The 3B Box: Beauty Beyond Borders January Review and Unboxing

3B is a brand-new subscription box that is creating a lot of buzz in the kbeauty world. Whether you're new to Asian and Korean cosmetics and skincare or a seasoned pro, this is such a fun subscription to introduce you to new products that you may not have tried before!
We all know how expensive subscriptions can be, and many of us have experienced "subscription box burnout." It all starts when you subscribe to any and every box you can get your hands on; mystery presents arriving your your doorstep each month is seriously tempting and equally as fun. However once you've been getting them for awhile, you start to see repeat items, repeat brands, and feel completely overloaded with products. A great way to help cut down on that feeling while still keeping the "fun mail" rolling in, is to find lower-cost subscriptions that still provide a really great service, and 3B is one such subscription!

The Cost
Only $12 a month! (that includes shipping!)
(3b currently only ships to the US)

What's In the Box?
Each box contains a collection of  4-5 deluxe samples that are new or popular in Asia but hard to get your hands on. The products will change each month, and you’ll get to try new skincare, haircare, nail care, and cosmetic products. Sample products range from go-to brands such as Lioele, Etude House and Skinfood to high-end premium brands like SK-II, K, and Sulwhasoo.

Where Do I Sign Up?
You can learn more about 3B, and sign up for their monthly subscription HERE. 3B only launched last month, and they have become so popular in such a short time that there is currently a waitlist to subscribe- so if you're interested I would get on that list asap!
While this is called the 3B box, and it does arrive in one, your products are housed each month in a cute organza bag. I really prefer these bags to getting full-on makeup bags (like ipsy for example) because these are easily stored away to be used again.
Here's the First Peek at the January goodies!

Laneige Firming Sleeping Pack
Laneige is an incredibly popular Korean brand. So popular in fact, that many Target stores are now carrying their products! This is a sleeping pack that restores skin's firmness while you sleep. 3B suggests using this 1-2 times a week, although I use a sleeping pack each night, so I might switch this one into my routine once a week in place of my regular pack. It's a small sample, but a little goes a long way with sleeping packs, and I'm sure I could get 2-3 uses out of it.

Tonymoly Peach Hand Cream
Tonymoly is known for their adorable packaging, and this little hand cream definitely fits the bill! How cute will this little peach look on my vanity? (Ridiculously cute!) This hand cream is enriched with peach and apricot extracts and provides instantly softer and smoother hands. It smells absolutely divine, and the scent really lingers on my hands long after the cream has absorbed. This is the time of year where I'm applying hand cream 3-4 times a day (if not more) so I will definitely use this up quickly. The best part is this can be used later to depot foil packet samples, or to hold any other little treasures I can rustle up!

Heroine Make: Volume & Curl Mascara
This is a Japanese brand mascara, and it claims to do everything you want a mascara to do: increase thickness and length as well as curling and being waterproof. The whole package! This has a classic, natural bristle brush, and it's tapered to a point at the tip, which makes for very easy application. I haven't tried this one yet (almost finished with my current mascara!) but I have read some really fantastic reviews on this, as well as the other mascaras from this company, so I am crazy-excited to give it a try!

Nature Republic: Flower Jelly Drop Gloss
This gloss has a sheer pink tint, and looks really pretty on my lips. I know it's called flower jelly drop gloss, but I was hoping the scent would be fruity for some reason. It does have a non-offensive, subtle floral scent which I can live with. It's not too sticky, and seems to last a reasonable amount of time on my lips. It's probably not something I'll reach for often, but it's one of those great toss-in-my-purse glosses that are perfect for a quick touch up without any fuss.

My Beauty Diary: Hyaluronic Acid Sheet Mask
My Beauty Diary makes some of my all-time favorite sheet masks, and this hyaluronic acid mask is one of the most moisturizing I've ever used. I also think that MBD masks tend to fit better on my face than most. They're always soaked in the perfect amount of essence too: not too much where it's dripping wet, but not too little so it dries out too quickly. If your skin needs a little moisture boost during these cold winter days, this is the perfect mask to have on hand!

Overall Thoughts
I don't usually give the value of subscriptions that are $15 or less, because I feel they always give a great value, regardless. I did a very quick peek at these products on google, and the value of this bag is at least double the cost, and that's with the shipping! This is only the second bag from 3B, but I have been more than impressed with both. You really can't beat $12 for all these samples, and heck- 4 out of the 5 items this month are full sized products! I couldn't be happier with the value and overall curation of this subscription in general, and this month is particularly awesome! It's nice mix of makeup and skincare and not all kbeauty, which has definitely opened me up to trying new things!

There is currently a wait list to subscribe to 3B, so if you're interested I would sign up as soon as possible. You can get on the wait list here. Right now they're only shipping to the US, but they have been openly asking their customers where we would like them to ship to next. So if you live outside the US, make sure you get in touch with them and tell them you want them to ship to your country!
