PopSugar Must Have February 2015 Review and Unboxing

Truth Time: I have a ridiculous amount of reviews to get through this month. Right now I have over 14 on deck, and I have no idea how I'm going to get through them all! I usually have a schedule each month, but I was too busy to get one done in time for February, so now I'm just winging it. I just got this PopSugar Must Have Box yesterday, but I'm so ridiculously excited about it that I just couldn't wait to share it with all of you! It's definitely one of my favorite boxes I've ever received from them, and certainly curated perfectly!

The Deets
PopSugar Must Have Box is a subscription that sends you full size "must have" items from all areas of interest: fitness, beauty, skincare, home decor, books- you name it! You never know what is going to show up in these boxes, and that's why they're always so much fun to recieve!
PopSugar costs $39.99 per month, however you can save more by buying a longer subscription, or if you gift yourself a box each month, you can use the frequent coupon codes they have available (usually monthly) that range from $5 off ( use code: REFER5), to sometimes up to $20 off on rare occasions!
Each month, Lisa Sugar (PopSugar's Founder) will put all of the things that inspired the box on the info card. This month was inspired by:
One Love, Hearts and Arrows, Red Hot, Divine Desserts, Pampering
ACME Party Box Company: Bamboo Heart Cutting Board and Cheese Knife ($32)
What better way to start of a February box than with something adorable and heart-shaped? This heart-shaped cutting board is made of bamboo, and came in a pretty burlap drawstring bag and also included a cute little cheese knife. Weirdly enough, I've been searching for a little cutting board that looked nice to use when I entertain. This one is perfect and absolutely my style: a weird mix between rustic and girly. I can just imagine how cute it's going to look with some fancy cheese on it at my next party!

Chuao Chocolatier: Ravishing Rocky Road Bar ($6)
I have purchased Chuao chocolate many times in the past , and they're hands down one of my favorite chocolatiers. I really love the Popcorn, Potato chip and honeycomb varieties! This Rocky Road bar is made with salted, caramelized almonds, little marshmallows and the creamiest milk chocolate you'll ever taste. I am powerless to resist Chuao's chocolate bars, so this is already gone. I promise I shared a piece with my fiance! But just a piece.

U.S. Apothecary: Rose Water Bubble Bath ($30)
Here's why this is a really fantastic product for this box: It's a bubble bath, which is kind of the most romantic thing ever to share with your significant other! It's also rose-scented, which is reminiscent of getting a bouquet of flowers on Valentines Day. Finally, it's housed in a wine bottle-like package. While I personally think this is a perfect product for a February/Valentines Day box, I am not going to be using it. Personal preference reasons only: I hate the smell of fake rose. Candles, perfume, bath and body products...anything rose-scented is gag-inducing for me, and this stuff smells like ROSE. Super strongly scented!
It is a beautiful bottle and would make a fantastic gift for someone who does like the scent, so I'll be passing this on!

Tarte Cosmetics: Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Blush in "True Love" ($26)
Tarte is one of my favorite makeup brands (definitely top 3), and their Amazonian Clay Blushes are my favorite blushes on the market. The sturdy, yet appealing packaging, the wide variety of colors...what's not to love? The shade 'True Love' is perfect for this box: it's a subtle pink shade that looks naturally lovely on a wide variety of skin tones. It's also one I don't have in my collection, so I couldn't be more thrilled!

Figs and Rouge: 100% Natural Balm in "Pomegranate" ($8)
I know a lot of people dislike lip balms in tins/jars, but I always find them so charming! The packaging of this balm is incredibly pretty, and I already have it displayed on my vanity! The balm is a great consistency, doesn't feel goopy or sticky, and applies evenly to the lips. The scent I received is pomegranate, however there were a few different varieties sent out. I'm happy with this one, although there was a Lemon Berry option that was also tinted, so I'm a bit jealous of anyone who got that one!

BaubleBar: Mini Arrow Pendant Necklace ($32)
My addictions fall into the makeup and skincare categories for the most part. I have a very small jewelry tree with a few necklaces, 4-5 rings and a small collection of bracelets. I'm not really "into" jewelry the way that other women might be. However, well over a year ago, I went ahead and purchased a mystery box filled with BaubleBar jewelry. I was astounded at how beautifully everything was packaged and wrapped. Every item had it's own pouch, there was a hand-written note inside the box, and even better- BaubleBar offers a great rewards program and free shipping on everything! They quickly became my go-to place for interesting, inexpensive, yet quality jewelry. I've also purchased jewelry storage solutions from them as well. As you might notice- I'm a big fan!
This little arrow pendant is SO delicate and teeny. It's about as wide as my thumbnail. I was sent the silver, however gold is also popping up in boxes as well. I think this would look absolutely beautiful on it's own, or layered with another necklace. It's definitely a perfect piece of jewelry for a February box! Inside the pouch was also a 30% off coupon code for Baublebar, which you know I'll be using asap!

Special Extra- Sally Beauty: Finger Paints Nail Color in "Pink Imagination" ($5.50)
These polishes promise intense color, durable shine, and a long-lasting finish with one coat. I haven't tested these claims yet however I'm hoping I love this polish! There was a BOGO coupon included in the box, and since I have multiple Sally Beauty Supplies around me, I'm definitely interested in using it! I believe there were two shades sent out this month, possibly more, but so far I've seen red and pink. While I do love a red nail polish, I've been much more into pale shades lately. This pink is absolutely perfect!
Overall Thoughts
The February PopSugar Must Have Box costs $39.99 and has a total retail value of $140!
The super high value is a given with PopSugar, but this box seriously knocked it out of the park! I cannot think of a better way to curate a February/Valentines Day box. It's so easy to go overboard/tacky with hearts, boxes of chocolates and rose-scented items, but PopSugar really killed it. I love the subtle-shades of the beauty products, the standard yet unique and intersting chocolate, the dainty jewelry...I'm just super thrilled with this box- can you tell? If this box hadn't sold out so quickly, I would have purchased extras to give as gifts! (Which I do frequently!)
March is my Birthday month, so next month I'm hoping for a fantastic box! I'm really excited to see what kind of theme they do!

  2. OH yeah, I can't wait for my box to come. This is perfect... I actually need a cutting board because I stupidly put mine in the dishwasher and it split in half. XD I love the cutting board picture! I saw it on MSA, but it looks much cuter in your photo!
