While Beauteque has been busy launching their brand new monthly subscription (you can check that out here) they also released limited edition bags on their main site. These are not subscriptions, but are similar to Memebox in that you buy them as you want them.
Beauteque is an online store based in the US that focuses on Korean Beauty products, so their limited edition bags usually include Korea-made products. There have been a few instances where they've featured products from the US, Taiwan etc, but when buying these bags, you can expect a whole lot of kbeauty goodness!
The Head-to-Toe Milk Bag costs $25 and the shipping varies depending on where you live:
US- $3.95 shipping
The great thing about Beauteque bags (limited edition bags as well as their subscription) is that they give you the best of both worlds. Not only are some items a mystery, but you can also choose some of the items you want in your bag! Whether it be a type of cleanser, shade of nail polish etc, it's a great way to make sure you get exactly the type of products that work best for you!
The Head-To-Toe Milk Bag arrived in this super-cute black and white checked bag. It feels nicely made and is a good size too!
From the Info Card:
Got Milk? Well, we do! Beauteque will help you stay warm, radiant and beautiful this winter with milk products. One of the best kept secrets has been to use milk to keep your skin nourished and moisturized, especially during the colder months, so we wanted to share our best and favorite milk products with you! They say that milk does a body good, but it also does your skincare and beauty regimen good! We hope you enjoy trying some of the best kept milk secrets in the industry.
Milk Wash Off Sponge ($10)
This is a package of two very large facial cleansing sponges that contain milk properties. These sponges act as a gentle exfoliator when used along with your favorite cleanser. To use these, simply put your cleanser on the sponge and wet it under warm water until the sponge is soaked through. Then move the sponge in a circular motion on the face to remove dirt and oil. I haven't tried these yet, but I'm interested to see how well these work. I've used cleansing brushes and my Konjac sponge, but never a soft sponge like this for cleansing! I did notice that these sponges are made in China, so if you're a bit weary of Chinese-made products, you might want to pass on these. I'm OK with using them since they're just sponges and not a cream or a cleanser etc.
3W Clinic: Milk Mask ($3)
This is a typical sheet mask, made with milk and protein extracts. This particular mask is used to brighten the skin and leave it feeling soft. Beauteque suggests popping this mask in the fridge before use to give it a cooling effect, however it's cold enough in my apartment where I really don't need to do that! I used this mask last night, and it's a pretty standard cotton sheet mask. Nothing too extravagant, but it did feel moisturizing and soothing, and caused no irritation.
Secret Key: Milk Brightening Toner ($19)
I love seeing a toner in this bag! Toners are one of my favorite types of skincare, especially since I discovered kbeauty. Korean toners usually don't have the astringent-like quality that Western toners have. Instead, these toners are used to replenish moisture and nutrients to the skin after the harsh cleansing process. This particular toner is effective for skin brightening, and contains an abundance of vitamins and minerals that supply the skin with nutrients and moisture. Simply apply this to a cotton pad and swipe it gently across the skin after cleansing. I tried this last night and this morning and I really like it! It's very gentle, and there's no noticeable scent to speak of. It almost feels like a slightly thicker water. It feels lightly moisturizing and soothing on the skin.
Skinfood: Green Tea Milk Cleansing Foam ($12)
When you purchase this bag, you have a choice between the Wildberry Milk or the Green Tea Milk cleansers. Both were tempting, but I've had good luck with Green Tea products in the past, so I decided to go for that one. These cleansing foams combine milk extracts and antioxidants to help wash away dirt and oil, leaving skin soft and radiant. I've become a bit more weary of cleanser ph, so I'm not sure if I'll be using this until I can see if it'll work for my skin. I'm happy to see Skinfood in this bag, though!
Secret Key: Milk Whipping Hand Cream ($6.50)
When you purchase this bag, you have a choice between this hand cream and the Beauty Credit Milk Hand Cream. Either one would have been fine, but I have been interested in trying more from Secret Key. This hand cream is very lightweight, and made with Donkey milk, which is rich in essential fatty acids, minerals and other nutrients. It protects the skin by maintaining the balance between moisture and oil, keeping is smooth and supple all day long. I am currently obsessed with hand creams since the colder months can wreak havoc on my hands, and this one is quite nice. This absorbs quickly and feels very moisturizing. It has an incredibly faint scent of something...closest to baby power, I think. But it fades shortly after applying.
Skinfood: Milk Creamy Nail Polish in "Mint Milk" ($8.50)
When purchasing this bag, you have an option of 5 different shades of this polish. I chose Mint Milk because I really love mint-colored polishes! I love the packaging on this polish: the cute little milk bottle with frosted glass is just too adorable, and the polish is pretty great as well. These are NOT 3 or 5 free polishes, so keep that in mind! I found that this polish definitely needs 2 coats, as with most pastel shades, it can look a bit streaky with one coat. I used a 5-free base and top coat to sort of protect my nails. The finish on this polish is creamy and lovely. The consistency is thin, but not so liquidy that it's difficult to apply. It dries relatively quickly as well, which is a plus!
Skinfood: Shea Butter Lip Care Bar in "Milk" ($7)
I love the smell of Shea butter, so I immediately popped this open to see what it smelled like. Delicious, natural shea butter scent! Score! There's not much to say about a lip balm. It's a balm. For lips. However I will say this one has a lovely consistency, feels very moisturizing and has worked really beautifully as my new daily lip balm. I keep it next to my bed where I use my laptop and apply it as needed, and it's kept my lips soft and moisturized. Can't ask for more than that!
The Head-to-Toe Milk bag cost $25 + shipping, and has a retail value of $66. However, keep in mind that is retail prices. I did a little research on the internet and found a few different prices for these products, averaged them, and found the value of this bag to be closer to about $45-$50. Having said that, this is still an absolutely fantastic bag! I love that mine is accidentally color-coordinated, too! I love Milk-based products, and I think that Beauteque did a fantastic job curating this. I love Secret Key and Skinfood, so seeing them heavily highlighted in this bag was a pleasant surprise. I will most likely use and enjoy everything in this bag, and think I might even pick up an extra or two to use as gifts. Little tip from me: When you find something that would make a good gift in the $20-$30 price range, pick up a couple extras if your budget permits! You will never have to rush around trying to find a gift again!
Overall, a fantastic bag, and I personally think it's my all-time favorite from Beauteque. The theme was also perfect for the Winter season!
