Yumi Beautiful Vitamin C Antioxidant Skincare Serum Review

I am always on the lookout for the perfect serum. Since I have combination skin, they tend to break me out, or leave my skin oily and uncomfortable. One type of serum that consistently alludes me is Vitamin C, as my skin has a love/hate relationship with Vitamin C serums. When I apply them, my skin is glowing and radiant for days, and then before you know it: acne city.
Vitamin C is known to cause breakouts from time to time, and it's sometimes explained away by saying the antioxidants are pulling the "bad stuff" out of your skin. But I would rather not use a product that makes me breakout, even if it's for a short time. When I got the opportunity to try the Yumi Beautiful Serum, I hesitantly took the plunge. I was worried about acne immediately, but I am so determined to find a vitamin C serum that doesn't break me out that I had to give it a go.
Yumi's Signature Antioxidant Skincare Serum is actually a lot more than just a typical vitamin C serum. It contains aloe vera and hyaluronic acid to soothe and moisturize as well as a 25% Active Vitamin C blend, and 14 botanical extracts.
This cocktail of skincare goodies will help:

-Fight free radical damage
-Minimize the effects of environmental stressors on your skin
-Reduce the appearance of aging
-Hydrate and infuse a wholesome, healthy glow.

Size: 1oz

Aloe barbadensis Leaf Juice, Magnesium Ascorbyl Phosphate (Vitamin C), Ethoxydiglycol, Polysorbate 20, Sodium Hyaluronate (Hyaluronic Acid), Glycerin, Organic Glycyrrhiza glabra (Licorice) Root Extract, Organic Camellia sinensis (Green Tea) Leaf Extract, Organic Punica granatum (Pomegranate) Extract, Organic Rubus fruticosus (Blackberry) Fruit Extract, Organic Coffea robusta Seed Extract, Organic Vaccinium macrocarpon (Cranberry) Fruit Extract, Organic Vitis vinifera (Grape) Leaf Extract, Organic Euterpe oleracea (Acai) Fruit Extract, Organic Arctostaphylos uva ursi (Bearberry) Leaf Extract, Organic Lycium barbarum (Goji Berry) Fruit Extract, Organic Morinda citrifolia (Noni) Fruit Extract, Organic Rubus idaeus (Raspberry) Fruit, Organic Brassica oleracea Acephala (Kale) Leaf Extract, Xanthan Gum, Phenoxyethanol, Caprylyl Glycol, Ethylhexylglycerin, Hexylene Glycol. Dye and Fragrance Free.
One thing I really loved right off the bat was the packaging. Many serums come in a dropper-like bottle, however this one comes in a pump, which makes application so much easier. The packaging is sturdy and I would say 1-2 pumps provides a perfect amount of product to cover the face and neck.
 Scent and Consistency:
A great thing I noticed was that this product is fragrance and dye free. All too often vitamin C serums have that stinky "old orange" scent to it, or companies try to cover that scent up with harsh fragrances. The Yumi Serum has no scent at all, which is fantastic! The serum itself is clear, and rather than being thick and goopy, it's has a light, watery gel feel to it. Because of the consistency, it absorbed quickly and easily without any residue.

I have been using this serum for the past 4 days, so while I cannot speak on long-term effects, I can say that I have very high hopes for this product! So far, my skin has not broken out or become irritated while using this product, and I can definitely see a difference in the tone and appearance of my skin.

What I've Noticed:
-Brighter, even tone to skin
-No Breakouts
-Hydrating without leaving greasy residue
After a short time of use, I cannot speak on whether or not the anti-aging claims of this product are true, however I can confidently say that if you have acne-issues and avoid vitamin C products due to the risk of breakouts, this might be a great product for you to try. The ingredients are fantastic, the lack of fragrances and dyes make this a great option for sensitive skin, and the consistency feels refreshing and hydrating rather than heavy and oily. I even used this serum on the backs of my hands and I'm genuinely amazed at how soft and smooth they feel immediately after use.
Overall, I am very pleased with this serum up to this point, and I will continue to incorporate it into my skincare routine to see it's long-term effects!

I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.

  1. Wow, really surprised to see that Yumi has 25% vit c; that is quite high.. even higher than Skinceuticals which has 15% L-Ascorbic acid. Nice to see that it's on the affordable side too.
