Target Beauty Box Review and Unboxing

Every now and then, Target will release a limited edition beauty box. They don't seem to have any rhyme or reason as to when they're released, but they are always very popular and sell out incredibly fast.
In the past, they have been completely free and included foil pack samples, or more recently they have been free with a $5 shipping charge. I noticed this particular box had a small price hike, and they were now charging $7 shipped. This didn't bother me too much seeing has how these boxes always have a much higher value than what they cost, and you get to see what products are included in the box before deciding to purchase.
Just like the previous Target Beauty Box, they've included a $3 off a $15 beauty purchase coupon along with the info card.

1. Laneige: BB Cushion Sample
The first sample that was included, and the one I was most excited for was the Laneige BB Cushion sample. Laneige is a Korean brand that Target has just recently started carrying this year. Their BB cushion is incredibly popular, so I'm glad that this was included in a few different shades so I can try it out before buying a full size on a whim.

2. L'Oreal Paris: Elnett Extra Strong Hold Hairspray
3. Fekkai Professional: Blowout Hair Refresher Dry Shampoo
I found it slightly odd that there are two aerosol hair products in this box. I suppose Target isn't really trying to curate a box, but more so just sharing deluxe samples of the products they want featured. L'Oreal Elnett is an award winning, ridiculously popular hairspray, however I've always preferred my Tresemme and nothing has been able to beat it yet for my holy grail hairspray. I like Elnett though, and It's always nice to have a purse-size hairspray on hand.
The Fekkai Blowout Hair Refresher is a basic dry shampoo with a fancier name. I don't use dry shampoos, so I'll be passing this on to my roommate, who lives and dies by them!

4. NYX: Jumbo Pencil in 'Milk"
5. L'Oreal Colour Riche Extraordinaire Lipstick in "Nude Ballet"
I love the NYX jumbo pencils, although it's been a long time since I've used any of the ones I have in my collection. The jumbo pencil in "Milk" which is the one included here, is absolutely the most popular shade. You wouldn't think so at first glance, but it's the most versatile of the bunch. The pigmentation is fantastic, which makes it an awesome base for a powder shadow. It really boosts the intensity of any shadow it goes underneath. This is also a great shade for highlight the inner corners of your eyes, or lining your water line to create the look of a larger eye. Every time I have gone to the store to buy this shade it is always sold out, so I'm so happy to have received one in this box!
This will now be the 5th L'Oreal Colour Riche Extraordinaire Lipstick that I own, but they are truly one of my favorite lip formulas in my entire expansive collection. These go on like a lip gloss, but have the color payoff of a lipstick. They smell fruity and delicious, apply smoothly and without stickiness, and last on my lips for hours. I luckily did not have this shade yet, which is a nude with a slight peachy pink undertone. I find that when I wear it at full opacity, it looks a little light on my lips. When worn sparingly though, I can make it work.

Overall Thoughts
Considering the L'Oreal Lipstick retails for $7 on it's own, this box was a great value. I never really purchase these Target Beauty Boxes hoping for a huge value or even to be super impressed, but it's a great way to try drugstore products before you buy without spending a lot. I do think I preferred the last Beauty Box they put out, but I will happily use all the products in this box except for the dry shampoo. If these beauty boxes continue to have generously sized samples and full size cosmetics, I will keep buying them! I rarely go into the drugstore to purchase beauty products anymore, so it's nice to keep up with what's new and popular!
