New Memebox / Recipe "Time on My Lip" Tint/Gloss/Liquid Lipstick!

Memebox Global is celebrating their 1 year anniversary, and what better way to do so than release a new line of products? They've already taken the beauty box world by storm, so they've set their sights on new avenues, and this one is pretty fun!
They've teamed up with the wonderful company Re:cipe to create their first beauty product: "Time on My Lip."

"Time on My Lip" is a lip stain that delivers a really versatile experience! It can be used as a lip tint/gradient stain, a lip gloss, as well as a liquid lipstick.

From Memebox:
"After a year of introducing only the best K-beauty products to our fans, Memebox wanted to make our version of the hottest K-beauty trend: gradient-tinted lips! We’ve partnered up with cult Korean beauty brand RE:CIPE to create this revolutionary hybrid gel formula. Specially formulated with expert RE:CIPE chemists with a unique blend of rose hip oil, jojoba seed oil, and mango seed butter to keep your lips supple and nourished."

Time on My Lip comes in 2 Shades: "Awesome Pink" and "Whop Coral"
Left: Whop Coral / Right: Awesome Pink (from the Memebox website)
Memebox has a great comparison on their site of different ways to wear these lip tints:
Top: Look #1 / Middle: Look #2 / Bottom: Look #3
Look 1:
Lovely, tinted lips. Prime your lips with a concealer, dab the product onto your inner lips to create a gradient look.
Look 2:
Glamorous, glossy lips. Apply a full coat for a shiny gloss finish.
Look 3:
Bold, vivid lips: Apply a second full coat for the staying power of a lipstick. For a matte finish, tissue off once the color is fixed.

Memebox was nice enough to provide me one of these tints to share with you guys, and I received the color "Awesome Pink." It looks WAY more intimidating in the tube and on the applicator than it actually is. The tube itself is actually very well made and feels like a mid-to-high end packaging.
Left: Awesome Pink freshly swatched / Right: Awesome Pink wiped away to reveal stain

I think wearing Awesome Pink as a full-cover liquid lipstick would be very intense, and mostly likely wouldn't flatter every skintone. Using it as a gloss or a stain would work nicely for everyday. You can see from my swatches that while it has a bright appearance, using it as a gradient would mute the color a bit. The stain left behind is also more of a petal pink than a bright pink.

Scent- This product doesn't have a smell, really, although I would have almost preferred it did. It has a very slightly chemical scent to it, which isn't so pleasant when going on the lips
Consistency- It's interesting. Think of a mix between a liquidy lip tint and a cream lip gloss. There's a very slight stickiness to it that dissipates once the product "sinks in."
Wear- While I've only tried this product a few times, I used it as a gradient lip tint. I found that the gradient look tended to fade away after 5-6 hours, however the tint left my lips looking rosy until the next day.

Ingredients- purified water, octyldodecanol, trimethylsiloxyphenyl dimethicone, modificated alcohol, sorbitan stearate, acrylate copolymer, ethyl cellulose, behenyl alcohol, rose hip oil, macadamia seed oil, mango seed butter, jojoba seed oil, pentylene glycol, polysorbate 60, hydroxypropyl guar, polyglyceryl-2 triisostearate, isohexadecane, polysorbate 80, caprylyl glycol, ethylhexylglycerin, sodium hyaluronate, phenoxyethanol, fragrance, titanium dioxide, red 104, red 202, yellow 4.
Interestingly enough, I'm actually very pleased with this lip tint! Rarely do I find one that I like enough to continue using regularly, as most of them get used once and tossed into the lip gloss graveyard. The Awesome Pink shade is one that I thought I wouldn't like, however as many tints are, it looks much more intense than it appears. I love that this can be used in a variety of different ways, although I do wish it lasted just a bit longer when worn as a gradient tint.

  1. It's weird that your tint doesn't have a smell - I think it smells distinctly like roses. Artificial roses, but roses nonetheless. Maybe there were different batches?

  2. At least you didn't get Coral :*( I smelled mine just to see and while I smell nothing if I sniff the bottle, if I sniff the applicator, it definitely smells like roses.
