Something Snacks February 2015 Review and Unboxing

So I want to preface this post by saying that the photos are going to be a bit different than usual. Most of the time, I take pictures right on my dining room table- I'm not a stark white background kind of person- However, I was running out the door for work the other day and I saw my Something Snacks box sticking out of my mailbox, so I grabbed it and brought it to work with me. Of course, my coworkers all wanted to sample everything, so I had to take pictures at work with my phone so everyone could dig in! The good news is, you'll get the perspective of not only myself, but my coworkers as well!
I don't know what it is, but I've really been into snack subscriptions lately. I'm sure you've all decided at some point in your life to start the journey to eating healthier and smarter, or really just want to mix it up when it comes to what you eat. If you walk around the grocery store and try to find a healthy snack, you're not going to find much other than your basic fruits and veggies. More importantly, when you're looking for a little splurge food-wise, you don't want to just grab a $1 candy bar in the checkout lane. It's so much more fun to find new and interesting things to try: it makes snacking an experience, and that is exactly what Something Snacks offers!

When you subscribe to Something Snacks, you will receive a snack box delivered with 7 hand-selected snacks right to your door step every month.  Every snack is personally tasted and approved. Each month, find something familiar and something adventurous! Perfect if you enjoy convenience and surprises!

This is the February Box, so it is heavy on the sweets this month, but if you're into savory snack, no worries-they send lots of those too!

Laiki Red Rice Crackers
This is the one lone savory snack in the box this month! I'm fine with that, as this is the February box after all! These crackers are made with rice, oil and salt. That's it! They have a light, airy crunch and are not too salty, which was nice. I actually quite enjoyed these, although my co-workers thought that they were a bit on the bland side. If you like simple, healthy snacks that can satisfy that salty chip craving, these would definitely be something to try!

Mscotti Cranberry White Chocolate Biscotti
Oh, do I love a good biscotti! There's very few things that taste more delicious with a cup of coffee! This one is so different from the usual flavors I see in most coffee shops. The white chocolate and cranberry is delicious! Also- this biscotti has a slightly different consistency in that it's almost a bit soft, but still has that crumbly texture. Incredibly delicious! I checked out the Mscotti website, and they have some of the most delicious-sounding biscotti I've ever seen! I think I might have to make an order with them- they even have a biscotti of the month club! Yummm.

Amsterdam! Good Cookies Stroopwafel
This one was a hit with my coworkers, and also happens to be the Featured Snack this month! These are made and shipped directly from the Netherlands, They're basically two soft waffle cone-like cookies with a nougat/caramel between them. Not only are they delicious on their own, but you can also lay these cookies on top of your coffee mug or tea cup to warm them up and make them even more delicious!

 Dolcetto Petites Chocolate Wafer Bites
These are SO good. First of all, these little packages are only 100 calories per serving, so they're perfect for someone with a sweet tooth who is also counting calories. They're little bite-sized wafer cookies filled with molten chocolate. They're flaky and delicious- so much so, that my coworkers rated this their favorite snack in the box! I liked them so much that I already have plans to buy a larger box of these 100 calorie packs!

Off the Farm Strawberry Coconut Premium Food Bar
I like that this bar is all natural with no preservatives, and is a good size too!  I love these kinds of snack bars, because I like to keep something with me when I'm on the go in case I don't have time to eat a meal. I love all 3 of the main ingredients of this bar, so I was pleased with the flavor and the consistency. It wasn't too sweet, and it was surprisingly filling!

Chocolate Classique Truffles
I am so sad that there were only 4 truffles in this box. They were SO. GOOD. These are pretty classic truffles. They're dusted with a slightly bitter, yet nicely balanced cacao powder, and have an incredibly rich, indulgent, melt-in-your-mouth chocolately center. These are sinfully good. I am happy that my coworkers shared these with me or I would have eaten them all in one sitting!

Emily's Chocolate Covered Strawberries
Chocolate-covered strawberries are actually one of my all-time favorite indulgences, so I was so excited to see this in the box! These are dried strawberries covered in dark chocolate, and they were absolutely delicious! They might not be as good as the real thing, but definitely hit the spot! My coworkers said they tasted like strawberry fruit snacks dipped in chocolate...which I suppose could be a good or a bad thing depending on the person!

Since this is the Valentines Day box, Something Snacks also include a little bonus snack: a chocolate rose! I thought that was super sweet of them, and it really made the box more festive! I gave this to my mom (who works with me!) and she was very excited to have a little sweet treat for the ride home from work!

Overall Thoughts
Something Snacks may be the new kid on the snack subscription block, but I think that they have done a fantastic job with the curation of this box! I think that for $10 a month ($13 with shipping) I received a nice variety of snacks, and everything was substantial in size! Many similarly priced snack subscriptions include little bite-sized products, so I am thrilled that everything here was large enough to share with my coworkers! I think that Something Snacks is more than worth the money, so much so that I think I'm going to put my Graze box subscription on hold so I can continue getting this one!

    1. I think it's such a great snack box! I really enjoy Love With Food, but since this one is pretty much the same price point, I feel like the snacks I got from Something Snacks were a bit more substantial. Very impressed with their selection and curation so far! Excited to see the march box!

  2. This looks like a great box, but I'm gluten-free, so it wouldn't work for me. I'll have to keep an eye out, though. The Love With Food gluten-free box is so expensive!

    1. ohh no! That's such a shame! I wonder why Love with Food charges so much more for the gluten free options! It seems like more companies are coming out with gluten free products, so it shouldn't be too hard to pack a box with them and not have it cost a ton!
