Memebox Night Care Review and Unboxing

So around Christmas, Memebox started releasing boxes almost as regularly as they did before their long hiatus. The problem was- many of them were being spoiled early, and none of them looked that appealing. I just started to notice that the attention to detail in their curation was absent, and more importantly, the overall value of the boxes was extremely low. The only boxes I purchased during that time: Boxing Day #2, and this one: Night Care. This box was more expensive at $29 than a typical Memebox, but the spoilers they released ahead of time made me more ready to take the plunge and grab this one with some Memepoints and a coupon. Let's just say the first spoiler was hydro gel eye patches- and that's enough to me to pull the trigger!
(product info card tells you more information and how to use each product. Some recent boxes have included these types of cards, which direct you to a virtual info card on the Memebox website.)

If you're new to Memebox, they are a website that sells Korean beauty products, but their most popular items are of course, the Memeboxes. These boxes are full of deluxe samples and full size Korean beauty products and are delivered to you all the way from Korea. Memebox has been kind enough to create a FAQs page that you can view HERE if you want more info on the boxes, as there are many to choose from!

This particular box is one of their special edition boxes, which are based around a specific theme.
"Memebox Night Care" cost $29 plus $6.99 shipping, and includes 9 products.

MYPU: Black Pearl and Gold Velvet Eye Gel Patches(Full Size Product: $30)
It's seems like my kbeauty wishes have been coming true lately when it comes to eye patches. I've been using them more than I ever have in the past, and it seems as soon as I think I'm going to run out, more show up! These are formulated with collagen, hyaluronic acid, black pearl extracts and other essential concentrates that help keep the under-eye skin moist and soft. They also are supposed to help soothe and treat dark circles and fine lines. I haven't actually tried these yet, as I'm trying to get through my current stash of eye gels, but I have to say- these things are absolutely SOAKED in essence. I can't imagine these would ever dry out! I'm curious to give these a go soon- I'd like to see if they stay put or end up sliding down my face, which is a huge problem with gel-based eye patches. Fingers crossed!

Switch Patch: Elephant 3-Step Black Head nose Pack
(Full Size Product: $3)
This is a 3-step nose pack that opens up the pores, unclogs them, and then tightens them back up. It gets ride of excess blackheads and sebum in the nose. Step 1 is a cotton sheet mask that has witch hazel, lemon balm and grapefruit extracts that help melt and extract blackheads and oil. Step 2 is your standard peel off nose strip that contains lemon extracts and aloe vera leaf water. Step 3 is a bio-cellulose mask sheet that is kind of like a hydro-gel sheet mask for your nose. It soothes and re-firms the enlarged pores with a blend of lavender, chamomile and eucalyptus extracts. I've used the Holika Holika version of this, and I didn't think it did anything noticeable to my nose. Considering each step takes about 20 minutes, it a lot of time to set aside for just removing nose blackheads, especially when I don't think they work very well- although I might not have enough clogging my pores for these to really make a difference.

Heart Face: Ultra Pore Care Sleeping Pack
(Full Size Product: $14)
This sleeping pack is formulated with 100% concentrated ferments from galactomyces and natural herbal complexes, hyaluronic acid, and aloe vera. These ingredients not only treat acne, but deeply nourish and rejuvenate the skin overnight to reveal firm, moisturized skin upon waking up. It has a non-sticky formula that absorbs quickly.
This has been featured in a past Memebox, however I did not receive that particular one, so it's completely new to me! I've noticed that people seem to either love or hate this product, and I'm finding myself to be leaning toward the love side of things. I'm not a fan of the scent, which is clearly rose, however I find the consistency thick and creamy, yet almost gel-like so it doesn't feel overwhelming or heavy on my face. I don't have a greasy residue when I wake up after using this, either, which is a huge factor for me when judging sleeping packs. I've been using this for about a week, so I'm not entirely sold on it, but so far, so good!

Avec Moi Mask Set
(Full Size Prodcut: $33 for Set of 4)
This is a set of different treatment masks featuring one for your feet, hands, hair and nails. These 4-packs of masks are pretty common, as I've seen quite a few different brands feature something very similar. Regardless, I love hand and foot masks, so I'm excited to have these!

Pony Tail Silky Treatment Pack- Contains pito collagen, bean and silk proteins, argan oil, olive oil, shea butter and royal jelly.  It is used to deeply nourish, soften and strengthen the hair. I like these hair masks because they can be used on wet or dry hair, and do not need to be rinsed out. To use, simply put your hair in a pony tial and tuck the hair into the little baggie that contains the treatment. Fasten the top/open part of the bag at the top of the pony tail with another elastic (provided) to hold it in place. Then you simply massage the hair for a few minutes and let it rest for 20-30 before removing.

Shea Butter Special Care Foot Mask-
This foot mask is made with shea butter, macadamia oil, vitamin E and fresh herbal complex. This is like your typical foot treatment pack: you've got your plastic socks filled with an essence. You slip 'em on, let them sit on your feet for as long as you want (I do about an hour) and then remove. I love moisturizing foot packs because they really do a wonderful job of making my feet feel soft without having to deal with the week-long peeling skin that comes along with peeling foot packs.

Camellia Special Care Hand Mask- This is a treatment for the hands that contains camellia extract, collagen, vitamin e, argan oil and natural herbal complex. After washing your hands, you simply place these plastic gloves filled with a lotion-type essence over your hands for 20-30 minutes. Then remove and pat the remaining essence into your skin. These have always done wonders for my hands on those extra dry days, or when I start to feel roughness.

Intensive Nail Pack- This treatment is made with cacao seed butter, milk protein, hydrolyzed bean protein, collagen, honey, macadamia oil and other naturally derived ingredients that deliver moisture to dry, cracked nails. These are essentially little slip covers that go over the top of your finger and contain a liquid essence. I have tried quite a few of these and have never noticed a difference in my nail health or moisture after use, so I'll be passing this set on to someone who will enjoy them!

D'RAN: Wonder Lifting Eye Cream
(Full Size Product: $35)
This eye cream is used to brighten and firm up the dry, thin skin around the eyes. It's enriched with a moisturizing blend of beta glucan, macadamia seed oil, argan oil, jojoba seed oil and EGF. It helps protect the sensitive skin around your eyes while replenishing and balancing out skin tone from within. I'm still burning through my Mizon eye serum, but I have this product ready to go in my rotation. I love eye creams, but so little is needed to cover the eye area that it takes me forever to go through one tube! This one in particular looks like it's going to take a lifetime to use up!

Tosowoong: Natural Pure Snail Essence
(Full Size Product: $24)
This Essence contains 20% Snail mucin filtrate and 40% fresh birch tree leaf water, and is used for brightening the skin and fighting against wrinkles. It moisturizes and firms dry, sagging skin, as well as fights acne, blemishes, uneven moisture/oil balance etc.
I'm super impressed with this product by the description alone, although I have yet to actually open it up and give it a try. I'm still using up my Benton Snail Bee High Content Essence, although this sounds like it could be a very nice alternative to it once I run out!
Overall Thoughts
This box cost $29 + $6.99 shipping and has a total retail value of $139!
Looking at the actual value of the products, I can understand a bit more why they were charging $29 for this box. Even so, I couldn't help but be a little disappointed that a $29 didn't have a larger amount of substantial products, considering past Memeboxes. I am pleased with most of the products they've included, although i don't fully understand what makes this a Night Care box, outside of the sleeping pack. Overall, I don't regret purchasing it, I just wish it would have had a little bit more of a "wow" factor.

  1. I also got this box! I have used the gel eye patches a few times now and I'm happy to tell you they stay put! I have had no problems with them sliding and it does take a while for them to start to dry out. I also really like the smell of these and for me the smell of a product can make it or break it lol- I think you will like these :) by the way your eyes look amazing in the previous post! That eyeshadow works beautifully for green or blue eyes!

    1. Oh I'm so glad to hear that you like the eye patches and that they don't slide around! LOL That's my biggest pet peeve about eye gels! And thank you so much for the compliment, you are too sweet!!

  2. I did enjoy this box - probably more than you - but that is because the last night care box I got (sleeping beauty) was a dismal failure! This one seemed like it was stuff that you would do in the evenings, cause you wouldn't have the time in the morning to do them...

    1. The last "night" box I got was "While You Were Sleeping" which I thought was a really fantastic box. I definitely was harder on this box than I probably should have been because I really just expected a bit more for the $29 price tag. This just seems more like a $23 box to me. You're right that a lot of this stuff would be used at night for most people, especially the masks and stuff, although I myself like to use those things on the weekends when I'm putzing around the house and have nothing to do, haha, and I usually use eye patches when I wake up in the morning, so I guess for me personally it didn't work as a night time box. Definitely not even close to being as bad as some of the more recent boxes though! This one looks like an A+ in comparison!

  3. Whilst I think the contents of this box looks pretty good, I definitely agree with you that Memebox had(/are having?!) a bad spell just before Christmas. There was absolutely nothing I wanted to buy and the boxes have definitely gone downhill lately. Let's hope the shake up improves things!

Back to the box though - I'm keen on those eye patches and that eye cream sounds divine. I almost hate how long they take to use up because I'm always excited to try new stuff! I hope the products work well for you :-)

  4. Is it just me or is the illustration on the elephant patch sort of disturbing? Anyway, I think this seems like a decent box overall. I'd dig the eye patches and sleeping pack.
