Kloverbox March 2015 Review and Unboxing!

Kloverbox arrived earlier than usual this month, which I could not be more excited about! I am getting over a wave of random illnesses- first a tooth infection, and then some seriously awful side effects from the antibiotics I was taking for said infection, so while getting snack boxes is always nice, those are kind of the last things I want right now! Seeing the March Kloverbox on my porch was just the pick-me-up I needed, and it was, as usual, filled with all kinds of lovely products to pamper myself!

If you're like me, you probably browse pinterest and make board after board of green living solutions: how to make your own laundry detergent, how to live more minimally, heck...how to raise your own chickens! I've always had this dream of living a more minimal, natural life. It sounds absolutely blissful, but it can sometimes be incredibly overwhelming finding ways to implement new ideas into your life, or even sifting through the hundreds of "natural" brands that may not always give you what they promise. That is where Kloverbox comes in to save the day!

What is Kloverbox?
Kloverbox is a lifestyle subscription box that sends 4 or more natural and organic products for you to fall in love with each month. This isn't a beauty subscription. Kloverbox sends products from all categories: beauty, health, food and home products, so you can incorporate more natural products into every aspect of your life!

How Does It Work?
On the Kloverbox site, you can choose a 1, 3 or 6 month subscription. The one month and 3 month subscriptions automatically renew, which means you will be billed again once that cycle is over (monthly, or every 3 months.) The 6 month subscription is a one-time purchase; Meaning you will not be billed again once the 6 month subscription is over. This is a great option to gift to friends and family because you won't have to remember to cancel the subscription. The longer the subscription you choose, the more of a discount you get, which is also awesome!
Another really great thing about Kloverbox is that they usually include a coupon code on the information card for each product for that month. So if you really fall in love with something from your box, you'll be able to get more at a fantastic discount.

How Much?
A month-to-month subscription to Kloverbox is $25 per box.
3 month subscription is $71.25 ($23.75 per box)
6 month subscription is $135 ($22.50) per box.
Shipping is free and fast!
You can save even more money by using the code "HB10" at checkout to save 10% off! This code can be used on any subscription.

Here is the March box which contiains 6 Products!
How sweet is this?! Thank you Kloverbox! ^_^

Urban Oreganics: Rosewater Toner ($14)
Urban Oreganics is a featured Etsy store this month. They handcraft small batches of the highest quality bath and beauty products from natural, sustainable, organic and vegan ingredients. They are cruelty free and based out of Portland OR.
This Rosewater toner is good for all skin types, and naturally removes impurities and dirt left on the skin after cleansing. It tightens pores and prepares the face for the next steps in your skincare regimen! Each ingredient is included for a specific purpose:  Distilled Rosewater is an anti-inflammitory, contains anti-aging properties and soothes irritated skin. Organic Alcohol free witch hazel is an anti-inflammitory that soothes skin, locks in moisture and protects against sun damage. Organic apple cider vinegar treats acne, unclogs and minimizes pores and is anti aging and anti bacterial. You also may see little floating treasures in your toner, that is just the lemon juice that is used to brighten and even the skin tone, treat acne and reduce the appearance of scars and sun spots!
To use, make sure you shake well! Apply to a cotton round and swipe gently across your face. Allow product to dry before continuing your skincare steps.
I have been using this toner for a few nights now and I absolutely adore it! There is no burning-alcohol-astringent feeling, thank goodness! It has a light herbal scent and absorbs quickly into the skin. It really does a fantastic job removing anything that my cleanser may have left behind, and I can notice some of the excess oil on my skin coming off on the cotton pad, giving it a little bit of a yellowish tinge. My pores also look noticeably smaller after use. I have a lot of toners I love, but they do contain some chemicals and simpler is sometimes much better. I'm very interested to see how this continues to work for my skin, and I think I might pick another one of these up for my sister- I think it will be perfect for her!

distilled rosewater, alcohol-free witch hazel, apple cider vinegar, lemon juice
Marley's Monsters: Reusable 3'' Facial Rounds (4) ($2.40)
Marley's Monsters is another featured Etsy store this month, and they are a fantastic company that makes reusable cloth wipes, napkins, crinkle paper toys, multi-purpose towels, nursing pads and more! I love all the adorable fabrics they have to choose from! They even have adorable fabric-covered reusable spray bottles for all your homemade cleaners etc- I think I might have to pick some up!
This is a selection of 4 reusable facial rounds in a white color, although their store sells many fun colors and patterns! You can get a pack of 20 for only $12!
These are a fantastic idea for anyone who plows through cotton rounds during their skincare routine. Guilty as charged! They are made with 2 layers of 100% cotton flannel and are insanely soft! The edges are surged so they won't fray and are super durable, and they are about 3'' in diameter, making them a bit larger than my typical cotton round. These are a great addition to the box to use along with the Rosewater toner, and I have to say- they work amazingly well! There's no endless cotton-shedding going on like with my normal cotton rounds, and I love how gentle and soft they are on my skin.  I was weary at first that I'd be able to let go of my cotton round addiction, but I sat and thought about how many I use per day and how many of the reusable rounds I would need to last me until they could be washed and dried etc. Since I do most of my skincare in bed, I found a cute little floral pail I bought at the Dollar tree, and think I will use it to put my used cotton rounds and wash them with my delicates. I'm going to make a genuine effort to make these a part of my regular routine!

White & Elm: Pomegranate Renewing Eye Serum ($18)
White & Elm is a small batch, handcrafted,  natural skincare company that has it all on lock. They use miminally processed, mostly organic ingredients sourced from organic certified farms and fair-trade suppliers when ever possible. Their formulations are purposefully simplistic, and each ingredient is extensively researched to provide the most effective product. Each of their products contains 10 ingredients or less. All of their products are vegan, cruelty free, organic and plant powered, and contain NO pesticides, synthetic chemicals, chemical fertilizers, herbacides, paraben, phthalates, sulfates, PEGs, fossil fuel derivatives, arificial fragrances, EDTAs, gluten, contaminant residues, fillers, slipping agents, glycols silicones or dyes! Phew! That's an impressive "no" list! You must check out their website! The packaging and product selection is simply lovely!
They've included their Pomegranate Renewing Eye Serum in this month's Kloverbox. Housed in a glass rollerball, this eye serum helps reverse signs of aging and strengthens the delicate skin around the eye area. Pomegranate Oil is included because it's deeply nourishing and naturally high in flavonoids and punicic acid. It also helps aid in healthy skin regeneration. Apricot Kernel oil is light in texture and absorbs easily into the skin for a moisturized, silky finish. It's rich in gamma linoleic acid, whcih helps the skin maintain it's natural moisture balance. Argan oil is high in vitamin E, which deeply hydrates and softens the skin, while restoring elasticity and radiance. Rosehip oil is high in vitamin C and lycopene which restore elasticity to the skin and protect against environmental damages. Avocado oil penetrates the skin more deeply than other oils, which makes it able to provide superior nutrients to the skin. It's loaded with vitamins, amino and fatty acids which increase collagen production to boost skin strength and elasticity. Sea Buckhorn oil is moisturizing and nourishing. It's filled with vitamins and antioxidants that reduce the roughness, as well as the length and depth of fine lines and wrinkles.
A little bit of this serum goes a LONG way. You don't even need to really roll it under your eye all the way. I simply rolled a very small amount out under my eye very gently, and then used a light patting motion to press the serum into my under eye area. You may even have better luck dabbing the roller on your fingertip and then pressing the serum onto your eye area. You need that little.  It has a light scent, but if you've ever smelled raw oils before, it's similar to that- slightly herbal and earthy. This serum absorbs beautifully under the eye and makes the skin feel incredibly soft and smooth. I'm not sure how the long-term results will be yet, but I'm a new fan of White & Elm! I'm very interested in trying some of their other products, especially the toners- I've got a thing for toners!

Prunus Armeniaca (Apricot) Kernel Oil*, Punica Granatum (Pomegranate) Seed Oil*, Argania Spinosa (Argan) Oil*, Rosa Canina (Rosehip) Seed Oil*, Persea Gratissima (Avocado) Oil*, Hippophae Rhamnoides (Sea Buckhorn) Oil*, Mixed Tocopherols (Vitamin E) Oil Non-GMO, *Organic Ingredient

Jillian Wright Skincare: Double Surface Exfoliator ($8)
Jillian Wright Skincare is a new brand to me, however since discovering them in Kloverbox this month, I'm already in love! Jillian Wright, the woman behind the brand, has been a clinical Aesthetician for 20 years and a consultant for some of the top brands in the country. Her line of skincare products mirrors her endless knowledge and expertise, and focuses on age fighting peptides, botanical stem cells, fruit extracts, and a complex called MitoProtect, which targets mitochondrial nourishment and protection of the skin cell. The goal of this line of products it to allow the ingredients to work together in harmony to make skin soft, strong, nourished and well-balanced.  What I love about this brand is that all of the packaging is carefully thought out. She only uses recyclable plastic and glass bottles, and the boxes the products come in are made of 100% post consumer recycled material. The tree-free paper is infused with wild flower seeds, so rather than throwing them away, you can plant them! Love that idea!
This particular product is a natural microdermabrasion exfoliator that contains bamboo stem powder, which moves away pollutants and leaves skin hydrated and smooth. It's rich with AHA, flavonoids and polyhenol phytochemicals that purify the skin while reducing the appearance of wrinkles and pigmentation issues. It also contains Passionflower, which naturally moisturizes and rejuvenates the skin. To use this product, dampen the skin and apply a small amount of the exfoliator to your fingertips and massage onto the face in circular motions, and rinse well. Only use once or twice a week- over exfoliating is a no-no!
I love the gentle, almost sandy texture of this exfoliator. It feels so nice on the skin, not at all irritating, and has a light, herbal scent. I found that after just one use, my skin looked radiant and glowy! It reminds me quite a bit of the Vasanti Brighten Up Face Rejuvenator that I fell in love with from Birchbox. I don't normally do manual exfoliating of any kind, but this one is so gentle and feels so lovely- I think I'm going to be pretty sad when this jar runs out! Something to mention- there are some alcohols and possible acne-triggers in this product, so check the CosDNA Analysis I've posted below. I have sensitive acne-prone skin and haven't had any issues using this so far, but it's worth it to mention!

Aqua (Water), Bambusa Arundinacea (Bamboo) Stem Powder, Glycerin*, 3% Lactic Acid (L), Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Dimethicone, Squalane, Stearic Acid, Behenyl Alcohol, Cetyl Alcohol, Glyceryl Stearate, Titanium Dioxide, Xanthan Gum, Lonicera Caprifolium (Honeysuckle) Flower Extract, Lonicera Japonica (Honeysuckle) Flower Extract, Vanilla Planifolia Fruit Oil, Lavandula Angustifolia (Lavender) Oil, Lonicera Japonica (Honeysuckle) Flower Extract, Passiflora Laurifolia (Passionflower) Flower Extract, Tocopherol (D-alpha), Citric Acid, Boswellia Carterii (Frankincense) Oil, Glycine Soja (Soybean) Oil, Citrus Aurantium Dulcis (Orange) Peel Oil, Santalum Austrocaledonicum (Sandalwood) Wood Oil, Jasminum Officinale (Jasmine) Oil, Phytic Acid, Hamamelis Virginiana (Witch Hazel) Water, Potassium Sorbate, Phenethyl Alcohol, Alcohol Denat., Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, Sucrose Stearate, Sodium Stearoyl Glutamate, Dicaprylyl Ether, Carbomer

Pelle Beauty: Luxe Beauty Balm ($9)
Pelle Beauty is a vegan, cruelty free company that focuses their passion for nature, safe skincare on products that are gentle, easy-to-use, and multitasking, while providing your skin with natural ingredients to make your skin beautifully radiant.
This facial balm has achieved cult status for a reason! It has a waterless, highly concentrated formula that is perfect for dry, sensitive skin types. It's formulated with floral waxes, essential oils and antioxidant-rich ingredients. Tuberose, Rose and Jasmine floral waxes provide a layer of protection to aid in soothing the skin. Broccoli Seed, Raspberry Seed and Avocado oils contain complexion boosting components that nourish the skin.  It's free of water, preservatives, dyes, fillers and synthetic fragrances. You can use this alone, or as an extra layer of moisture for super-dry skin. for skin that may not be completely dry in type, you can use this product as a spot treatment wherever you have dry patches in need of some moisture and soothing.  While I have combination skin that leans oily, I do go heavy-duty on my BHA/AHA exfoliants, and I can sometimes get dry patches on my skin. I think this product would be wonderful for those kinds of moments, but I don't see why this couldn't also be used on parched knees and elbows! If it's safe enough for my face, it's definitely safe for my body too! Once you rub your fingers into this balm, you feel it immediately turn to a fine, light oil. You can also begin to catch the subtle floral/herbal scent is has, which is absolutely lovely. A little goes a long way- simply take a small amount and massage it into any dry patches. This feels like a luxury product for sure!

Brassica oleracea italica (Broccoli) Seed Oil, Rubus idaeus (Raspberry) seed oil, Oryza sativa (Rice) bran oil, Caprylic/capric triglyceride, Cetearyl Olivate (and) Sorbitan Olivate (from olives), Persea gratissima (Avocado) oil, Euphorbia cerifera (candelilla) wax,  Copernicia cerifera (carnauba) wax, Theobroma cacao (cocoa) seed butter, Polianthes tuberosa (Tuberose) flower wax, Jasminum grandiflorum (Jasmine) flower wax, Rosa damascena (Rose) flower wax , Citrus aurantium amara (Neroli/Bitter orange) flower oil, Rosa damascena (Rose)flower oil.

BAGGU: Small 3D Zip Bag in "Mint Stripe" ($8)
Baggu is a fantastic brand that features a wide variety of affordable, easy to store and carry bags made of ripstop nylon, which prevents tearing and ripping. They're completely machine washable as well! You've got to head over to their website and check out some of the other fun prints they have! I have seen these bags around, especially during those late night point-spending binges on birchbox.com, but I never picked one up. This mint-striped bag is kind of perfect! It folds up to the size of a wallet, although you could get it even smaller if you wanted to! It somehow pops up to hold WAY more than you would think it does! What I particularly like about this bag is the handle at the top. I feel like I could hang this off a hook in the bathroom and unzip it just enough to reach in for my toiletries when I'm traveling. You could even store your (reusable!) cotton rounds, toothbrushes, hair accessories, small cosmetics...you name it! Definitely an essential for traveling, and I'm already browsing the site and finding some really great deals, even some great canvas bags on sale!

Overall Thoughts
The March Kloverbox cost $25, and has a total retail value of $59.40!
As always I am completely thrilled with the value of Kloverbox. They consistently come through with what I hope they will do each month, and that is introduce me to new brands, as well as new ideas to help me make better, more natural choices! Reusable cotton rounds are going to be my new "thing" this month! As I've mentioned in the past, I really love that Kloverbox features Etsy stores- it opens up an even wider breadth of businesses to discover and fall in love with, and both of the featured stores this month are already on my Etsy 'favorites' list! As always, I would love to see Kloverbox feature more lifestyle products in future boxes. Maybe an entire box themed around cleaning! Natural sponges and dish soaps, maybe a freshly scented candle, and hey- they could bring back Marley's Monsters and feature some of their reusable cleaning cloths! Hey Kloverbox, I'm around if you want a guest curator! hehe ;)
Overall, Kloverbox remains at the top of the pack for subscription boxes for me. I am not always looking for an insanely high retail value. What I'm looking for is a box that provides me with an experience. A way to try and discover products and brands that I haven't seen or heard of before, or things that I didn't know I couldn't live without! So far, Kloverbox is #1 in terms of excitement for me- each box is such a fun adventure!
If you want to sign up for Kloverbox (and why wouldn't you??) You can do that here!
Don't forget to use HB10 at checkout to save 10% off any length subscription!

  1. So jealous wanting this box. I'm already committed to Glossybox, Sample Society, Mugler Addict, Treatsie and Julep right now, as well as my widely acknowledged yet waning Memebox addiction, but as soon as one of them starts to let me down, Kloverbox is top of my list as a replacement. This and Beautique. And Rainbow Honey. And a couple others.

    I have a problem.

    1. Oh Shannon...You an I are on the same wavelength LOL I have a part time job and almost all the money goes back into the blog for buying subscriptions and review products...and you just reminded me that Mugler Addict exists...now I'm thinking I need it...UGH LOL

  2. Well, here's my Q1 review. It's not bad, but it's not great. Maybe it'll help.

  3. It's so sweet that they wrote you a note for your birthday! I love personal touches like that. And I'd be all over that rosewater toner.

    1. I know I love the thank-you notes in each box! It makes it feel so much more personal! :)

  4. Thank you so much for the discount code, you are a doll and always on top of your game!
I am so excited that I finally been able to subscribe for Kloverbox; After reading your review of February I wanted to subscribe but didn't made it on time for the March box so I can't wait to see what April have in stock for me! both February and March Kloverbox were amazing and I would have loved everything in it!
You are also the reason I subscribed to Beauteque monthly. Congratulation on the success of your honey bag by the way :)

    1. Aww you're so welcome, Tia! :) Kloverbox is definietly one of my favorite subscriptions, so it always makes me so excited when my readers/friends etc join in on the fun! I think you're going to love this service!

And thank you SO much!! You are so sweet! <3 I'm still in shock at how quickly it sold out- I'm just thrilled that it's available to pre-order because I really wanted everyone to have a chance to get it! :)
