Memebox WTF: Wonderful Treasure Finds Review and Unboxing

Memebox got a little confused, I think. As I mentioned in my Wine and Cheese box review, I had ordered a bundle of 2 boxes: Wine and Cheese and WTF: Wonderful Treasure Finds. Since there was an issue with Wine and Cheese, both boxes were delayed for quite some time. Finally, Memebox offered a deal of either shipping the boxes at an even later date (as well as 12 meme points as an apology for the issue) or a full refund. Now I didn't really mind waiting for the boxes, but I'm going to be honest: Once I see spoilers for a box I am immediately less excited about it. I cannot resist a spoiler because I'm ridiculously impatient. Unfortunately, once the spoiler is shown to me, I could almost care less about the box until it gets here. Having said that, I decided that I would cancel my Wine and Cheese/WTF Boxes because I already had more than enough coming to me.
Strangely enough, I got a tracking e-mail and the very next day, the bundle arrived anyway. I'm not sure what happened on Memebox's end, but I am very happy that they magically made their way to me anyway! That way I have more Memeness to unbox for you guys, and more things to squirrel away for a future giveaway!

I was totally unsure as to what exactly the WTF box was going to contain. The description was pretty vague, but I guessed it would be new and interesting products to the kbeauty world. I was a little worried about it being filled with makeup, as I haven't had the best luck with the makeup in Memeboxes. Interestingly enough, this turned out to be quite a unique box!
(product info card tells you more information and how to use each product)

If you're new to Memebox, they are a website that sells Korean beauty products, but their most popular items are of course, the Memeboxes. These boxes are full of deluxe samples and full size Korean beauty products and are delivered to you all the way from Korea. Memebox has been kind enough to create a FAQs page that you can view HERE if you want more info on the boxes, as there are many to choose from!

This particular box is one of their special edition boxes, which are based around a specific theme.
"WTF: Wonderful Treasure Finds" cost $23 plus $6.99 shipping, and includes 7 products.

From Memebox:
There's really nothing quite like the thrill of uncovering new, under-the-radar beauty products and sharing the discovery with someone you know. Same with us! Even though we secretly enjoy keeping our new beauty obsessions a little secret, it's kind of our job to spread the love about these rookies! So, get ready to give your beauty stand a wonderful makeover with this box full of WTF, and get rady to be obsessed with these wonders that have already housed themselves in our makeup stands and bathrooms!

  TonyMoly: Mr. Smile Patch
(Full Size Product: $2)
OK this thing is ridiculous on all sorts of levels...and I love it! My fiance has a handlebar mustache that he is ridiculously proud of, so when he saw me pull this product out of the box he said, "omg when you wear that, we have to take a picture of us together!" Because how perfect would that be?
This is essentially a hydro gel patch that is placed over smile lines on the face. It contains blueberry, black bean, black sesame seed and mulberry extracts, which help to smooth out and firm up the skin along your smile lines...and also make you look super cute/hilarious.

MUMUR: Air Waterdrop Cooling Hand Cream in "Snow Blossom"
(Full Size Product: $9)
More hand creams! Yes! This hand cream is completely and totally different from every other one that I own, in that it comes out like a gel, however it turns to a dew-like watery consistency as soon as you begin to rub it into your skin. It's apparently called "Snow Blossom" because it looks "as if a snowflake has melted on your hands." It's packed with hyaluronic acid and free of parabens, ethanol, benzophenon, artificial coloring, and artificial fragrance. Or...any fragrance at all for that matter. I can't smell a thing when I apply this, and it doesn't feel very moisturizing. However, if you're familiar with hyaluronic acid serums, you'll know that they feel very watery and absorb almost immediately. This hand cream feels a lot like that. While you may be used to the idea of feeling lotions on your skin, this one is perfect for someone who doesn't like the greasy-feeling of a hand lotion. It absorbs so fast that you won't feel like you put on anything at all!

dearberry: Play Choux in "Peach Choux"
(Full Size Product: $13)

This is a lightweight primer that creates a smooth canvas for your makeup. It color corrects while helping makeup glide on evenly. There were two options that could have been in this box: Lemon Choux, which helps brighten and even out the complexion and Peach Choux, which adds a healthy lit-from-within glow to the face. I received Peach Choux, and I think it's absolutely stunning! It reminds me a LOT of the Holika Holika Aqua Jelly Starter in consistency and application. They even have the same spatula applicator and a very similar finish on the skin. Once the Peach Choux is blended in, it looks very natural. There's not strange shimmer on the skin at all, but it does make my face look more luminous. You can apply this right to your skin before putting on a foundation or BB cream, or you can mix it into those products. I like that it's versatile, and that there's so much of it! I'm interested to play with this a bit more and see what it can do!

Skindeco: Comedo AC Power Serum
(Full Size Product: $36)
I've been hearing some good things about this serum. It's one of those skincare products that is made with very skin-safe ingredients that are also very effective on sensitive and acne-prone skin. This particular serum is enriched with ginger and garlic, which soften roughened skin texture while removing excessive oil and dirt that are clogging up pores. The result is a healthier, more glowing complexion. This definitely does not smell like garlic or ginger, so no need to worry about that! I've been searching for a serum that will pair well with my current essence, and I think I found it! I wanted to find something that wouldn't upset my acneic skin, but would also be effective in controlling oil and dirt. If I love this as much as I think I will, I can guarantee a more in-depth review to come!

Elinette: BMS Cure Cream
(Full Size Product: $65)
This is a moisturizing cream that is made for people with dry/normal skin, and uses BMS technology to boost the functions of antioxidants and minerals, which help to stimulate skin turnover. Meaning it helps your skin sort of rebuild itself. The faster and more efficient your skin is at doing this, the younger and more fresh your skin will look. This cream softens, soothes, moisturizes and firms up the skin. I've tried this a couple of times and it feels absolutely lovely on my skin. It really melts in and makes my face feel super moisturized! It has an herbal-y medicinal smell to me, but it's not bothersome in my opinion. I do have a dry-skinned friend who has been begging me for a cream that will work to keep his face moisturized, so I think this will be a good one for him!

Bath Charm Store: Dead Sea Salt Pearl Natural Soap
(Full Size Product: $6)
Uhm, how cute is this soap? It's a little clam shell with a yellow pearl peeking out, and it smells kind of like a green, fresh floral. It's 100% natural and made from dead sea salt, pearl powder shea butter, hyaluronic acid, jojoba oil, lavender essential oil and natural rose fragrance. It's made to be gentle on skin while brightening the complexion and treating trouble spots. It's meant to be a face soap, although I always say-most face soaps can also be used on the body, and I have a feeling this will end up in my fiance's soap dish. He just loves bar soaps and I on the other hand, just can't be bothered with them! This one does seem like a cute one to gift or display, though!

Yadah: Capsule Tok Soothing Gel
(Full Size Product: $11)
This is your standard aloe vera soothing gel. It contains green aloe capsules that soothe and moisturize and yellow vitamin capsules that brighten complexion. It's a mix of aloe vera water, green tea extracts and cactus flower extracts, and it's used to cool and soothe the skin while moisturizing. It also contains witch hazel and lotus water extracts that treat and firm up clogging pores. Most people have a zillion aloe gels, however I've given most of mine away as I always felt like I wouldn't use them. This might be a great one for me to try, although I have a feeling one of my wonderful family members is going to want to snag this!

Overall Thoughts
This box cost $23 + $6.99 shipping and has a total value of $142.
I'm actually pretty thrilled that Memebox accidentally sent this box to me! The Power Serum looks absolutely amazing and I truly can't wait to integrate it into my nighttime routine and see how it works for my skin! I also love the smile patch, primer and hand cream! The rest of the products included here are all very nice, although I think I can find them a better home with my friends and family that will appreciate them more than I could! I'm not really sure how an aloe gel, bar soap, primer and face cream are very new, exciting or under-the-radar (as per the theme) however, I can see a small amount of curation here. I think they tried with this box, at the very least. I can't see anyone being unhappy with this box, as I feel like there is something here for everyone, and lots of nice giftable things as well!

  1. I think this is a box I would purchase. I am waiting a review about the serum ;)
I think they should decribe the box more as a WTF unusual than new since some products seems to be really different from usual, but I think overall you got lucky to receive this box even if you cancelled the order :p
Waiting for reviews of the new memeboxes coming :)))

    1. Thanks Rossella! :D I will be sure to work on a serum review as soon as I can! December is always super busy for subscriptions and blog posts, and I like to give skincare some time before I make my decision on it, so stay tuned! ;)

  3. I got the lemon choux and it is just wonderful for my skin tone!! I have a warm tone, so I am glad I got that one. It works the same way as the peach choux does for you :) I love this box - I personally think it is better than wine & cheese. Sometimes the boxes I have no expectations for turn out to be sleeper hits!

    1. When I saw the spoilers for this box I wasn't too excited, which is why I canceled the bundle, but I really think this is way better than I expected it to be now that it's in my hands! Lots of useful and interesting products, and it was nice and full!

  4. I purchased this bundle and held my breath that the WTF would actually be wonderful. My box just arrived two days ago so haven't had a chance to try anything yet but it sounds like some of the products will be ones I'll enjoy although I'd have been better off with the peach choux than the lemon choux.

    1. I think this is a really fantastic box, especially for one that I didn't expect much from. When I picked it up and felt how heavy it was I was super excited! It's jam-packed with a really wide variety of goodies! I felt the same way about the lemon choux at first, but I did read some other bloggers reviews and they've had great luck with it! Give it a shot, it might surprise you! ;)
