Memebox: My Honey Box Review and Unboxing

Not surprisingly, I'm almost always expecting a Memebox. I usually have boxes arriving multiple times a week, but I stay on top of my tracking numbers, and always know when they're going to show up. The other day however, I came home from a long day at work (I got colored on. A lot. Kids are delightful.) to find a mystery pink package sitting on my porch.
My marker-covered hands couldn't wait to rip it open to see what it was! Had I won a prize? Did I completely forget that I ordered a box and now it's delighting me with it's presence?
Neither, apparently! Memebox was a sneaky little devil and sent me "My Honey Box" in exchange for my honest review. Uh, yes please!
I missed on both Honey boxes, as they had been released around a time that I was either out of money for the week, or I had just purchased a slew of boxes and couldn't bring myself to get more. I am so thrilled that they chose this box for me to review, because it was one I seriously regretted missing out on!

(product info card tells you more information and how to use each product)
If you're new to Memebox, they are a website that sells Korean beauty products, but their most popular items are of course, the Memeboxes. These boxes are full of deluxe samples and full size Korean beauty products and are delivered to you all the way from Korea. Memebox has been kind enough to create a FAQs page that you can view HERE if you want more info on the boxes, as there are many to choose from!

This particular box is one of their Superboxes, which contain all full size products.
"My Honey Box" cost $29 plus $6.99 shipping, and includes 7 products.
From Memebox:
My Honey Box oozes with all things honey to enhance your natural beauty. Sweet! Honey is a pretty amazing substance and there is a lot more to it than just a sweet tasting treat. Hailed as the queen of natural beauty enhancers, honey is rich in natural sugars and minerals that work to nourish and repair damaged skin. Its natural antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties stop bacterial growth and heal infections, while it's antioxidant-rich formula creates a youth-preserving veil over the face to protect against wrinkle-causing free radicals and improve the skin's radiance!

Alright! A box full of honey-goodness. Let's get into it.

Sheet masks are pretty standard in Memeboxes, and in Korean skincare routines in general. While they are just starting to pop up and gain popularity here in the US, they are most likely found in every Korean store. I'm hoping one day the US gets on board with the trend, although I can't imagine our chemical-filled skincare tendencies will do many favors for US-made sheet masks.
This mask has high concentrates of honey and collagen extracts, and delivers nutrition to skin while improving it's elasticity. It also contains 9 different herbal ingredients that soothe and brighten the complexion. Nice! I have a small hoard of sheet masks, but I use them almost nightly, so I'm always pleased to receive them. I tried this one out 2 nights ago, and it was pretty standard. I don't think it changed my life, but my skin definitely felt more moisturized and looked visibly brighter. Oh- and it didn't make me break out the next morning, which is something sheet masks can do to me on occasion. Good stuff.

While Pure Smile as a brand isn't always a fan-favorite, their Snail lip treatments have been buzzed about big time! I received one in my Vitamin Care box, but I hadn't really used it. Now that I know how good it is, I am super happy to have the honey version! This lip treatment is enriched with honey and snail mucus extracts, grape seed oil, shea butter and other naturally derived nutrients. I find that application of this product can be a bit difficult, as the treatment is extremely thick and a little bit sticky. I think this works best as an overnight lip product. I've used it for a few days, and I can really notice a difference! My lips always get chapped in the winter, but I try to keep it to a minimum. This treatment has somehow managed to remove that pesky layer of dry skin on my bottom lip completely! Now I know why people love this stuff so much. It does have a strange smell to it...kind of like mens cologne? I can't put my finger on it, but it's subtle enough that it doesn't bother me too much.

(Full Size Product: $5)
Of course, it's that time of year where I got through hand creams like water. I've got one in every room of the house, in my cabinet at work, in my car...I seriously cannot get enough hand cream! This one is enriched with honey and apple, and works to moisturize, purify and even firm up dry hands. This cream is thick, smells like sweet apples, and absorbs quickly and evenly. I'm always excited to find a lotion that doesn't leave a greasy film on my hands after applying it!

(Full Size Product: $20)
This product is used on dehydrated, sagging skin. It contains honey and collagen, which deliver nutrition while firming up the skin by creating a tight-knit gel network on the skin. Weird...but cool. It has a very gooey-stringy texture, but it glides on the skin smoothly and absorbs without leaving a sticky film.
It's patted and massaged over the face, and then rinsed off the next morning, so I'm assuming that it can be used as a sleeping pack. I haven't gotten around to trying this product yet, but I am curious to see if it does anything more than provide moisture. I want a gel network on my skin...whatever the heck that means. Memebox cracks me up with their descriptions, sometimes.

(Full Size Product: $29)
This is my favorite item in this box, hands down! Just look at that sparkling amber-colored goodness! This cream is more like a gel, and is enriched with honey and propolis extracts, aloe vera, hyaluronic acid and green tea extracts. It's fast-absorbing, and free of parabens, artificial coloring, mineral oil, benzophenone, BHT, and talc.
This is essentially a moisturizing cream that is used at the end of a skincare routine, however Memebox suggests that it can also be used as a sleeping pack. I used it as a moisturizer for the past few days, and I am in love with the way it makes my skin feel. Even though the air is dry and cold, this gel keeps my skin incredibly moisturized. It works and produces results like a heavier cream would, but without the oily after effects of one. Would like to order a lifetime supply of this, please!

(Full Size Product: $37)
Migabee is a brand I'm quite fond of, so I'm thrilled to see a product from them in this box. It would only make sense considering their products are all made with bee-related products! This mask is your standard peel-off type, however I used friction to rub it off so you could see the results a bit better in photos. You can also see all the bits of dirt and oil clinging to the dried up pieces of mask. Gross and awesome! This mask contains honey, bee venom, propolis and royal jelly, and works to control excess oil and sebum by cleaning and balancing the skin. The best way to use this product is on clean skin. Apply it thickly over the face. It feels a bit sticky at first, but it will dry on your skin, and then you can peel it off in all it's grossly awesome glory!

(Full Size Product: $5)
This box rounds off it's curation nicely with a honey hair treatment. This has a high concentration of honey, and is used to deliver deep nourishment to hair while repairing split ends, and providing intensive protein care to your tresses. Also included in this treatment is manuka oil, which works to renew damaged cuticles and restore a silky gloss to hair. It has a really lovely natural scent, kind of like a fresh shea butter. This treatment is used after shampooing, on towel-dried hair. Leave it for 5-10 minutes, then rinse. It does say "Everyday 30 Days" on it, so I don't know if that means its supposed to be used for 30 days straight? Maybe once a month? No clue. But the tube is nowhere near big enough for 30 days, and it is supposed to be full size. Mysteries. I haven't tried this out yet, but I absolutely love conditioning treatments. I made the mistake of trying to bleach the color out of my hair over a year ago, and I'm still to this day trying to get it back to it's original health. Hopefully this stuff will do the trick!

 Overall Thoughts
This box cost $29 + $6.99 shipping, and had a total retail value of $102.
While the retail value of this box is a bit lower than some of the other superboxes I've received, I am absolutely thrilled with the contents. There's nothing here that I won't use, and I think I've fallen in love with the Edmong Water Cream. It's so lovely! Overall, the curation is wonderful, and while the focus is on skincare here, there's also the hair and body products that really round everything out quite well. If Memebox releases a new Honey box in the future (hint hint, Memebox!) I will absolutely be picking it up without hesitation!

  1. This box looks amazing!! I think it came out before I started getting Memebox, so I hope they bring out something similar soon (when they start bringing out boxes again). I am especially jealous of that Hair Treatment, it looks divine!

    1. It's a really fantastic box, and I agree- I mentioned to Memebox in my last message to them that they need to come out with another Honey box ASAP! :D Hope you can grab one if they release it!

  2. This was the first Memebox I bought, and I love it! It really set a high bar; if only all boxes could be like this one. Have I told you I love it?

I use the Daycell Massage Cream 2 - 3 times a week (at night). I started off using it nightly, but noticed I was producing more sebum than usual, so I cut back on usage. I don't know about gel networks but it has a lovely smell and texture, and is wonderfully moisturising!

I love the Edmong honey water cream as well! It absorbs quickly and moisturises well without feeling sticky. I've been searching high and low online for somewhere to buy this without success :-(

I am gifting the hand cream and hair treatment (takes up too much time for me), and haven't yet tried the mask. I find the peel ok, but not extraordinary :-) I love the lip treatment! I use it overnight, mainly because my daughters won't let me kiss them if I have it on ('do you have snail slime on? Urgh don't come near me!'). I've also been putting little dabs of it on my acne scars and it seems to help them fade more quickly. It's hard to find this online, though :-(

Long story short, I'd buy another honey box in a heartbeat! I'm glad you have the opportunity to enjoy it :-)

    1. Wow if this was the first Memebox you ever got, I can definitely see how every one following it has a lot to live up to! I've been getting them since their very first global, but they definitely have improved since then, so they're always impressing me! ;)
I'm definitely glad that you enjoy the daycell cream. I was a little confused as to what it's supposed to do, but I think that makes me more intrigued to try it LOL
That is such a bummer to know that the honey water cream is difficult to find. I know that Memebox takes requests for products to be carried in their store, so definitely shoot them an e-mail and let them know! Also, if you click the link that I posted for it, it will take you to the Memebox page that has the cream on it. Click "add to wishlist" as they tend to stock products that are on a lot of people's wishlists!

I agree the lip treatment is amazing! I have already added it to my wishlist as well. They carry Pure Smile products on the memebox site, so they should be carrying these lip treatments too! They're only $5, so I'd probably stock up! ;D

Thanks for the awesome comment and all your feedback on the products! <3

  3. YAY! You got it after all! I hope you enjoy it as much as I do. #kbeautybloghop

    1. I'm already loving this box! So excited that it magically appeared on my doorstep like a little honey-covered angel! ;)

  4. It's official. This post has made me want the next honey box. All of these products look amazing and you provided great details. :) The water cream looks simply divine.

    1. I've been hinting to Memebox that another Honey box needs to happen! Thanks so much for reading! :)

  5. OMG!!!! I love Memebox!!! this one was perfect!!!! (I am french, I hope you understand me^^)

    1. Understood you perfectly Virginie! :) I agree, this box was wonderful!

  6. The Water Cream and Face Peel look to be my favorites :3 facial peels are so satisfying haha xD

    1. Those are 2 of my favorites too! Facial peels play to my childhood love of peeling glue off my fingers LOL You're right-they're so satisfying, even if sometimes it feels like they're not doing a whole lot haha :) I just like peeling them off!

    2. Yesssss!!! I loved peeling glue off my fingers too haha xD I'm currently using a black colored facial peel and I like to pretend I'm Venom when I peel it off lol.

  7. Oooh, that water/gel cream looks beaaaaautiful! Would slather that all over myself, lol.

    1. Seriously it looks like a glistening pool of glorious golden water. It's AWESOME. I hope they stock it in the memeshop!
