Harlot Beauty X Memebox: Haul Of Fame Collaboration Sale and GIVEAWAY!

While many of you know and love Memebox, you may not know that they have a web store dedicated to US Shoppers! Not only do the products ship from their US warehouse in California, (which means cheaper shipping, yay!) but they also do exclusive sales and deals on products in the US shop, saving you even more money!
If you are one of the few who are unaware of who Memebox is, they are a website that sells Korean beauty products, but their most popular items are of course, the Memeboxes. These boxes are full of deluxe samples and full size Korean beauty products and are delivered to you all the way from Korea. They also have an expansive web store that is overflowing with K-beauty goodness!

Harlot Beauty's "Routine Ready" Haul of Fame!
In order to turn the spotlight on brands featured in the US shop, Memebox has asked a few bloggers to choose their favorite products, and I was lucky enough to be asked! Not only will my personal picks be deeply discounted during my "Haul of Fame" sale, they will also be reviewed here so you can get a good idea of what I picked and why picked it! Even better? I will be hosting a giveaway where you can win 5 items from my Haul, which are valued at nearly $70!

While I love my makeup collection, you know I am ALL about Korean skincare! Before I adopted a multi-step Korean skincare routine, my face was riddled with acne, redness, dry patches, oily t-zone...you name it. I just couldn't find anything that worked for me long-term. Once I started using Korean skincare products (most of which came from my Memeboxes!) I noticed my skin was more moisturized, well cleansed, bright and even. While I have a 13+ step routine, I've narrowed it to down to the most important steps and chose products from brands that I know and trust. These products will make a complete routine for anyone looking to get started with k-skincare, or even a seasoned skincare pro looking to fill gaps in their collection!

*NOTE* These items do not come with the pretty flowers and cute faces you see in the photos! I've just added them in because I like over-decorating everything! ^ _ ~

Step 1: Oil Cleanser
It's Skin: Brightening Cleansing Oil $19
SALE PRICE: $15.20
Cleansing Oils are used regularly in Korean skincare routines, however many of us in the Western world tend to shy away from anything that goes on our skin and has the world "oil" in it. No one wants to be an oily mess! The good news is, using an oil cleanser not only removes dirt and makeup from your face, it also help balance out your skins oil production. Makeup remover wipes can damage your skin over time, so it's a good choice to switch to an oil cleanser for makeup removal purposes.
I chose the It's Skin Brightening Cleansing Oil, because it's suitable for combination skin, which I have. It's also a brightening product, and I am always looking to add things to my routine that will brighten and even my skin tone!
To use, simply apply 3-4 pumps into your hands and rub them together gently. Do not wet your face or your hands before applying as cleansing oils should go on dry. I usually spend about a minute  or so massaging the oil onto my skin and then finally, over my eyes to remove my stubborn eye makeup. After that, I emulsify the oil by running my hands under water and continuing to massage. This will cause the oil to foam up a bit and continue working it's magic. Then, simply rinse it off and prepare for the second cleansing stage!

Step 2: Cleansing Foam
Missha: Near Skin Extra Renew Cleansing Foam $9
SALE PRICE: $7.20
After you've gotten all your makeup off your face, it's important to find a good foaming or cream cleanser to actually wash your face! This 2-step cleansing routine has literally saved my skin. If you haven't started doing oil-then-foam cleansing, there's no better time than the present!
While this cleanser is best for dry skin, it actually works very well on my combination skin at the moment, due to the fact that it's been so cold! My skin tends to dry out a bit more in the winter, so a cleanser that doesn't strip my skin of it's natural moisture is key. It contains yucca extract and botanical amino acids that leave skin feeling fresh after cleansing, rather than tight and dried out. It's an interesting consistency: a slightly sticky gel. It's formulated this way so there is less irritation to the skin during cleansing.
Since this isn't your typical foaming cleanser, you're not going to get a heavy amount of foam or bubbles from this product. Simply wet your skin, take a small amount of cleanser onto wet hands and build up a light froth, then massage onto your face as you would any cleanser. I like to rinse my cleansers off and then splash my face with some cool water to close up my pores before moving to my next steps!

Step 3: Booster
Missha Time Revolution: Night Repair Turn Over Control Booster $27.04
SALE PRICE: $20.28
After cleansing, it's usually time to move directly to the toner. However, there is a lesser known product called a "booster" in Korean skincare routines that goes on right after cleansing. These products are usually mixed with a toner (this particular one can be used as both) however I find them to be a beneficial addition to my routine as a completely separate step. Boosters are usually used to prepare the skin for more products, therefore "boosting" the effectiveness of everything else you put on.
This Missha Booster revitalizes and strengthens skin and has a "3-layer retinoid liposome structure" that gives intensive wrinkle care. It also gives vitality to and restores damaged skin cells. It's a soft, watery gel-like product that absorbs quickly, which is great when you have a lot of skincare steps to get through! The best part about this product is that it also has a whitening/brightening effect. (Don't panic about the word, "whitening" in Korean skincare. It almost always means that it brightens and evens out the skin.)
This product, like other boosters is used directly after cleansing, before your toner. 1-2 pumps applied to the skin is all you need. Pat lightly for quicker absorption!
I LOVE this booster. I have had such a hard time finding them in general, but this one has been a dream come true for my skin!

Step 4: Toner
It's Skin: Aloe Relaxing Toner $13
SALE PRICE: $10.40
You may choose to use a booster/toner combination product, or you're like me and like to have a completely separate toner. Unlike Western toners that are used as astringents to cleanse and treat the skin, Asian beauty brands use toners to restore moisture and balance to the skin after the sometimes harsh cleansing process. I find toners are absolutely essential: my skin always feels refreshed and more "back to normal" after applying them.
I prefer toners that feel cooling, soothing and relaxing, so what better toner to choose for this collection than a relaxing Aloe toner? It's loaded with aloe  watermelon, avocado and cucumber extracts, all rich with vitamins and minerals that moisturize and soothe skin while giving it a natural glow. I enjoy the soothing feel of this toner so much, that it's become a permanent product in my nighttime routine!
To apply, I like to put a decent amount directly on a cotton round and gently swipe it across my facial skin. You can also apply it with your hands if you'd prefer.

Step 5: Eye Cream
a;t fox Lifting Cream- Black Tea $22
SALE PRICE: $15.40

An eye cream is an absolute essential in a skincare routine, and I think that goes without saying no matter where you're from. I spent years skipping an eye cream, and now at 29, I'm starting to see a few fine lines appear. It is never too early for anti-aging products, especially when it comes to the delicate skin around your eyes.
I am a sucker for adorable packaging, so while I wanted this haul to be all about the product and the quality, I couldn't help but sneak in one of my favorite cute products! Luckily this cream is not only adorable, but effective! It's not just an eye cream, but it can be used under the eyes and all over the face! It's great for sagging skin under the eyes, wrinkles and creases...you name it! It has a very gentle texture that helps lift and firm skin while hydrating and enhancing skins complexion. I got this as a mini in the Cute Wishlist box, and I've loved what it has done for the skin around my eyes. I just had to include it in this Haul of Fame!

Step 6: Essence/ Serum/ Ampoule
Missha Lavender Super Aqua Deep Sea Micro Mist $12.90
SALE PRICE: $9.67
At this stage in the nighttime skincare routine, you can get as expansive as you want. There are days when I layer on serum after serum, and other days when I simply apply my sheet mask and a mist. One thing is for sure though, There's ampoules, serums and essences for every single skin type and issue you can imagine!
I didn't include a sheet mask in my "haul" because I use them sporadically, and love so many different brands that I couldn't choose just one! I normally apply them after toner and/or after exfoliating, if I happen to do so. Because sheet masks are very saturated with essence, I tend to skip the essence part of my routine when I use a sheet mask, but I also add in a mist of some sort to break up the stickiness the mask left behind, and to prep for my heavier creams. On more oily-skin days, I leave out the coming steps of a serum completely and just use a mist, like this one!
I use all kinds of mists depending on my mood, but I absolutely love the Missha Lavender Super Aqua Deep Sea Micro Mist. That's a mouthful of a title, eh? This mist contains lavender and and assortment of fruit oils, so it smells divine!  It also contains 97% deep sea water that is enriched with minerals, providing moisture and radiance to the skin. Seaweed extract soothes and protects the skin.
This particular mist can be used whenever you like, even toss it in your bag to freshen your skin throughout the day. As I said above, my favorite time to use it is right after a sheet mask. This product is different from a regular mist because it sprays on incredibly fine. The container almost looks like a hairspray, but the product comes out very lightly. I mist it on and then gently pat it in to break up any residue on my skin, and prepare for even more layers of skincare goodness!

Step 7: Emulsion/ Lotion
Lioele Egg Yolk Cream $50
SALE PRICE: $32.50

Applying a lotion or emulsion should be one of the final steps in your routine. For people with oily skin, this would be the only "moisturizing" step, however if you have combination or dry skin, you will apply a more intense moisturizing cream later. Seeing as how my combination skin has been incredibly dry as of late, I have decided to include 2 creams in this haul: one lighter and one heavier.
The Lioele Egg Yolk Cream is a wildly popular cream not only for its sleek packaging and interesting texture, but also for it's effectiveness. It's Lioele's #1 best seller for a reason! The appearance is of course, similar to an egg yolk, although it has an almost jello-like consistency. It has a very subtle fresh scent as well. As the product is applied to the skin, it melts in like a gel would. I find that it absorbs quickly into the skin, so it works well being used as an emulsion prior to a heavier cream, and would also work especially well for someone with oily skin. A little goes a very long way, so be careful when applying this. If too much is used, it can form a slightly sticky residue. I like to apply a little at a time so I don't go overboard.
This cream firms and restructures the skin by tightening and lifting while keeping the skin moisturized for up to 48 hours. It uses collagen, coenzyme Q10 and something called "phyto-white" to brighten and nourish the skin, all while reducing the appearance of wrinkles. I do have a bit of "loose skin" around my neck due to weight loss, and I do feel like this product helps firm up that area with regular use. I love the way this product feels on my skin as well.

Step 8: Cream
Missha Super Aqua Cell Renew Snail Cream $32
SALE PRICE: $25.60

This is the part of the routine where the real moisturizing magic happens. If you have combination or dry skin, on top of your regular emulsion, a heavier cream would be applied. I never used to think that I needed a heavier cream due to my combo-skin, so I usually left this step out. One day, I noticed my massive pile of creams that were going unused, so I decided to add one to my routine. I couldn't believe the difference! I didn't' wake up oily, like I expected, but my skin was plump, more bright and radiant than I could have imagined. Sometimes it's good to deviate a bit from what you THINK will be the best routine for your skin type, because Korean skincare products may surprise you!
The cream I've chosen is the Missha Super Aqua Cell Renew Snail Cream. I love snail products, although it took me a very long time to get over the fear of snail slime on my face. Once I got the guts to use one, I was absolutely blown away by the fantastic results. Using snail products, my acne heals faster and my skin feels softer and smoother than ever! This particular cream has more of a gel-like consistency, and helps prevent skin damage by strengthening the skin barrier. It also provides wrinkle repair and brightening benefits. The snail slime in this cream helps treat troubled skin, wrinkles, loss of elasticity and uneven tone. Baobab Tree Extract and Deep Sea Water help deeply moisturize the skin without leaving a greasy residue.
To use, simply apply a nickel-sized amount to the skin the same way you would an emulsion, and pat to help absorb. This has a lovely fruity/fresh scent, and like the Lioele cream, absorbs quickly while leaving my skin super soft. While I like my creams to be moisturizing, I also need them to absorb well and not leave a greasy residue.

Step 9: Sleeping Pack
Missha Super Aqua Cell Renew Snail Sleeping Mask $17
SALE PRICE: $13.60

As you probably know by know, the key to healthy skin is moisture! And no matter what you've heard, even oily skin needs moisture. One of the best ways to lock in all the ingredients you've diligently applied to your skin is by using a sleeping pack. Sleeping packs provide added moisture as well as a protective film that locks in moisture while you sleep.
Sleeping packs are one of my favorite skincare products to use, and the Super Aqua Cell Renew Snail Sleeping Mask is one of the first ones I had ever tried. If you read the reviews for this product online, you'll see how absolutely beloved it is. This pack contains 15% snail slime extract which provides vitality and moisture to the skin, while helping damaged skin recover. The included botanical stem cells supply energy to the skin. This has the same fruity/fresh scent as the cream from the same line. It comes out of the tube looking like a cream, but quickly breaks down into a gel-like consistency, which makes this a great product for any skin type.
I find that this sleeping pack has lightened my acne scars, and has evened the texture and appearance of my skin. When I wake up, my face looks softer and brighter. I have even used this sleeping pack in the summer when my skin is very oily. It works like magic by healing dry patches without making the rest of my skin oily or irritated. It's definitely up there with my all-time favorite sleeping packs!

Step 10: Spot Treatment
Lioele AC Control Night Spot Trouble Hunter $17.50
SALE PRICE: $14

Once all of your skincare products have been applied and have had a chance to sink in a bit, this would now be the time to put the icing on the skincare cake: a spot treatment. This doesn't necessarily mean just acne care. Spot treatments could also be wrinkle fillers, whitening treatments etc. I just so happen to have acne-prone skin, so more often than not, I'm reaching for a spot treatment to help with redness and breakouts.
This Lioele Trouble Hunter is a spot treatment that targets skin troubles by using pink sulfur powder that softens the keratin clogging pores. It uses salicylic acid and glycerin to relieve blotchy skin and make skin clear and clean. It also contains allantoin, tea tree oil and hyaluronic acid to soothe and moisturize while it heals.
This product is kind of interesting in how it's used. You'll see that there's a clear liquid and a pink powder floating within the clear liquid. To use this spot treatment, you need to wait for the pink powder to settle to the bottom of the jar. Then, lower a cotton swab down into and past the clear liquid until you hit the pink powder, and then remove. You'll see a pink paste on the cotton swab. Then, simply dot the product on the spots that need treating. Don't double dip the swab into the jar again, or you'll cross-contaminate! Simply use the other side of the swab if you need to re-dip. This stuff dries pretty quickly, so you should be able to go to sleep and not stress about it getting all over the place!
The only spot treatments that I have found that work to lessen the size and redness of my breakouts are the Ciracle red spot treatment, and this one. There are alternative brands that have a similar liquid/powder combo-product, but only the Lioele has worked well for my blemishes.

At this stage in the skincare game, I will usually apply a lip scrub, followed by a lip treatment, as well as any other products that are to be worn over night, IE: under eye patches etc. While it seems like a very intense routine, it usually takes me about 20 minutes total. Although if I'm using a sheet mask or a few different serums, it may take a bit longer. If you're ever unsure on the order in which to apply your products, a good rule of thumb is to apply the products lightest to heaviest in terms of consistency. I find that my skincare routine is an enjoyable ritual that helps me unwind at the end of a long day, and feels very rewarding!

    1. Thank you so much!! :) And yes, even though quite a few companies make the same type of spot treatment, I noticed that many of them have different ingredients and different amounts of the active ingredients. Some work better than others, for sure, although I think these treatments work best for smaller breakouts.

  16. Grats on your Hall of Fame collab! I'd love to try all of the items but the Lioele pink powder interests me the most. BTW, thanks for swatching the Missha and Lioele creams. My skin is VERY oily and I've always been afraid of trying those because I thought the consistency would be too thick. They look great for my skin, though. I'll have to try one after I finish my Benton Snail Bee Steam Cream. :-)

As for multi-use products, Search for toner/booster combo products, but there are also quite a few essence/ampoule/moisturizer combos too. They're harder to search for when shopping, but if you keep an eye out for them, you'd be surprised at how many you start seeing!

I use the Lioele Waterdrop in the summer since it's a very light gel, and this one in the wiinter since it's a cream-to-gel that is super moisturizing without being greasy. Plus, you gotta love the snails! ;)
