Memebox: Miracle Masks Review and Unboxing

Memebox mask boxes have always been a sure thing for me. There have been quite a few mask-themed boxes that have been released, and I've picked up the majority of them. Each time, they've been filled with wonderous jars of gooey mask-like goodness, bountiful amounts of sheet masks, and even one of my holy grail products was nestled into a mask box: Skinfactory 7 Seconds Morning Sheets! All in all, they've been a box I could always count on. Masks are something I use frequently, and I am always in need of new ones! When I saw the Miracle Masks edition, I bought it so fast I almost forgot it even happened until I got the shipping notification!

(product info card tells you more information and how to use each product)

If you're new to Memebox, they are a website that sells Korean beauty products, but their most popular items are of course, the Memeboxes. These boxes are full of deluxe samples and full size Korean beauty products and are delivered to you all the way from Korea. Memebox has been kind enough to create a FAQs page that you can view HERE if you want more info on the boxes, as there are many to choose from!

This particular box is one of their special edition boxes, which are based around a specific theme.
"Miracle Masks" cost $23 plus $6.99 shipping, and includes 7 products.
From Memebox:
Take your pick from this box of specially curated mega masks that do everything-hydrate, detoxify, refine, brighten...and the list goes one! But most importantly, these miracle masks transform your not-so-great looking skin into luminous, plump, and miraculously soft skin! Kick off the Fall season with a great new box full of miraculous masks, and let it perform it's magic.

So, did this Mask Box live up to it's predecessors?

TO BE NANG: Snail Nutrition Hydro Gel Mask
(Full Size Product: $5)
TO BE NANG: 24k Snail Nutrition Hydro Gel Mask
(Full Size Product: $6)
TO BE NANG: Snail Anti-Wrinkle Face & Neck Mask
(Full Size Product: $3)
This is a set of 3 sheet masks from "TO BE NANG" who is completely unknown to me. 2 of them are Hydro Gel masks, which means the sheet is made up of a gel-like substance that is supposed to hold the essence better than a cotton or paper mask, although I'm never completely on board with that concept. Sometimes, I find that my hydro gel masks feel less saturated and dry up faster than my regular cotton/paper masks. But either way, one of these is a snail mucus moisturizing hydro gel mask, another is enriched with gold extracts to soothe, renew and rejuvenated sensitive skin. The last mask isn't listed as a hydro gel, but does say it's a "face and neck mask." I've used a few of these before, and if it's what I think it is, they are a pain in the ass to apply. It's like one giant sheet mask with a neck flap attached that wraps under the chin and then around the neck. I'm wondering if this one is in two pieces (which would be nice) although I haven't had a chance to open it up yet. The face and Neck mask is supposed to provide anti-wrinkle care as well as firmness and moisture.
I'm happy with these masks because, well, they're sheet masks. But more importantly because I love me some snails. Give me all the snails.

Purederm: Cucumber Eye Pads 24ct
(Full Size Product: $12)
Purederm is a respectable drugstore-like brand, and while I haven't been obsessed with everything I've received from them, I have enjoyed quite a few of their products. In a previous mask box, I recieved the orange spot pads that look very similar to these. I was never exactly sure how to use them, as I never really have a small, circular patch of dry skin that needs a fake orange slice on it. I feel like lotion works perfectly well for those issues. However, these cucumber eye pads are a bit different, as they are specifically for the eye-area. They're enriched with cucumber, and vitamin E, and are placed over the eyes to provide moisture and minimize puffiness. These can be used on other parts of the body and face, although again...lotion exists.
Apparently these bad boys leaked all over everything in many of the boxes that were shipped out, so I was very lucky to find a decent amount of liquid still in mine. I don't get too many leaked products happening in my memeboxes, thankfully!

ddung: Vitamin Wash-Off Pack
(Full Size Product: $12)
While the unfortunately named ddung products are kinds of creepy, they're actually based off a popular line of Korean dolls. So while I may be thoroughly disturbed about their appearance on these skincare products, they're probably pretty cute to some. I've also had pretty decent luck with the products I've tried from this line so far, so if I can get past the dead eyes staring at me from this tube, I might be able to enjoy this product! This is a vitamin-rich wash off facial mask that is enriched with macadamia seed oil and betaine, which help nourish and moisturize the skin. This mask will work to smooth, replenish and strengthen this skin to provide a more radiant complexion. This is used after cleansing by spreading it on the skin and leaving it for 3-5 minutes. Rinse with lukewarm water, then splash the face with cool water. I'm still on the fence about whether or not I want to keep this product, so for now- it'll sit in the "give away" drawer. I have heard some good things about it though, so maybe I'll suck it up and give it a try eventually.

Mise En Scene: Perfect Repair Treatment Pack
(Full Size Product: $16)
Mis En Scene is actually a pretty popular brand, and the hair products I've received by them through Memebox have all been very nice! While this is a repeat product (it was in a past global box, I believe) it is new to me! It contains 7 kinds of oil: argan, camellia, olive, jojoba, coconut, apricot and marula. It's a nourishing wash-off treatment for weak, damaged hair. It's applied after shampooing and rinsed off after 1-2 minutes...so essentially: it's a conditioner. I get lots of shampoos in Memeboxes, so it'll be nice to have this to pair up with some of them. My hair is super damaged from bleaching years ago, and now dying it monthly, so I can always use products that work to strengthen it!

Ladykin: Vanpir Dark Repairing Water Mask
(Full Size Product: $46)
Ladykin is also another favorite brand of mine that I discovered through Memebox, and we received a Vanpir cream in a past OMG box. I admittedly haven't tried the cream yet due to the hilariously overwhelming amount of product I have in my house, but getting this product reminded me that I definitely need to pull it out and start using it. This particular product is an anti-wrinkle, skin firming and repairing sleeping pack that is made from dragon's blood resin, adenosine and centella asiatia. It strengthens the skin's moisture barrier (which is super important to maintaining healthy skin!) as well as lifts aging skin by hydrating and nourishing while you sleep. It also contains goodies like vitamins, green tea and polyphenol that help balance and brighten the complexion.
This product sounds like the sleeping pack of my dreams in theory, so I am planning on moving this to the top of the sleeping pack list, and I will try it soon. My holy grail Lioele Waterdrop Sleeping Pack is coming to the end of the tube (wahhhhh) so I'm interested to see how this one compares!

Overall Thoughts
This box was $23 +$6.99 shipping, and had a total value of $100. Almost half of that value comes from the $46 Ladykin Water Mask, so I'm not entirely sure how I feel about the value of this box. Granted, it cost about $30 shipped, so the value is clearly there, but I'm just used to Memebox providing a much better value in their boxes overall. Is this a bad box? Not at all. In fact, it has lots of nice things in it! Granted it felt a little light product-wise, and I was surprised to see a hair conditioner in a box that is normally reserved for face masks.
Lately, there has been a lack of boxes being released in general, and the ones that are currently shipping have been less than exciting, so I'm starting to wonder what's going on with Memebox. Part of me thinks they put box releases on the Global site on hiatus while they launched Memebox China. Another part of me wonders if they're trying to push memeshop purchases instead of boxes. I hope that's not the case, because I'm really only interested in boxes. The value just can't be beat. Hopefully they can get it together and start releasing boxes more regularly in the new year. Fingers crossed.

  1. WHAT!! How did I miss out on this box?! Probably for the better, I have more than enough Meme-products for now but I just love masks!

    1. Don't worry, it is for the better! ;) It's not a bad box at all, it's just not one of those super exciting ones that make you get tons of box envy. There's a few nice things, but I'm sure I could find comparable products that cost less, so all-in-all, not the best box. But hey- sheet masks and sleeping packs are always used up in my house! ;)

  2. I really really hope that the new year will bring some sense into memebox and put them on the right track again! :-) In just a few months I fell in love with them and it would be so sad to see them ruin their success!
PS I am new to the kbeauty world but I really love your blog!! ^_^

    1. Thank you so much Pamela!! <3
I am hoping the same things as you are. I can't imagine that they would just stop releasing boxes, considering their name is memeBOX, y'know? At least that's what I keep telling myself. I can only hope that the slow down of boxes is mostly due to them launching the China site, as well as the craziness of the holiday season. If we don't start seeing more boxes being released once January hits...I'll start to be worried. For now, I'll just keep on buying the few that come out each month. At least it's less of a hit on my wallet! haha ;)

  3. That Vanpir cream sounds amazing! I now have way too much of that hair treatment. I'm sure it's good (it is Amore Pacific) but uhhggg, there's only so much hair stuff I can use #kbeautybloghop
