I feel like most of my Memebox unboxings start off with an explanation as to why I couldn't resist that particular box. I'm starting to come to grips with my hopeless addiction to kbeauty, I think. Knowing you have a problem is the first step, as they say, right? When Memebox first started releasing mask-themed boxes, I missed the first two. I had a serious case of box-envy after that, and I feel like the thing in my brain that tells me to not buy a mask box somehow vanished. I just can't stop myself from clicking that "add to cart" button. While my collection of sheet/wash off masks is anything but dwindling, I keep hoping to find another holy grail product in these boxes- like my Skinfactory 7 Seconds Morning Sheets. Certainly a box called "Wish Upon a Mask" would deliver such a product, right?
(product info card tells you more information and how to use each product)

Shara Shara: Real Sauce Mung Beans Mask (x2)
(Full Size Product: $2 ea)
OK, so my regular readers know by know that I joke on Shara Shara a LOT. Honestly their makeup is just terrible and their skincare, while decent, is nothing to write home about. Even so, I love my sheet masks. Love 'em. I have boxes of them piled up around my room because I love to have a huge variety for every skin ailment possible. I think my love stems from my laziness, because while I love wash off masks, I'd rather slap a sheet on my face while I'm laying in bed and then just drop it in the trash. So while I'm not a banner-waving fan of Shara Shara, you bet your butt I'll be keeping these! These masks contain mung bean extract, which has long been utilized as a skin detoxifying and clarifying ingredient. They're highly rich in proteins vitamins and dietary fibers that nourish and brighten the skin. So yea...these are going right into my stash!
Inoface: Modeling Cup Pack in "Acerola"
(Full Size Product: $4)
Modeling cup packs are HUGE right now, it seems. I'm seeing them everywhere! I recently bought an entire kit of Ettang Modeling Cup Masks for a crazy good deal on the Memebox site. A set of 7 comes in a cute little "take out" box for only $17 and free shipping. Couldn't resist them! (you can buy those here if you're interested!)
This particular modeling cup is acerola (cherry) and is used to alleviate and rejuvenate skin. I find those terms kind of vague when it comes to skincare, so I was hoping for one of the other options that were available: Chlorella, Black Food, Propolis, Yogurt or Peppermint. Regardless, this will definitely get used because these things are so much fun to put on!
To use, simply mix the powder with water. They give you ratios on the info card, however I just add a little water at a time until it creates a thick, but spreadable paste. You want it to be mud-like: thick enough to sit on your face without dripping, but wet enough to spread easily. Then you apply the mixture to your face like any other mask and allow to harden for about 15 minutes. Once it's dry, it creates almost a rubber-like mask that can usually be removed in one fell swoop. I find that these kinds of masks really do make a difference in the feel and appearance of my skin.
To The Nature: Black Rice Eye Patches
(Full Size Product: $9)
I have been really into eye patches lately. I am a natural night owl (it's 3am as I type this!) yet I have to wake up around 8 A.M. for work. While I can normally function on a few hours of sleep each night, there are those days where I wake up like a zombie shambling aimlessly until I find my Keurig. My eyes tend to get puffy and scary-looking on those special zombie days, and hydro gel eye patches tend to work wonders for me! These are hands-down my favorite item in this box. They are called "Black Rice Eye Patches" but they're actually white in appearance. They are enriched with organic black rich extracts, rice bran, carrageenan, gold, adenosine, collagen, glucose, rosewood oil and more! These patches are all natural and gentle on all skin types. They help skin around the eyes by firming and lifitng, but I find they also have a lovely cooling effect that helps with puffiness. They are also incredibly simple to use!
When I wake up in the morning, I put these on for an hour or two before I hop in the shower. Sometimes I will use them at the end of a long day, or even wear them to bed! They start out feeling like a thick hydro gel sheet mask with a soft cotton backing, however once you remove them, you can see the gel side has diminished significantly, as if all the skincare magic has absorbed into your skin. I love love love these. I really need to find some low cost, quality eye patches to stock up on, because once I use these ones up I'm not going to have any left! Sadness.
AHC: Real Aqua Velvet Sleeping Pack
(Full Size Product: $30)
Something about the name, "Velvety Pack" makes me want to put this on all over my face immediately. It just sounds like it would feel super silky on the skin! This sleeping pack is used to balance out uneven skin tone and texture, is lightweight and non-sticky, and absorbs quickly into the skin. Like most sleeping packs, it forms a protective barrier that locks in moisture while you sleep. This contains niacinamide, adenosine, ice plant extracts, snail secretion (swoon) and birch tree sap. Sleeping packs are applied as the last step in your skincare routine, and are not washed off. Simply put this on over your lotion or cream and wait a few minutes for it to absorb a bit before going to sleep, or you'll have a sticky pillowcase in no time!
Banila Co.: Claypatra Mineral Salt Clay Pack
(Deluxe Sample: $2 / Full Size Product $17 )
I received this mask in a previous global box, and I ended up giving it away to a friend with some oily skin woes. This mask is made out of 100% pure mud that has been extracted fro the Dead Sea, and effectively removes oil, dead skin cells and external pollutants that are clogging up your pores. It is rich in naturally occurring minerals that hydrate and nourish the skin as well. It's used like a typical clay mask: apply it onto a clean face, wait 10 minutes for it to dry, and then rinse with warm water. Since it's a salt clay mask, it feels a bit gritty, so it's recommended to gently massage the mask while rinsing so to exfoliate dead skin cells off. While that sounds simply lovely, I have way too many clay masks at this point in time, so I will yet again be giving this away. It is a sample size, so I would say there's 1-3 uses in here depending on how much you use at a time.
Purederm: Yogurt Wash-off Pack in "Strawberry"
(Full Size Product: $7)
So this is pretty awesome! A box full of one-time use packets of strawberry yogurt mask! There are a whopping 15 packets in here! The mask is a wash-off type that is made from yogurt extracts, vitamin E and various fruit extracts. I could have received Kiwi or Strawberry. The kiwi helps control excess dead skin cells, and the Strawberry helps balance the skin and remove excess sebum and oil. I'm glad I got the strawberry one, because the only time I really use a wash off mask is when my skin is getting super oily. I really love the individual packets here, because I can toss these in my bag or grab one to apply before I get in the shower. Convenience. Love it! Even better, this is a Purederm product so it's affordable at only $7!
This box cost $23 + $6.99 shipping, and has a total value of $56.
While I would normally hem and haw for an entire paragraph about the terrible value of this box, I just recently got a box (My Pouch Essentials) that was about $20 less in value than this one. So $56 is looking pretty dang good right about now. More importantly: this box rocks my world! I am completely fine with a so-so value if the box is curated well and contains useful products. This mask box has all kinds of awesome goodies, and I love that they're all low-priced! I want to fall in love with products that are affordable so I can repurchase them at a later date without breaking the bank. I already know I'm in love with the eye patches. I know I love Purederm products and sheet masks, so everything else is just gravy! Overall, I'm very pleased with the contents of this box. It restored my faith in the Meme-Mask boxes in general after the last one was a bit lackluster. I feel like I have more than enough masks for the time being, so while I might skip the next one that is released (wishful thinking), I think it will still have potential to be awesome!
