Lenscircle.com Review! Featuring: Blue Nudy Series Lenses

It goes without saying that if you're into Korean beauty and fashion, you most likely have considered wearing, or currently wear circle lenses. They're extremely popular with Asian women as they not only make your eyes look larger, brighter and more vibrant, but they are a really versatile fashion accessory. You can match your eye shade to your mood, your clothes or the season. What even better, is that they're pretty affordable, and can be worn regardless of whether or not you have a prescription!

What's the Difference Between Normal Contacts and Circle Lenses?
The main difference between circle contact lenses and normal color contact lenses is circle lenses will make the eye appear larger. The size is around the same (14.0mm), however, because circle lenses not only cover the iris of the eye, but also the outer extra-wide rim of the lens, it makes the iris of the eye appear larger. With normal color lenses, this tinted area is transparent (no color tint), thereby, only allows the tint to cover the iris of the eye. Here is a simple diagram to help explain:

Why Would I Wear Circle Lenses?
- Makes your eyes appear larger.
- Many styles and designs.
- Color change blends in with natural look of the eye.
- Yearly usage.
- Inexpensive.
-Comfortable on eyes (easily conforms to shape of eyes because they are soft contact lenses).
- No prescription required

There are an incredible amount of circle lens stores on the internet, and an even larger variety of lenses themselves, so it can definitely be tricky finding a good website that sells quality, authorized lenses in a wide variety. LensCircle carries a wide selection of lenses in an easy to browse marketplace. They also offer a variety of coupon codes, bonus items with purchase, and lots of lenses on sale! Another thing I really like about their site, is that they not only offer a stock photo of a model wearing the lenses, they also offer "fan photos" of customers wearing the lenses so you can get a better idea of how they look.
I chose the Nudy Series Contacts in "Blue." They came in a super-cute leopard print pouch, along with a lens care card and basic lens case.
If you don't currently wear contacts, you will want to go to the store and purchase some multipurpose contact solution for soft lenses prior to receiving your circle lenses.
Each lens comes in it's own glass container with a rather annoying seal on the top. To open these, simply pull on the white plastic lid. It will give some resistance because it is attached the metal ring surrounding the top of the container. Once you lift the white plastic lid, you'll see it will start to pull away the metal ring. BE CAREFUL during this process- the metal is sharp and I have stabbed myself with it more times than I'd like to admit!
-Make sure you have some fresh lens solution ready in your lens case before continuing!
-Once you have the containers open, remove the rubber stopper. I like to pour my lenses directly into a clean dry hand and then squeeze some fresh solution on top of the lens and gently move it around to get any sediment off them, and then place each lens into the lens case.
-If you have prescription lenses, be sure to take care in placing the right lens and left lens into the proper side of the lens case so you know which eye the lenses go into when inserting them.
-Close the lens case and allow the lenses to sit in solution for 2-4 hours.

Lens Care and Tips
- Always wash, rinse and dry hands before touching your lenses.

- Use fingertips to handle the lens, avoid using finger nails or sharp objects, or you risk tearing the lens.

- Never use tap water or saliva to rinse your lenses or contact lens case.
(This is super important. There's weird little microbes living in water that can get underneath your lenses and permanently damage your eye. Only use lens solution to clean your case and lenses.)

- If you remove your lenses from your eye, you must clean, rinse and disinfect them before placing them in your lens case.

- Put your lenses in before applying make-up.
(This is so you don't get little mascara pieces or makeup debris under the lens, which is way more uncomfortable than it sounds! You could also mess up your pretty eye makeup if your eyes water or your drip any lens solution on your face while applying the lenses.)

- Replace your lenses at the interval specified.
(Most lenses will last for 12 months if they are cared for properly and not worn for longer than 6-8 hours a day.)

- Do not wear contact lenses when swimming or sleeping.

- If your lenses feel uncomfortable, remove them. If your discomfort or irritation continues after lens removal, contact your eye doctor or optometrist immediately.

Now that all the official stuff is out the way, check out the Nudy Series Lenses in Blue!

I took this photo so you could see the difference when the contact is in and when it's out. My eyes are naturally a light green shade, and the blue lens is on the left.
You can see what a difference a circle lens can make on the sheer size of your iris. It really does make the entire eye look larger and more awake.

Here's what it looks like with both lenses in place. I used a bronze shade on my lids because it tends to look quite nice with blue eyes. How pretty are these?!
My Experience
Not only was my experience with LensCircle excellent, but the quality of the lenses is awesome! The last pair I purchased was quite awhile ago and from a different site, but I remember they were pretty uncomfortable and actually much more difficult to get into my eye than these were. Of course, it does take a little practice if you're not used to putting in contacts, but once you get the hang of it, it's a piece of cake!

I did wear these lenses for about 6 hours, and like with many lenses in general, my eyes did feel a little bit dry around hour 4. It wasn't unbearable, but just something to point out. You could use eye drops if you know you are going to be somewhere that you won't be able to remove them.
Overall Thoughts
I'm incredibly pleased with my experience with LensCircle, but I'm even happier with the lenses! I think in natural light (without flash) they're a subtle, but noticeable change and look quite natural if you're not up super-close. In the past, I've only purchased green circle lenses to compliment my natural eye color, but I'm so happy with how these blue lenses look! I'm definitely going to be making an order for some different shades soon!

  1. I am interested in these now! I have prescription lenses, and they do sell them on there too for certain circle lenses. I think I will be getting some this weekend - I love the grey ones and might get a green one (I have green-blue eyes :) )

    1. These are also prescription lenses- I never wear contact (only glasses) so it's such a treat to wear these around and not have to wear my glasses for the day haha ;) I really love the grey ones- the ones that have a bit of grey and brown in them are sooo pretty! You totally should pick some up! It's so fun to switch it up!

  2. Nice choice! The blue looks exotic but not totally unnatural. I want to try brown lenses at some point, but I worry that they wouldn't blend with my natural eye color (blue/grey) and just look really strange, haha.

    1. You'll have a much easier time since you have blue/grey eyes. Most colored lenses show up better on lighter eye shades, and since these are made for people that primarily have brown eyes, they're already pretty pigmented in terms of color. You should totally try some brown lenses! I'm interested in getting some myself- although more like a hazel shade.

The blue definitely looks more intense in the photos- in person and in natural light it just looks a little more vibrant than my natural eye color,a nd obviously...blue haha ;) I really love these ones though, they're super comfortable!

  3. I wonder if they'd have my prescription, I'm so blind! These look amazing, not totally unnatural like some of the giant blackout type lenses, very pretty.

    1. It looks like the power goes up to -10.00 on their prescriptions! My eyes are -2.00 and -1.50 so it's pretty easy to find my prescription. I totally agree though- I've had some lenses that looked pretty terrible. One time I got a green shade from a different website that made me look like a sci-fi lizard LOL Really like this nudy series line!

  4. I'd love to try some of these but since it is difficult enough to get normal lenses in my prescription I was sure they wouldn't do these. I did check though and as you say the highest they go up to is a -10. Unfortunately I am a -13.50 and -15.00 ... yep, blind as a bat! I could just get some, stay still and look pretty ...that might work ;)

    1. Oh that is such a bummer! Do you wear contacts or glasses? If you wear glasses, you could always get a non-prescription pair of lenses and wear your glasses over them- that's what I did with the first few pairs purchased where a prescription wasn't available.

You could also try contacting them to see if they plan on offering any higher prescriptions in the future!

  5. I'll contact them and keep an eye out for any updates... hopefully in the future! I wear contacts, own glasses but hardly ever wear them. It wouldn't be an option really as they are like bottle tops! You wouldn't be able to see my eyes well enough ;)

  6. I love the idea of these, but I don't need prescription lenses, so I'm not sure if they would be worth it for me. It would be fun to change my eye color, though! #kbeautybloghop

    1. That makes it even easier! :) Without a prescription you can simply pop in whichever shade you want, whenever you want! haha! It's a really fun way to change up your look, for sure!

  7. Interesting! I wear glasses rather than contacts, like, all the time. I'd love to use a contact to deepen my green eyes! Color prescription contacts are so expensive. And purple! Thanks for sharing. #kbeautybloghop

    1. I wear glasses almost all the time as well. I also have some non-prescription lenses that I wear along with my glasses. I also like to emphasize my green eyes, so I do have a couple green pairs of lenses I wear as well. I really like how versatile circle lenses are, and how reasonably priced they are considering they last for a year!
