Memebox Birthday Box

I am overflowing with memeboxes, guys. I have them stacked to the rafters. I open a drawer and there's pink boxes poking out in every direction. While this is probably one of the most awesome things to be overwhelmed with, it does mean I have to bang out a chunk of Memebox reviews all at once. I can't help it- I'm addicted! If you love Memebox, that can be a good thing! But for those of you waiting on some, well, variety- I promise it's on it's way!
Memebox was wonderful enough to send me this box for review, and as lovely as it is- I'm still trying to figure out why it's called the Birthday Box! This box was shipped out in early July, so while it's not available for purchase anymore, it will give you a nice idea of what Memebox has to offer!
From the Memebox site:
Give the gift of gorgeous for any occasion this July with Memebox’s Birthday Box! Packed with only the cutest and most charming goodies, this Birthday Box will perfectly pamper your favorite gal pals from head to toe! This premium brand features only the most high-quality total spa care products that is suitable for all ages, and for a limited time, it's up for an exclusive deal only at Memebox! So, don’t miss this limited-time only chance to truly show appreciation for all the favorite women in your life!
I think the Birthday Box was created so that you could give it to your girlfriends for their special day, which is the only thing I can think of that makes it a Birthday Box. But enough about my confusion with the name- let's get into the goodies!

(product info card tells you more information and how to use each product!)

If you're new to Memebox, they are a great website that sells Korean Beauty products, but their most popular items are of course, the Memeboxes. These boxes are full of deluxe sample and full size Korean beauty products and are delivered direct from Korea. I usually take the time to explain a bit further, but Memebox has been kind enough to create a FAQs page that you can view HERE if you want more info!
This particular box is one of their Superboxes, which contain all full size products, and are usually curated around a specific theme or brand. The Birthday Box cost $29 plus $6.99 shipping. This box was revealed prior to purchase on the site, so you could take a look at the items in side and decide whether or not you were interested.

1. i belivyu: Flower Hand Creams
(Full Size Product: $36)
These little flower hand lotions come in a set, and contain vitamin E, shea butter, argan oil, organic plant extract and flower extracts that differ depending on the scent of the lotion. The set includes Rose, Sunflower, Lavendar and Safflower. While I find these lotions absolutely adorable, I'm not a big fan of floral scents in lotions, so I will be passing these on to my gal pals- which is kind of what the box intended for anyway, so we're all good there!

2. i belivyu: All-in-One Hair and Body Wash
(Full Size Product: $14)
As amazing as Korean skincare is, I love me some Korean haircare! I can't tell you how much my hair has improved since I started getting Memeboxes! This is a hair and body wash in one, and contains apricot, carrot, green tea, chamomile, rosemary and a bunch of other fancy things that I can't pronounce. These kinds of 2-in-1 products are great when you have a tiny shower and need to save space, or if you're going on vacation and want to pack lightly. Since I have a claw foot tub, and only one tiny shelf on the wall for all of my things (and for the 2 other people that live with me) these kinds of products work really well as space-savers. The cleanser is creamy and smells absolutely divine! Very excited to try this out!

3. i believyu: Cube Sparkling Lemon Sugar Scrub
(Full Size Product $24)
The packaging. SO chic! At first glace I thought these were those little bath bombs that you toss into your bath water, but they're actually individually-sized sugar scrubs! I love me a good scrub, as the skin on my body gets super dry- even in summer! These are filled with various vitamins and minerals, as well as baking soda, which help to get rid of dead skin and blackheads and other pore-clogging nonsense. It says they are lemon-scented, but I would describe it more a a lemon-floral. It's very nice!
You can use these on your face AND body, not to mention it can also be put in your bath water like a bath bomb. You simply get the amount of cubes you need, wet and crush them up in a towel or in your hands. Memebox suggests using 1 cube for your face, 2-3 for your body and 4-5 for a bath. There aren't that many in a tube, so I'd probably avoid using them in a bath if you want them to last!

4. i believyu: Powder Wash Vitamin Face Cleanser
(Full Size Product: $24)
This is another product that had me fooled. After I oohed and ahhed over the pretty packaging, I quickly assumed that these were bath salts. However, this is actually a pretty unique product! This is a powder-type facial cleanser that gently exfoliates, and nourishes your skin with macadamia and olive oils. You use them by sprinkling a dime-sized amount into your hands, wet it and massage onto your face to create a lather. I haven't tried this out yet since I'm finishing up a different cleanser, but I can't wait to give this a go!

In case you didn't notice during the review, every single product in the Birthday Box is made by a company called, "i believyu." While I'm curious as to why they didn't just call this box the "i believyu Box" as they have with brand-specific boxes in the past, I've got to say I was very happy with this box! The total value of the Memebox Birthday Box is: $98, which I think is a fantastic value. The contents of this box really do work well as a gift for your close girl friends. The curation makes for a night of pampering, and the products are great for a Korean beauty beginner!

If you're interested in a non-mystery Memebox, or just want to know what's in your box before you buy, Memebox recently released a similar type of box that was revealed prior to purchasing. It's a collaboration with The Pink Diary, and can be viewed/ purchased HERE.

Hope Girl Cosmetics Review

If you're a Memebox fan, then you've probably seen the adorable packaging of Hope Girl products gracing the interiors of your bright pink boxes over the last couple of months. Memebox was wonderful enough to send me some of the  Hope Girl products to review, and for the past week I've been testing them out. I can't tell you how many times I took these out in public and had someone ask me where I got them. Leopard print packaging is irresistible!

There are currently 42 different Hope Girl products available in the Memeshop, but these are just a few that have been featured in past or upcoming Memeboxes!

(Memeshop Retail Price: $49. Currently on Sale for $42)

This silky silica powder contains sweat absorbing micro particles that will help keep you feeling fresh all night. This scented powder will give you seductive yet subtle scent that will last all throughout the night.
I received this product in the 10 Minute Box, and I hadn't even bothered to try it much at first. However, this past weekend my fiance and I had a big cookout and invited all of our friends. It was pretty humid, and my skin kept getting sticky and gross. I remembered that I had this Powdery Body Perfume in my room so I tried it out! The scent I have, "Berry Berry Kiss" is a light, fruity floral scent. It's incredibly subtle, but just enough to dry your skin on those humid summer days and leave behind a fresh scent. To get the powder out, you simply press the puff onto wherever you want the powder to go. It releases up through the bottom of the puff. If you want a heavier application, you can also unscrew the puff and dip it directly into the powder. This powder is also available in the scents "Sweety Blossom" and "Tropical Lovers."

(Memeshop Retail Price: $22)
Get 3-in-1 volumizing, lengthening and curling with this Wonder Magic Mascara Black! The specially designed brush features staggered bristles that grab close to the root, boosting length and volume beyond belief. The tip uses precision bristles to lift, define, and curl even your tiniest lashes.
I'm usually pretty picky about my mascaras. I have white-blonde lashes naturally, so I need a very pigmented, very lengthening/thickening mascara to do the job right. I honestly wasn't expecting much from this mascara, but I was pleasantly surprised! The brush is the only thing I was a bit annoyed by. I don't really understand the hourglass shape mascara wands. It just makes it harder to coat the middle lashes, and the thicker tip makes it hard to get into the corners and get the smaller lashes.
Even so, This mascara coated and lengthened my lashes very nicely. I used 3 coats, but you could definitely use one and get a very natural look to your lashes. The 3 coats I used went on easily with no clumping, lengthened and thickened my lashes. My lashes were still flexible, not dried out, and there wasn't any issues with flaking.
I have other mascaras that perform as well as the Wonder Magic Mascara, but I really think this is a good quality product. The cute packaging is kind of what sets it over the edge for me. If it had a slightly different shape to the brush it would be perfection!

(Memeshop Retail Price: $22)
Hope Girls’s Milky Balm Lipstick is the ultimate creamy smooth long-lasting lipstick that stays put for up to 10 hours! Get famously beautiful lips that stand out from the crowd with these gorgeous lip colors packed with vitamin E. It's guaranteed to keep your lips feeling smooth and looking marvelous every second of the day!
This is another Hope Girl product that I am quite familiar with! I received the shade "Red Burgundy" in my 10 Minute Box. It's a deeper, brick red, so I haven't used it as much as I would like to. I have a feeling it's going to be a regular for me in the fall, though!
These lipsticks come in 25 different shades. This particular shade you see above is "Chicago Red." This tone is definitely more of a "true red" with a hint of cherry thrown in. It's definitely more of a wearable red, in that it will look good during any season. This lipsticks are super creamy and comfortable to wear, and tint the lip slightly. From the few time I've tried them, they stay on for at least 4-5 hours without having to reapply. Whenever I wear red, I check it incessantly since it's so easy to smear or wear off. These do relatively well, although the shine of the lipstick wore away after a few hours. I would definitely buy more of these in different shades. I can't tell you how many people stop and ask me what lipstick I'm applying when I pull out the cute little leopard print tube!

(Memeshop Retail Price: $14)
Hope Girl’s professional-quality nail lacquers are densely pigmented, quick-drying and super long-lasting. The results are unique camera-ready nails just moments after application.
This was another Hope Girl product that was in the 10 Minute box. I received the shade 'Gold Shine' then, and this time I got "Natural Aura." There are in total, 9 different shade choices. The two are actually quite similar, as they both have the gold glitter polish. This trio, however, has a peachy neutral, and a medium brown neutral along with the gold. I did a quick swatch of each so you can see how they apply. Each swatch was done with 2 coats of polish. It's hard to tell in the picture, but the non-glitter shades do have some shimmer to them, which makes them multi dimensional and really pretty when it catches the light. I was actually pleasantly surprised yet again with these polishes. The first set I had was stolen by my wonderful Mom, so I never got to try it out myself. I'd say while these polishes are pretty typical in regards to application, color payoff etc, I found that they were a great consistency which made it much easier for me to apply. Secondly, they seemed to dry a lot faster than many of my other polishes. I also love how the glitter polish applies You get a nice layer of glitter on the nail and not just the clear polish that the glitter is floating in.  I think you could create a really lovely gradient look with these!

(Memeshop Retail Price: $28)

This mineral rich coral and pearl powder keeps your skin looking healthy and youthful. Fine powder particles in the blusher allow for the blush to closely adhere to the skin, which prevents the makeup from becoming cakey or over-drying.
I love me a good blush. I also love adorable packaing. So when I saw this little beauty, I could not WAIT to try it out! The Hope Girl blushes come in 5 different shades, this one being "Lovely Pink." Of course it's housed in the signature leopard and gold compact that Hope Girl is known for! Inside, you find a pretty pink blush as well as a brush that is included and housed inside the lid of the compact. Believe it or not, the brush is actually densely packed and pretty decent. I don't normally keep brushes that come in compacts, but this one I definitely will.
The formula of the blush is pigmented and feels incredibly soft on the skin. The only issue I had with this particular shade is that it doesn't show up on me very well. There are plenty of ladies out there that just want a hint of pink on their cheeks, and for them, this shade would be perfect. For me, I like to look like a doll, or maybe even Dolly Parton, haha. I'm a blush fanatic! So this super pale shade probably won't work for me. Even so, I know plenty of ladies that are just getting into makeup, or who like a very natural flush that are going to enjoy this!

Overall Thoughts
I'm loving the Hope Girl products that I have been able to try so far. Many of them have surprised me and been a lot better than I expected them to be. I can say that in comparison, they are close to a expensive drugstore brand in regards to quality. I find that they are slightly over-priced, but I think I would definitely purchase more lipsticks at their retail price because they're so dang comfortable and pigmented!

If you're interested in trying out some Hope Girl products without buying a bunch of full sizes and breaking the bank, I stumbled upon this ADORABLE kit called the "Hope Girl Summer Package" available in the Memeshop.

You get ALL these products for only $36. The kit come with eyeliner, mascara, cream shadow (you choose the shade), tinted lip balm, nail polish, lemon nail polish remover, cotton pads, skin primer, cleansing foam and black ginseng essence! You can get this kit HERE.

Memebox Cacao Edition!

I'm just going to be honest with you right off the bat: I went a little Meme-Crazy (who doesn't?) and ended up with THREE Memeboxes in my hands in less than 24 hours. So be prepared for a chunk of unboxings over the next few days! I could barely keep my eyes off my mailbox once I saw my Memebox Cacao Box had shipped! I'm kind of a chocolate fiend, and to make matters worse, I love food/bakery scented candles and beauty products. As most of you know, I recently had surgery which has left my stomach at a point where it can't handle much more than soft, unprocessed foods, which means I haven't had chocolate in a month! This box has been on my mind all month, as I definitely think it's a way to enjoy chocolate without eating it! It feels like this box too forever to arrive (the impatience is astounding!), but now that it's here I'm super excited to share it with you!

(product info card tells you more information and how to use each product!)
If you're new to Memebox, they are a great website that sells Korean Beauty products, but their most popular items are of course, the Memeboxes. These boxes are full of deluxe sample and full size Korean beauty products and are delivered right into your excited little hands. I usually take the time to explain a bit further, but Memebox has been kind enough to create a FAQs page that you can view HERE if you want more info!

This particular box is one of their special editions, which are curated around a specific theme. The Cacao box cost $23 plus $6.99 shipping. Most of the time, unless it's a "Superbox", Memeboxes usually contain a mix between full size and deluxe size samples. In the case of the Cacao box, all 6 items are Full Size! Score!

1. Pure Smile: Essence Mask in "Chocolate Milk"
(Full Size Product: $1)
Sheet masks are a part of my nightly routine. I use them every other night, so it's always a huge joy to see them in my Memeboxes. I received a Pure Smile mask in my Milk Box and I enjoyed it, so I'm down for using this one too! While I haven't broken this one open yet, It's on my night stand waiting to be used tonight. I am hoping and PRAYING it smells like chocolate goodness! (Edit: It totally does smell like chocolate! Yay!) This particular mask contains Milk proteins, vitamin E, and collagen which help hydrate and smooth out the skins texture. I also noticed that the Pure Smile mask shape tends to fit my face a lot more smoothly than other masks. I don't have to make the eye holes larger, or fold down a huge chunk of the forehead for once! While that will be different for everyone, so far it seems these masks fit better for me than any other brand!
If you've never used a sheet mask before, they're basically a sheet of thin fabric that looks like a mask. The fabric is soaked in a skincare essence, and you simply unfold them, place the mask on your face, and smooth out. It's good to have a pair of scissors on hand in case you have to snip a few places to make it fit perfectly. After that, you just wait 15-20 minutes, peel off the mask and throw it away. Rub in the excess essence on your face until it's absorbed.

2. Etude House: Milk Talk Body Wash
(Full Size Product $7)
Etude House is a crazy-popular Korean brand, and they're known for their adorable packaging. I mean, look at this little chocolate milk bottle?! This is an apparent favorite among EH fans as it has amazingly chocolatey scent. Seriously it smells amazing! You can use this as a typical body wash, or pour some into a bath. I haven't used this yet because I'm weird about "using up" products and I still have some body wash left in my shower. But I'm counting down the days until I can loofah with chocolatey goodness!

3. Pure Smile: Choosy Lip Scrub in "Choco Latte"
(Full Size Product: $11)
I received a different scent of this same product in my Milk Box as well, so this was a bit of a let down to see. This scrub smells even better than the Chamomile one, however I don't find these scrubs to be very, well, scrubby. The look and feel like a lip balm, and when you finally do dig around long enough to find the grains, they're so few and far between. The formula is just way too thick and applying it to the lips doesn't do much other than leave a greasy-feeling. It might be a product that just doesn't do it for me. One of the very few products that I'm not really into from Memebox.

4. Purederm: Nose Pore Strips in "Choco Cacao"
(Full Size Product: $6)
You guys, I love pore strips. There is something so ridiculously sickeningly satisfying about pulling one of these bad boys off my nose and seeing all the nasty gunk that came out of my pores. These particular nose strips are very similar to your standard Biore strips that we have around here, however they're brown. Oh, and they smell like a cup of hot chocolate! I used one of these this morning and I found that it adhered more strongly than a Biore strip, which also produced a better result for me. I was feeling pretty cocky since I've been using my Clarisonic very frequently. I thought "Oh my pores look pretty good, this probably won't do a whole lot but I'll try it anyway." Yea...I was wrong. There was probably more on this strip than I've seen on any past strip. I'm incredibly happy with the performance of these. My only issue is that it did leave some brown-colored residue on my nose that was a bit sticky. Once I got it rinsed off though, it was all good!

 5. WonderRuci: Cacao Brightening Mask
(Full Size Product: $38)
This product was the spoiler that Memebox released for this box, and when I saw it, I knew it would be love at first sight! Not only does this mask LOOK like hot fudge, it smells like it too! I had to resist not taking a spoon to the jar! The mask is beautifully packaged, and is supposed to cleanse away dirt and impurities as well as moisturizing and brightening your complexion. You're to use this mask after toner application. You apply it just like any other mask, avoiding the mouth area even though it might be hard! Rinse after 15 minutes and voila! I have yet to try this one out, but I am looking forward to it!

6. Evas: Vitamin Cleansing Dessert Magic Cream Soap in "Coconut and Cacao"
(Full Size Product: $18)
The outer packaging of this product is just so cute! It looks like a little ice cream shop on wheels! This product was confusing to me at first, but the card explains that you lather this cream soap on your hands and when it foams, you apply it to your face and massage it in like you'd use a regular cleanser. Rinse off and pat dry. Simple enough! This cleanser is gentle on skin and contains micro-foam particles that get in your pores and clean them out! All of these Cacao products are supposed to really clean out pores, apparently, so I'm hoping they work on my giant craters!

The total value of the Memebox Cacao Box is: $81. While that's actually on the lower side value-wise for Memebox, It's almost 4x the $23 price tag. I found this box to be wonderfully curated, and with the exception of the lip scrub, I will absolutely use everything! I love the scent of the products, and find many of the will be useful for my large pores. This is one of the best boxes I've received recently, and I'm hoping that Memebox continues this trend of really great boxes!

Jamberry Nails Review

(Disclaimer: I am not affiliated in any way with Jamberry Nails, and this review is my true and honest opinion on the product.)

If you read my blog regularly, you may have seen me mention that I am not a nail fanatic. I paint my nails regularly, have a few shelves full of sparkly polishes, but it might be the one beauty product I get the least excited about. I think that might be because doing my nails takes soooo long because I'm a perfectionist, and more importantly I'm also incredibly impatient and end up ruining the polish before it's dry. My body always decides I desperately have to use the bathroom about 30 seconds after I paint my last coat of polish on, and keeping my freshly painted nails in pristine condition while wiggling out of my jeans isn't exactly the easiest task!

I have also tried a few brands of nail wraps before, which I have always enjoyed for the most part. If you've never heard of nail wraps, they are basically fancy stickers that go on top of your nails and stick there for usually around a week or so. You can get all kinds of different patterns and colors, and some look really professional. They're a lot cheaper than going to a salon, and pretty easy to do while you're watching an episode of Grey's Anatomy.

I was recently contacted by a lovely lady named Rizza, who asked if I could do a truthful and honest review on Jamberry Nail Wraps. She is an independent consultant for Jamberry, and while I normally turn down these offers, I have been pretty curious about these and would love to help a fellow lady out in her business!

So while some of you may already be fans, or have heard of Jamberry, I'm sure there are some of you (like myself) who are just starting to hear about them!

 What is Jamberry?
Jamberry sells mostly nail wraps, but they also carry lots of nail care products and accessories, as well as nail lacquers. They have even recently launched a subscription box that costs $25 a month with free shipping. The company carries 300+ designs, which means there really is a style for everyone!

How Much Do the Wraps Cost?
One sheet of nail wraps costs $15 (USD)/ $17 (CAD) and it includes 18 nail wraps, which can be used for 2-3 applications. This was confusing to me at first, but I will explain below in a bit more detail. Either way, getting 2-3 applications (they work on toenails too!) is a great deal for $15. They also sell Jamberry Juniors nails for children up to at least 8 years old. They come with five to six applications!

Any Deals?
When you buy 3 sheets, you get a sheet for free!

Browsing through their catalog, I couldn't believe how many different styles and prints there were!

I decided on the Mint Green and Gold Horizontal Pinstripe, since I wear a lot of mint colors in the summer!

Each sheet comes in it's own individual wrapping, and there are how-to instructions on the back. This is great if you intend on giving these as gifts!

When you take the Nail wraps out of the sleeve, you will see they are very long and varying in sizes. As I explained in the photo, You're supposed to cut them down the middle and use each side. I was easily able to find wraps that fit each of my nails pretty well, although there were a couple that had a tiny bit of nail left showing, but it was hardly noticeable! Once I used these, I definitely had enough wraps for one more application, and will have some left overs to use for accent nails and/or nail art.

How Do You Apply Them?
1. Push Back cuticles and clean nails with a nail prep wipe or rubbing alcohol.
(I used nail polish remover to prep my nails and it worked fine. You can also apply these over polish if desired, as long as it's a fresh, dry coat.)

2. Match nail (finger or toe) to the nail wrap that best fits.
(As I stated above, I was able to find very close matches for all my fingernails, although there were one or two that had very small gaps where my real nail was sticking out. It was hardly noticeable.)

3. Peel off nail wrap and warm with a mini-heater or blow-dryer for 3-5 seconds until soft and flexible.
(Confession time: I don't own a blow-dryer. I always let my hair air dry, so this step was skipped for me. This MAY have an effect on how well the nail wraps perform, so when doing these on your own, make sure you give each wrap a blast of hot air so they adhere better!)

4. When warm, press the wrap onto the nail. Apply pressure around the edges of the nail to adhere the wrap. Use a rubber cuticle pusher to seal the wrap around the base of the cuticle.

5. Trim the top with scissors and file off remaining wrap using a downward motion to remove excess.
(This can be tricky if you're not careful. I trimmed my wrap ahead of time and placed the other half on the plastic they came on, so I didn't have to trim it once it was on my nail. Once adhered, I simply bent the excess over the top of my nail and gently filed until it came off.)

6. Apply heat and pressure to the wrap again to ensure it's bonded to the nail.
(Again, I didn't have a heat source, so I rubbed the wraps pretty thoroughly to create heat friction and make sure they were stuck on as much as possible)

Here's how they turned out!
Even without the blow-dryer, I felt like they stuck well to my nails. I would recommend following their directions though if you want to be sure that they say on for the full 7-10 days. Even so, applying these took less than an hour, and I can only assume it will take less and less time the more you get used to applying them.

I kept track of how the wraps held up over the coming days. My blueberry plant decided to make an appearance in this Day 3 photo. The nail wraps looked and felt exactly the same on Day 3 as they did when I first applied them. There was no peeling and no fading like I have experienced with some of the drugstore wraps.

Day 6 arrived, and My wraps still looked fantastic. By this point, I had already received compliments from multiple people! This was a new world for me considering I'm not really a nail-art person. My nails are rarely in the spotlight! I was very happy with their performance thus far and already felt they were well worth their cost.

Day 7 arrived, and while my wraps were still going strong, I had an event to go to, and the mint/gold wraps didn't match the outfit I was wearing, so I decided to remove them at that point. They had lasted a full week without any issues! I did have one of my nails start to peel a tiny bit at the top, but I can most likely attribute that to me not using the heat when applying them.

To remove these wraps, You either use heat and gently peel them off, or soak them in polish remover and gently rub them off. I peeled them off (again without heat) with no issue and more importantly: there was NO damage to my nails. I have used some drugstore wraps in the past and since my nails are so thin, they have occasionally pulled layers of my nail off with them during removal. I love that these were so easy to remove without damage. The only issue I had was there was some glue/sticky residue, although that was removed easily with polish remover.

Overall Thoughts
While I'm not a nail-fanatic, I was actually really impressed with the quality of Jamberry's nail wraps. I found them to be relatively easy to apply and remove. It was very impressive that they lasted 7 days with very minimal peeling. I definitely think I could have easily continued to wear them for a few more days if I had chosen to. I find these wraps to be an excellent value, especially when you can use one sheet multiple times. These would be a fun gift for bridesmaids, children's birthday parties, sleepovers, you name it! Allure Sample Society July 2014

A few months back, I decided to subscribe to Beauty Bar's Sample Society so I could have a new subscription under my belt. I was really enjoying it for the first couple of months, but shortly after I realized the boxes were very skincare heavy, and not always well curated. Even though it wasn't too expensive at $15 a month, I decided I would unsubscribe as the boxes were unexciting.

Last month, beautybar.com had a huge warehouse sale of all their past sample society boxes. When that happened, I knew something big was coming! Allure has always partnered up with beautybar.com to produce these Sample Society boxes, but it seemed like it was more in name than anything else.
Interestingly enough, Sample Society was completely relaunched this month, with an all new look and higher end samples! I just could not pass it up and had to get my hands on one!

The great thing about the new Sample Society is that Allure has a bigger hand in what goes into the boxes now. The products included are must-haves straight from the editors of Allure. And look at how sleek the new boxes are!

Each Sample Society box comes with a informational booklet that gives you more information and how-to's on each product. In the past, these booklets had little to nothing to do with the samples that were in the box. Now, there's a letter from the Beauty Director at Allure, explaining the sort of theme for the box. This month was called "Summer Love" and Patricia explained that these products were all about paring down and finding summer essentials that make your beauty routine simple and easy during the hot summer months!

 1. Laura Mercier: Matte Radiance Baked Powder in "Highlighter 01"
This sample alone already made the box for me. I LOVE Laura Mercier, and I have been searching high and low for a highlight that doesn't make me look shiny and/or like I just slapped 8th grade shimmer on my cheeks. This highlight is so beautifully subtle. I just used my fingers to apply it to the tops of my cheekbones and it looks absolutely gorgeous. It really gives a natural "glow" which is exactly what I've been searching for. This could be a future holy grail product for me!

2. Butter London: Nail Lacquer in "The Old Bill"
I'm not a nail polish fanatic like some people, but I definitely love me some Butter London. They may be my absolute favorite high end polish. I just find their bottles so chic and pretty! Not to mention their polish is fantastic! There were 3 possible shades that were all metallics: bronze, rose gold and a taupe-silver. I received the bronze shade and it's absolutely lovely. I think it is a great metallic for summer, but could also be used in Fall as well!

 3. L'Oreal Paris: Extrordinaire by Color Riche Liquid Lip Color in "Ruby Opera"
I am a girl who is not afraid of a good red lipstick. Even so, I know that red can be a little high maintenance, especially in the Summer. This L'Oreal liquid lipstick is kind of perfect and I have basically been living in this shade since I got this box. The Ruby Opera shade is a bright, beautiful blue-toned red, which is perfect for my pale skin. It has a light, fruity scent and a easy-to-use applicator. It's glossy, yet there's medium/full coverage. A quick swipe will give you a juicy red tone. Another swipe will give full on ruby color! This is so easy to apply and it really stays on for a long time without having to re-apply over and over again. There were 4 different color possibilities, and I am SO happy to have gotten this one!

4. Maison Francis Kurkdjian Paris: Aqua Universalis
While I love myself a good perfume (I LIVE for Dior Addict!) I am never usually thrilled to get them in my subscription boxes as I am quite particular in regards to scent. The description of this scent is "A crisp citrus scent with a warm musky base. Sicilian bergamot and lemon, lily of the valley, mock orange blossom, musky woods."
It's hard for me to love a scent that isn't dark, musky and mysterious, but this one really is a perfect summer scent for me. It's bright and fruity but once it dries down it has a very light musk that is just perfection. It's super pricey so I don't think I'll be buying it any time soon, but I have tossed this little guy in my purse for those days when I forget to spritz on perfume!

5. Fekkai: PrX Reparatives Intensive Fortifying Masque
I've tried Fekkai products before and I've always enjoyed them, but this one definitely stands out as soon as you open up the jar. It smells SO good! The info booklet says it smells like vanilla pudding, and I'd say that's a close description! This mask promises to give super shiny and soft hair. All it take is 5 minutes one a week. I'm also happy that it can be used on thinner hair (which I have) without making it greasy or weighed down. I cannot wait to try it out!

This July Allure Sample Society box is absolutely one of the best subscription boxes I've received at this price point ($15). Each and every one of these items truly fits their theme. I feel like I could wake up, wash my hair and condition with the Fekkai masque. Paint my nails with a gorgeous metallic polish, dust some highlight on my cheekbones and sweep some red gloss on my lips. Finish it off with a spritz of this perfume, and I'd be good to go to the beach for the day. The curation definitely screams "chic, yet quick summer essentials." I am thrilled with every single item. I am incredibly excited to see how this revamp continues to unfold over the coming months!
