placed was definitely more moisturized. I actually prefer the Pure Smile "Oh My Busty!" mask to this one, and it's cheaper, too!

3. Pro You: Pore Control Facial Mask
(Full Size Product: $53)
This is a pore control facial mask that boosts absorption levels and removes blackheads and skin impurities from pores as well as preventing skin damage and roughening. It contains hyaluronic acid (one of my favorite ingredients!) and vegetable collagen to provide deep hydration. It also contains aloe vera, witch hazel, green tea and chamomile extracts which help tighten and shrink the pores after blackheads are removed, as well as soothe damaged skin.
This feels pretty much like a typical clay-like mask. It has a clean "lotion-like" scent to it that reminds me of Ponds products. The mask is smooth and dries quickly without feeling too drying like a typical clay mask, but I didn't notice any miraculous results after one use. I have been taking extra care of my pores lately, so that may be the reason why I didn't notice a huge difference after using this product. The good news is: I had no adverse reaction to it, so I will continue to try it out long-term and see if there's any change in pore size, or how often they get clogged. I don't expect it to be a miracle-worker, but I sure am hopeful!

4. Milky Dress: Aqua Sleeping Pack
(Full Size Product: $23)
Milky Dress is a brand I found out about through Memebox, and I am actually a big fan of their products.I love whitening skincare, and they have some of the best. This sleeping pack works great on dehydrated, course skin as it supplies hydration and nutrition deep into the skin while soothing, brightening and treating fine lines and wrinkles.
Sleeping packs are used as the last step in most people's skincare routines, as they help "lock in" the moisture from previous products as well as deliver skincare benefits of their own. Many sleeping packs need to be washed off in the morning, and this is included in that bunch. I haven't used this yet but it doesn't seem to be very moisturizing, although looks can be deceiving. It has a light, gel-like consistency, which immediately makes me think of my favorite Lioele Waterdrop Sleeping Pack. I love the lightweight formula of these packs, but since the colder weather is arriving I'm always looking for something thicker and more moisturizing. This one is supposed to do that though, so maybe it'll surprise me!

5. Tosowoong: Help Me Neck Patch
(Sample Size: 2 patches / Full Size Product: 10 patches $30)
Sheet masks for your neck? You bet! I actually think there was a neck patch in the Original Hair and Body box, and I wasn't a huge fan. Interestingly enough, the packaging of that patch was SO similar to these that I thought it was the same product at first. Luckily, these ones are different, and much better quality. These are bio cellulose sheets made from coconut fermentation and work to replenish and left the skin easily and instantly. They're used just like a sheet mask, and are left on the neck for 15-20 minutes before removal.
My major issue with neck masks in the past was that they never seemed to stay in place.
The "Help Me Neck Patch" is a thin gel-like mask that seems to vacuum right to your neck when you put it on. You can almost feel the grip it has, strangely enough. I could comfortably go about my evening without worrying that it was going to slip down or fall off, and it was large enough to cover all the skin on my neck without issue. While I personally didn't notice any firming or lifting, my skin did feel nourished and moisturized, which in itself is enough for me to like this product. We all tend to forget our neck when it comes to skincare, so it's nice to have a specific product to pamper it!

6. Purederm: Wrinkle Reducer Gel Patches
(Full Size Product: $12)
While Purederm is a "drugstore" brand, I have always been a fan of the products I've tried from them. I love their nose pore strips so much that I bought a ton of boxes on ebay just to have them on hand. These are the wrinkle reducing gel patches that are used under the eye. They're formulated for reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles around and under the eyes, and have a gentle, yet effective formula.
I've used these for two nights in a row, and even though I'm not entirely sure they're doing anything for my eye area, they FEEL so nice on the skin! They have a cooling, soothing effect once they are placed under the eye. You can wear them for 30 minutes, or overnight. I've tried both ways and didn't see a difference either way, but I noticed the skin under my eye was more moisturized and had a more firm-feel to it. I can't say I was blown away by these, but I will continue to use them because of how nice they feel!

7. Elizavecca: Green Piggy Collagen Jella Pack
(Full Size Product: $30)
This was the product everyone was so excited about! Elizavecca is becoming quite the popular Korean brand, and this particular product is so popular, that there are multiple fakes out there being sold! The side of the box has a authenticity sticker that has a scratch-off area that exposes a special serial number...or something? It's all very fancy.
This product has a jelly-like texture that helps nutrients absorb deep into the skin. It has a high concentrate of collagen peptide that increase elasticity and radiance. It's used simply by spreading it onto the skin and massaging it in until fully absorbed. I found this to be incredibly similar to the Saint Peau sleeping pack I received in my Cute Wishlist #2 box, so I decided to keep this one unopened until the Saint Peau is all used up.

Overall Thoughts
This box was $23 plus $6.99 shipping and has a total value of $144! Granted that include the Pro You retail value of $53, which I think is completely incorrect, but it's still a fantastic value regardless. I think this Mask box had a great variety of products, but still stuck to the theme without being redundant. This may not have been the most exciting Memebox I've ever received, but it was definitely filled with products I am excited to use, or ended up using right away. I think the mask boxes are a great choice if you're looking to expand your skincare routine without giving up some of your favorite products, or risking adding new things to your routine and messing with your skin. I'm very happy with this box and can't wait to continue testing everything out!

  1. The bust mask trend cracks me up. I have yet to get a box with a bust mask in it, but I'm quite curious now ....

    1. haha omg the "bust"" masks always make me laugh but I'll try anything!! The Pure Smile one from the OMG box has heart shaped pasties that are apparently "masks" but they just crack me up. I like that it comes with a gommage and a lotion as well so it's like a 3-step boob treatment haha. This one was just...pointless.
