Scentbird: Monthly Perfume Subscription Service and 50% off Coupon!

When you find a perfume that suits your personality, it's like magic.
People stop you and ask you what perfume you're wearing. You stand up straighter, and walk with confidence. You can instantly dress up your yoga pants and ponytail with just a spritz of your really fabulous scent. I don't know about you, but I always feel more confident when I'm wearing my favorite perfume.

Coco Chanel once said,
"A woman who doesn't wear perfume has no future."
And while I don't know if that's true exactly, I get the sentiment behind it because of how my signature scents make me feel. Confident, powerful and feminine.
Even though I've found some of my all-time favorite scents already, I'm always looking for another to add to my very small list. I'd love to have a perfume that fit my personality for every season, mood and whim. That idea can seem daunting, and more than a little expensive! My all-time favorite perfume is well over $125 for a 3.4oz bottle, so there are long periods of time I go without it because it's simply out of my budget.

I recently discovered a subscription service that would not only let me try out all the perfumes I've been dreaming of, but it will also help me afford to have my all-time favorite perfume on hand at all times!

Scentbird is one of those subscription services that really stands out, serves a clear purpose, and immediately made me want to subscribe! Essentially, they send you a 1-month supply of a perfume of your choice each month, but they are so much more than that!
Step 1: You Sign up for a plan that fits your needs.
A 1-Month Supply of Perfume costs $14.95 per month. The more months you purchase in advance, the less you spend overall.

Step 2: Take the Scent Personality Quiz
Scentbird will ask you a handful of questions to get a better idea of the types of scents you like, and what scents would fit your personality best.
At the end of the quiz, Scentbird will then ask you to list a few perfumes you love to help match you with similar scents. In the picture above I've shown how this works by listing out my personal Top 3.

Step 3: Choose Your Scents!
Here is the Scentbird Dashboard. On the left you can see what I like to call the "Scent Queue." This is where you can add perfumes to your month-to-month queue, in whichever order you prefer. If you feel like browsing perfumes, they make it easy for you to browse unfamiliar scents, too! By simply hovering over the picture of the bottle, you can see the scent notes, occasion, and description of each perfume. You can also rate each scent to help with better customizing your suggested perfumes.

Also, if you'd rather ignore Scentbird's suggestions, you can search perfumes by brand, style, occasion, notes etc. It's a great way to explore all the different brands and fragrances they have to offer! Scentbird currently has over 350 designer fragrances, and growing!
Scentbird ships on the 15th of each month, and will arrive on your doorstep in a sleek black bubble mailer.
On your first month, you will receive a luxury case for your spray, as well as a little velvet bag to hold it in. The months following your first month will not include these items, however. The second month and beyond will only include your 1-month supply of perfume.
The luxury case is super cute, and holds your vial of perfume perfectly. Simply slide the vial into the case and twist. You can twist up to make the spritzer pop up, or twist down to conceal it.
Of course for my first month, I just had to get my signature scent: Dior Addict!
The Dior Addict woman is youthful, free spirited, and throwing caution to the wind in the French resort destination of Saint-Tropez. From the beach to the café, she flirts and dances her way through life with an irreverent joie de vivre. Unexpected and boldly independent, she is vivacious and alluring.

A vibrant oriental, Dior Addict Eau de Parfum indulges the senses with sumptuous silk tree flower, voluptuous night queen flower, and luscious bourbon vanilla combined with sandalwood and tonka bean to evoke a feeling of passion in the daringly sexy woman who wears it.

Silk Tree Flower, Mandarin Leaf, Orange Blossom, Queen of the Night Flower, Bulgarian Rose, Bourbon Vanilla Absolute, Mysore Sandalwood, Tonka Bean.

My personal take on the perfume: It smells mysterious. It's spicy, with the main components being sandalwood and vanilla absolute. This scent almost smells smoky, in a good way. It's one of the most unique scents I've ever owned, and hands-down the one that people stop me on the street about the most. It is definitely a heavier scent, so it would be best worn at night or during the colder months, although I admittedly wear it year-round!

The 1-Month Supply of perfume is in a generous .27oz (8ml) tube, and will last for 30 days if two spritzes are used per day. On the site, my mind kept playing tricks on me because I assumed the vials would be similarly sized to a typical sample vial of perfume, however these are much larger than I expected!
Since I know Dior Addict very well, I know it's a strong scent. I only need a spritz or two to last throughout the entire day, so I know that this size will last me the whole month, easily!
Overall Thoughts
I LOVE this idea for a subscription! Since Dior Addict can cost around $120 for the large size, it's rarely something I can have in my life considering my tiny budget. I was lucky enough to get a large bottle for Christmas last year, however being able to drop $100+ on a perfume is just not something I could ever do normally. What I love about Scentbird is that I can pay $14.95 a month and always have my signature scent on hand. It is much easier for me to be able to pay a small amount monthly, than a large amount all at once.
This service is absolutely perfect for someone like me, or for someone that has a taste for expensive perfumes, but not the budget. I can also see this subscription being excellent for anyone who likes to switch up their perfumes regularly, or anyone who likes to try new designer scents. I'm surprised at how many amazing perfumes I found available on their site- even some that I've been meaning to try for years and never got around to! Using Scentbird, I can hunt down scents that seem up my alley, put them in my queue, and get to try them out all month! And hey- if I ever just want to go back to my Dior, I can always get my monthly supply of it through Scentbird and not have to drop a ton of cash!
