While some of you may be familiar with the Beauteque Monthly subscription, you may not know that they also offer one-time-purchase bags on their main website! If you're not sure if you want to commit to a subscription, or maybe you already subscribe and want even more kbeauty, these bags are always a good value and filled with fun and interesting products!
The Head-to-Toe bags are a regular theme that Beauteque offers, each one featuring it's own unique curation. This one is filled with all things Pink!
This bag cost $26 (plus shipping) and features 7 full size products.
As of the time of this post, this bag is still available for purchase HERE.
The Head-To-Toe Pink Bag is a cute, felt cut-out pouch that's nicely made, although it's not really my style. I will definitely pass it on to a friend who will enjoy it, though! Regardless, it definitely fits the theme!
Hada Senka by Shiseido: Milky Lotion Emulsion ($15.95)
Shiseido is a popular Japanese brand, and this particular product is from their more affordable line, Hada Senka. You could have received either the lotion or the toner. This is where things get a little bit confusing. Japanese toner is sometimes called a "Lotion," yet it's actually the equivalent of a Korean toner. On top of that, when it comes to this brand in particular, the emulsion and the "lotion/toner" are in almost exactly the same bottles. There is a slight difference in the label, but the best way to tell which one you got is to open it up and shake some out! If it's a gel-like liquid, it's the toner. If it's a thin cream, it's the emulsion.
I was hoping for the toner at first, but I actually quite like this emulsion! It's light, yet creamy, and I think it would make a great daytime moisturizer. It contains hyaluronic acid and royal jelly and is free of fragrance and coloring. It absorbs very quickly into my skin and leaves behind a super-soft feel without any greasiness or stickiness. I tried this on the back of my hand first and I cannot stop feeling how soft my skin is! While I usually expect Korean products from Beauteque, I'm quite pleased to see a popular Japanese brand here!
Femme Couture Highlighting Luminizer ($11.50)
This is a US brand, which I'm a little confused by. I'm fine with the occasional product from Japan/US etc, but I think that people purchase these bags from Beauteque hoping for Korean cosmetics. I hope that they avoid American products in the future, because I feel like I can get them anywhere. The allure of kbeauty is that it's not readily available in US stores. This brand however, seems to be sold at Sally Beauty Supply.
This is essentially a highlight for the body. I wouldn't recommend using it on your face or mixing it with a foundation, because this luminizer has tiny flecks of shimmer in it. I have my fair share of liquid luminizers and highlights, and they're nice on the face when they're pearly and don't have shimmer in them- it gives more of a natural glow to the skin. This one is not good in my opinion. The formula is incredibly liquidy, so I don't understand the squeeze tube. It just comes out too quickly and is very runny and messy. I think this could potentially look nice on tanned skin in the summer- maybe on your chest, shoulders legs etc...but I genuinely have no desire to be covered in pink shimmer, so I'm going to pass this on to someone who might like it.
It's Skin Todak Todak Capsule Wash off Pack in "Pomegranate" ($5 for both)
These are one-time-use wash off masks, although I can say from experience that you can easily get at least 2+ applications out of these! These are both Pomegranate, and are used for firming and moisturizing the skin. These are used after cleansing, are left on for 15-20 minutes and rinsed off with warm water. I haven't tried these yet, but I have tried this line before and enjoy the masks very much! They're a gel-like consistency, and have a nice cooling effect on the skin. These little packs will be great for traveling! I do wish that we received 2 different ones, though!
Etude House: Moonlight in Spoon Blending Sleeping Cream in "Rosehip" ($3.95)
I seriously love these sleeping packs! When you slide this out of the cardboard sleeve, you will see its in the shape of a plastic spoon. First you peel off the foil, then you snap off the handle and use it as a little spatula to help blend and apply the sleeping pack. This also has quite a bit of product in it, so you might be able to get 2 uses out of this as well. Always keep a little tape handy to seal it back up! This variety is super moisturizing as it uses herb water gel to soften and invigorate skin and the Rosehip adds luster and energy to dull, fatigued complexions.
Tonymoly: Easy Touch Auto Lip Liner in "02 Rose Pink" ($7.25)
I think this liner is awesome! I love the deep, neutral pink shade, as it will really work well on many skin tones and layer well under lots of lipsticks. It applies very nicely. It's smooth enough where it won't tug on your lips, but dry enough that it will hold lipstick in place and keep your lip color from fading. It also has a little brush on the end to help blend and apply lip color. I think I'll definitely get a lot of use out of this!
Lameila Compact Puff ($15.95)
This is a Chinese-made blending sponge that is supposed to work like a Beauty Blender. I'll be the first person to tell you as a Beauty Blender fan, very few of these knockoff sponges come close to how the BB performs. Even so, the replica blenders still serve a purpose when it comes to applying and blending out cream blushes, concealer etc, so this will get good use from me! I personally don't think that this sponge has a retail value of almost $16 considering the real Beauty Blender is about $20, but I'd say it's closer to $5. How cute is the little bag that this comes in, though?
Tonymoly: Circle Lens Mascara (Volume) ($6.50)
This is the volumizing version from the Tonymoly Circle Lens line of mascaras. The description of this mascara is kind of difficult to follow. Some websites say this mascara makes your eyes look as if you're wearing circle lenses, other sites say that the natural ingredients of this mascara make it a good option for people with sensitive eye areas or those who wear circle lenses. Confusing descriptions aside, How well does it work?
First off, I like the skinny brush; It does make it quite easy to get right in there and apply mascara to every single lash. The formula is a bit wet and the brush carries a LOT of product, so it's best to apply this in light layers rather than going nuts in one go. It can definitely clump your lashes together if you use a heavy hand. Even so, I think that this does give some nice length and volume to the lashes. Probably not something I would buy again, but I'll definitely use it up!
The Head-to-Toe Pink bag cost $26 plus shipping, and has a retail value of $66.
That value is going by the manufacturer retail price of these products, however I would say the value is a bit closer to $50, which is still an excellent deal! I think what I'm most confused about value-wise, is that the info card says, "Nearly an $80 Retail Value!" but I'm assuming they meant to put "nearly a $70 retail value" because that would make more sense. Just a little confusing for me.
My thoughts on the products are mixed. If I'm being honest, I'm not thrilled with American products being in Beauteque bags. I think people can subscribe to a million different US-based beauty subscriptions that feature US brands. Beauteque stands out from the crowd because they feature mainly Korean/Asian brands, and I hope they continue to do so. I think that the luminizer was the only product in this bag I was disappointed with. Even a pink-colored tube of hand lotion would have been much better in my opinion. Aside from that, everything else here is pretty fantastic! I think it's a nice variety of skincare and makeup. Even though I usually favor skincare in my kbeauty subscriptions, I think the cosmetic items we received in the Pink Bag were useful, and nice quality. I'm really excited about the Shiseido emulsion as well as that Tonymoly lip liner- those were my favorite items by far!
If you're interested in picking up this bag, it is still available for purchase HERE.
It might not be available for much longer- they do tend to sell out quickly!
