PopSugar Must Have Box December 2014 Review and Unboxing

I was thrilled to see my December PopSugar Must Have Box on my doorstep much earlier this month than last. Since this is my favorite subscription box, the less time I have to wait to tear into it, the better!
I did check out spoilers for this month's box ahead of time, as I wanted to potentially buy an extra box or two for gifting purposes if they were worthwhile. Needless to say, PopSugar nailed it yet again and this is an absolutely fantastic box. I picked up a second one at 50% off as a gift, and I'm so glad I did!
If you're not familiar with PopSugar Must Have Box, I've got to say it's my absolute, hands-down favorite subscription. I've had sub boxes come and go- but PopSugar is consistently high valued, curated well, and includes unique and interesting items. They don't just focus on one type of product, either! They include cosmetics, skincare, snacks, home decor, jewelry, books, kitchen gadgets- you name it! I think that the variety is what makes this box so special.

The Cost
PopSugar is $40 per month, however you can save more by buying a longer subscription, or if you gift yourself a box each month, you can use the frequent coupon codes they have available (usually monthly) that range from $5 off, to sometimes $20 off!
Now let's dig into the November Box!

SPUN By Subtle Luxury: Speckled Metallic Scarf ($62)
This scarf is absolutely beautiful! It has a great length to it, so it can be wrapped a few different ways. The gold metallic flecks are so festive and pretty without being too much. The fabric is super soft and thin, so you can wear it comfortably throughout the day/night. Very happy with this!

Canvas Dauville: Platinum Bowl ($29)
This bowl was a bit smaller than I anticipated, but I'm actually happy that it is! I thought it would be the size of a cereal bowl when I saw the spoilers, but it's more the size of a bowl you would use for a dip at a party. It's the perfect size to hold jewelry, a votive candle, or even a nice place to drop your keys at the end of the day. The platinum interior looks very luxe!

Sparklepop: Sydney Necklace ($42)
I loved this necklace when I saw the spoilers, but I love it even more in person! This is an 18k gold plated necklace and it's quite long. It's the perfect sweater pendant, or a stunning piece to layer with other necklaces. I'm telling you- the stone sparkles like CRAZY, and looks much nicer and more quality than I anticipated it to. I'm absolutely in love with this and can't wait to wear it on Christmas Day!

Smashbox: Be Legendary Long-Wear Lip Lacquer ($24)
I love Smashbox, and I love deep, vampy reds for this time of year, so this is probably the perfect lip product for me right now. This beautiful Bordeaux colored lip lacquer is kind of like a liquid lipstick, except it stains the lips so the color stays on even after the gloss has faded. I think it's an absolutely perfect color to pair with a holiday look, and probably will be a go-to color for me through the rest of Winter!

Knot & Bow: Parcel Tags ($4)
PopSugar has a tendency to include some sort of gift wrapping item in the December boxes. Last year they included a wrapping paper/twine/gift tag set that I actually enjoyed. Many people had issues with it being included, since many people bought the box as a gift- and it's a little weird gifting someone holiday wrapping paper. However, these cute parcel tags are a festive blue shade, and could definitely be used in many different ways- whether it be for a gift or for a craft, they're not holiday-exclusive, so they still work in this box as part of a gift. I will definitely be using mine to top off some special gifts this year!

Williams Sonoma: Cupcake mix in "Vanilla Bean" ($14.95)
PopSugar also tends to include an edible product in most of their boxes, and I love the fact that they've included a baking mix this time! So much holiday baking goes on in my house, and sometimes it's nice to just make something for myself to enjoy! This way also, I won't have to slap my fiance's hand away from the goodies I'll be baking! This would also make a really cute addition to a gift since the tin is so adorable! The only thing I was bummed about is that this only makes 1 dozen. I'm used to my cupcake mixes providing quite a bit more cupcakes, but that's just a small issue.
Overall Thoughts
This box costs $40 per month, however I only paid $20 for this box with a coupon. The total retail value is $176! I think this is one of the best boxes I've received from PopSugar. Everything in the box this month was right up my alley in regards to personal style, and is the perfect box to gift to almost any of the special ladies in one's life. The only thing for me that I found taste-specific was the Smashbox lip lacquer. Not everyone is open to deep reds, but I still think it was more than appropriate for a holiday box.
This was a great way for PopSugar to close out a very hectic 2014, and it really makes me excited for what they have in store for 2015! The January box cannot come soon enough!

    1. Oh that is SUCH a good idea for a white elephant gift! I can bet people will be fighting over it for sure! I agree that this and the For Her box were absolutely outstanding. I'm rarely disappointed by PopSugar. I tend to avoid the $100 boxes because I expect a LOT for that kind of money and I tend to not have envy when I see them unboxed, but the For Her box....ugh I would kill for that! The illume candle is stunning, the throw...omg that throw! The polish is classy and unique, I LOVE the Kate Somerville product...I could go on. LOL PopSugar and I have had a year-long love affair and it's going to keep on rolling into 2015!
