Kloverbox April 2015 Review and Unboxing

Most of you know my love for Kloverbox by now. I don't want to sound like a broken record, but I have to say it's currently my favorite subscription. While I admittedly don't like a completely green/natural lifestyle, I try really hard to make better choices with my home and beauty products. I know there are a lot of Natural Subscription boxes out there, however they're either way out of my price range or just unimpressive overall. What's fantastic about Kloverbox, is that it provides a wide variety of natural/organic beauty, food and lifestyle products at a reasonable price. What makes them stand out even more is their excellent ability to curate their boxes. Each month when my box shows up it feels like a special gift from a friend. So much so, that there's a hand-written thank you in each box. I think my favorite thing though, is that Kloverbox includes such a wide variety of brands in their boxes- many of them new to me, but all of them with an interesting story and product line. It's such an enjoyable experience opening this box each month!

I did receive my box last week, but I've been testing everything out a bit so I can give a better review of each item rather than just a quick overview.
 What is Kloverbox?
Kloverbox is a lifestyle subscription box that sends 4 or more natural and organic products for you to fall in love with each month. This isn't a beauty subscription. Kloverbox sends products from all categories: beauty, health, food and home products, so you can incorporate more natural products into every aspect of your life!

How Does It Work?
On the Kloverbox site, you can choose a 1, 3 or 6 month subscription. The one month and 3 month subscriptions automatically renew, which means you will be billed again once that cycle is over (monthly, or every 3 months.) The 6 month subscription is a one-time purchase; Meaning you will not be billed again once the 6 month subscription is over. This is a great option to gift to friends and family because you won't have to remember to cancel the subscription. The longer the subscription you choose, the more of a discount you get, which is also awesome!
Another really great thing about Kloverbox is that they usually include a coupon code on the information card for each product for that month. So if you really fall in love with something from your box, you'll be able to get more at a fantastic discount.

How Much?
A month-to-month subscription to Kloverbox is $25 per box.
3 month subscription is $71.25 ($23.75 per box)
6 month subscription is $135 ($22.50) per box.
Shipping is free and fast!
You can save even more money by using the code "HB10" at checkout to save 10% off! This code can be used on any subscription.

Here is the April box which contains 5 products (plus one bonus item)

BONUS ITEM- Urban Oreganics: Brush Cleaner
I'm not going to get into this item too much, because it was only included in the boxes of subscribers that received last month's box. There was a packaging issue with the Urban Oreganics toner that was included in the March box which caused weird cloudy floaties to appear in the toner. Kloverbox and Urban Oreganics were so fantastic about solving this issue, that they immediately addressed the customers concerns and promised a brand new product as a bonus in the April box. This brush cleaner is Vegan, Organic and 100% natural, which I love. I don't clean my brushes nearly as much as I should (it's a horrible habit of mine) however I'm super excited to have such a natural cleanser for them. I also like the idea of a solid cleanser that I can just swirl my brushes on to rather than a liquid that can get a bit messy. I'm not doing a CosDNA analysis of this since it's cleaning brushes and not my face. I really can't wait to try this out!

Bridge Nine Candle Co: Candle in "Citrus" ($9)
First off, I can never have enough candles. Give me a candle in every subscription box every single month and it still wouldn't be enough! This is the second candle I've received in a Kloverbox, and the scent is absolutely mouthwatering. It's a citrus scent that leans more toward a sweet grapefruit. It's so delicious and perfect for a Spring box! Bridge Nine Candle Co is based in Portland OR, and they hand-pour each of their candles, which are made with all natural soy wax, cotton wicks and fragrance oils. Soy wax is great because it's slow burning, and burns clean. It doesn't always burn as evenly as other candle waxes, but I prefer it due to how much longer the candle lasts. Since the wick is cotton, it does require some trimming. I lit this as soon as I snatched it out of the box and it's already burned down to nothing. I've already planned to purchase a couple of their other candles because I was that impressed with the scent throw and burn time.

Real Beauty For a Cause: Coffee Scrub ($7.50)
Real Beauty For a Cause is a skincare company based in St. Louis MO that create 100% natural products. What makes them awesome is that they are dedicated to producing truly natural skincare, but they also donate 25% of every sale to a rotating list of charities. That's a pretty large percentage! On top of all that, they package all their products in recyclable and reusable jars and ship items in recyclable/reusable packing!
As I talk about often, my favorite thing in the entire world is coffee. You will very rarely see me without a coffee cup in my hand, so I am super happy to have a coffee I can take into the shower with me! This coffee scrub smells absolutely amazing and is made with the most minimal amount of ingredients: Coffee, Sea Salt, avocado oil and cinnamon oil. That's it, y'all! I've already used this twice and it's actual perfection. Not only does it smell amazing (did I mention it smells amazing?) but it's exfoliating without being rough or irritating on my skin. I definitely can feel a significant difference in the softness of my skin after using this, but I don't have that tingling, irritated feeling on my skin like other scrubs can give.

Kosmatology: Foaming Hand Soap in "Orange Sweetness" ($8.99)
We received a hand sanitizer from Kosmatology in a past Kloverbox and I really loved it, so I was super happy to see them make a return in this box!
I love foaming hand soaps. In fact, they're the only type of hand soap I will use. I'm not sure where my obsession came from, but let's just say Bath and Body Works foaming soaps own my soul. This Kosmatology soap has such a fresh, real-orange scent and is paraben and sulfate free. Sweet! There are no thickening agents, perfumes or triclosan in this soap, either. All their soaps are made the old fashioned way: using only organic oils like coconut, olive and safflower. All the scents come from organic essential oils. I can't really "review" this other than say it smells amazing, cleans my hands nicely, and doesn't have any gross chemicals/ingredients. What I love the most about this soap is how creamy the foam is and how moisturized and soft my hands feel after using it. Totally sold on these!

Rani's Yummy: Granola Shooters in "Original Yum" ($1.99)
Rani's Yummy "Shooters" were born when the owner became a  mom and wanted to create a tasty and nutritious snack for her son. You can pronounce all the ingredients in these granola snack packs, and only the highest quality, natural ingredients are included!
I received the original butter oats flavor, which is basically what you would call the "plain" flavor. It has a light sweetness, and that perfect nutty crunch of a really great granola. These were great on their own, but I also enjoyed sprinkling them on top of my yogurt. I especially like their travel-friendly packaging because I can easily toss this into my lunch bag and bring them to work!

Old Orchard: No. 10 Baobab & Rosehip Lotion Bar ($28)
This was quite a big ticket item: This product alone retails at more than the entire Kloverbox!
Old Orchard is a super-classy looking kind of company. That sounds weird I'm sure, but I was super impressed by their products, website and overall aesthetic. They create all-natural skincare products that reveal effortless beauty by soothing, hydrating, healing and comforting the skin. The owner, Amy Adams, says she is inspired by a "blend of ancient wisdom, naturally perfect ingredients mother nature provides, and the science behind their miraculous power to heal and transform."
All Old Orchard products are 100% natural, minimally processed and contain natural ingredients that have been long proven to hydrate and heal the skin. I think what makes them stand out even more are their absolutely lovely products. I mean...just look at this stunning lotion bar!
I've used lotion bars before, but never one this beautiful! This bar moisturizes the body with mango, shea, baobab and rosehip. It has a sweet citrus scent, is non greasy and absorbs quickly. Lotion bars are very easy to use- simply use the warmth of your hands to melt the bar and apply as much of it as you like to dry areas of your skin. You can also swipe the bar directly onto the skin and then use your hand to massage the lotion until it's absorbed.

Overall Thoughts
The April Kloverbox costs $25 and had a total retail value of over $55! That doesn't even include the bonus brush cleaner! I love that Kloverbox always provides at least double the value from what you pay- but more importantly: Kloverbox truly provides quality. Each month I am consistently impressed by the products I receive. Very rarely do I make purchases from comapanies featured in subscription boxes, however I have made multiple purchases from companies featured in Kloverbox. I'm always so excited about finding natural/organic products that not only work, but look beautiful and make great gifts. I am even planning on buying another Old Orchard Lotion Bar for my mom for Mother's Day. As I've mentioned before, Kloverbox provides generous coupon codes for all their featured brands each month which makes the value of the box even larger for me. When I'm able to shop small business AND save money- that's a win/win!
Overall this box was a home run. I absolutely loved that there was a variety of product-types. Food, Home, and Beauty were all represented perfectly. You know I'm a sucker for a well-curated boxes! I don't think there was one thing in this box that I could choose as a favorite. I've tried everything and have really enjoyed each item in it's own right. I think that's what makes this such a great box this month: Everything is awesome!

If you want to sign up for Kloverbox (and why wouldn't you??) You can do that here!
Don't forget to use HB10 at checkout to save 10% off any length subscription!

Smashbox + Donald Robertson Photo Angle Pure Pigment Liner

I really love winged liner. It took me quite a long time to really master applying it, though. While drawing a wing can be a difficult task for anyone who is trying it for the first time, it's especially hard for those of us who have hooded lids. When my eyes are open, my eyelid sort of folds over itself which causes liner to regularly transfer onto my upper eyelid if I don't use a really long-wearing one.
On top of that, those of us with hooded lids have another challenge: getting the wing to look right. Since my lids fold onto themselves, I could draw a perfect wing and then relax my eye only to see it looks lopsided or completely disappears under the fold of skin. I wish I was a makeup artist so I could explain to you hooded-lid ladies how I actually apply my wings, but my only advice to you is to practice over and over. It's amazing how much wider and more awake your eyes look with a perfectly applied wing!

To make your liner look it's best, you really need to find the right type for you. Some people prefer pencils, others like liquid or gel liners. The liner I'm reviewing today however, is a gel pigment, which is completely different from anything else I've tried before.

Smashbox recently teamed up with artist Donald Robertson to create some limited edition products and I kept hearing buzz about the pigment gel liner. I wasn't entirely sure what made it different from other liners, but I decided to read a bit about it and see if it was worth picking up.

The Photo Angle Pure Pigment Liner comes in a wide variety of shades, however for the purpose of this review I decided to stick with black since it's the color most people would choose to wear for everyday use. I trotted out to Sephora, went right for the liner and made a beeline to the register. I cannot allow myself to actually shop or I will empty my bank account in there!
Once I did reach the Smashbox section though, I noticed that all the tester liners they had were dried out or the packaging was broken. That was a bit of a red flag for me because my local Sephora is pretty good at keeping fresh testers out. When I brought the liner to the register, I asked the girl working if she had heard any feedback on it. She mentioned that a few customers are obsessed with it, although many people have returned it due to the packaging breaking and the product not twisting up etc. I figured I'd bring it home and see for myself how it worked over time. At the time of writing this, I've had the liner for a little over 2 weeks now, so I think I'm pretty confident in my findings!

Claims and Info
Nothing makes a picture pop like some serious color. Smashbox developed a spectrum of high-impact, richly-pigmented hues from powerful purples to bold blues. It’s all about playtime with this Photo Angle Pure Pigment Gel Liner, which combines the boldness of a gel with the originality of a marker—no brush required. The unique flexible tip features a versatile, angled shape that lets you create any line from thin to thick. Plus, the creamy formula glides on for a smooth line every time. With up to 36 hours of non-stop wear, you never have to worry about smudging, flaking, or fading. This waterproof formula dries instantly for a head-turning look that lasts.

I can totally get behind a liner that will wear for 36 hours, won't smudge, flake or fade. Sounds a little too good to be true, though!
The box is covered in a sleeve that has artwork done by Donald Robertson. Not exactly my cup of tea, but I suppose it's an interesting departure from the usual Smashbox packaging!
Once the sleeve is removed, the regular Smashbox packaging is revealed. You can see their very clear "36 Hour Wear" claim right there on the box, so you bet your butt I made sure to test that out!
Inside is the liner tube. It's about the thickness of a Nyx Eye or Lip Crayon. The one thing I want to mention here is the cap screws on and off, which is something I wasn't aware of in the store. Apparently customers (myself included) were trying to yank the caps off and breaking the tubes, so if you do happen to run out and pick this up, remember to twist the cap off rather than pull it!
In order to get the pigment into the tip of the liner pen, you must twist from the bottom. It makes a "clicking" sound, and according to Smashbox you only need "1 click" for each eye. However when you first get the product it's going to take 10+ clicks to get the pigment to start flowing. Take your time with this- you don't want to twist it too much too quickly and waste product!
The tip of this liner pen is actually made of a flexible rubber and is packaged with a red stopper to keep the pigment from coming out in transit. You can see it has a decent sized hole for the pigment to be released, and an angled edge to make applying a wing easier.
I also twisted the pigment up a bit to show you what it looks like right out of the tube. It's weird, guys. It's like nothing I've ever used before, honestly. The best way I can describe the consistency is like a thick, pasty, matte gel. It almost looks like plastic when it comes out. So weird.

You definitely don't need as much as you see in my photo though- one click is enough, like Smashbox suggests. The photo above shows about 3 clicks.

Below are some swatches I did on my skin before I applied it to my eyes. The top left photo is just two simple swatches.
The top right photo is how many swatches I could do with about 2 clicks worth of gel before it started to wear out.
The bottom left photo is what the swatches look like when I rubbed them extremely vigorously with my fingers. Some of the swatches faded a bit, but you can see the original 2 swatches I did were still pretty intact.
The final photo in the bottom left area is what the liner looks like when I used a cleansing wipe. I have to say it took some elbow grease to get them to come off. I had to use a stronger makeup remover to get the rest of the residue off.

Application and Wear
So the application is anything but easy, I have to say right off the bat. The tip is flexible rubber, however it doesn't really form to the shape of your eyes. You really have to be careful applying this because once it's on your eye, it's on there for good. There's not a lot of room for error with this product at all. Smashbox suggests starting at the middle of your eye and going out, then going back and finishing the rest of your eye. I say just do whatever is most comfortable for you!
These pictures are completely unedited so you can see exactly what it looks like. This was my first time using this liner, and while I apply a wing almost every day, I do have to admit it was a bit tricky for me to use this. I just didn't feel like I had total control with it. Having said that, it created a really nice looking, matte black wing that I was quite happy with!

Long Term Results
Here's where things got a little hairy. Not only do I have hooded lids, but they're also quite oily. I have a very hard time finding liner that stays put for me for longer than an hour. This liner claims a 36 hour wear time, however I didn't find that to be the case in the slightest.
I found the liner on my actual lid stayed in place throughout the entire day, which I was pleased with, however the bottom of the wing closest to the outer corner of my eye began to smudge and wipe away within a couple of hours of wear. This wasn't a huge deal to me because I'm used to every liner doing that (damn oily lids) but considering this is touted as such a long-wearing product I was hoping for a miracle...or at least hoping that it would do what it claimed.

Another issue I found with this liner is that the gel tends to kind of get thicker and almost dry and flaky over time. After I used this liner for about a week, I noticed that when I began to apply, it started coming out a bit dry and balled up on my eye. I'm truly not sure if this is the liner itself or perhaps I didn't close the lid completely and allowed it to dry out. I've read conflicting reviews where people have had the same issues as me and others who haven't had a single problem with the gel getting dried out. It's possible there's a packaging issue more so than a formulation issue here, but it's something I can't say for sure.
Overall Thoughts
I'm really on the fence with this one. On one hand, I really think the formula is something new and interesting, and perhaps on someone without hooded, oily lids, this would be very long-wearing. I really liked the finished look with this, and while it didn't wear as long as I would have liked it to, I'm happy that it didn't transfer on the upper part of my eyelid and it seemed to stay for longer than most of the current liners in my collection.
My only worry is how quickly this liner dried out for me. I feel like a liner that costs over $20 should last me longer than 2 weeks of casual use (2-3 times a week.) I almost want to bring this back to Sephora and see if I can exchange it for a different one to see if it happens again. Makeup science experiments, people!

Overall, I probably would recommend this to anyone who is already pretty good at creating wings with their liner and does not have hooded lids. This isn't a beginner-friendly product by any means. It does apply a really pigmented, matte black line that will last much longer than your regular liner, although I think how long will vary from person to person.

If you're interested in this liner, you can grab one for $24 at Sephora!

Love With Food Deluxe Box April 2015 Review and Unboxing (Plus Free Box Offer!)

While I'm no stranger to the regular $10 Love with Food Boxes, the deluxe boxes were totally new to me a few months ago. I found a groupon that allowed me to get a 3 month Deluxe Box Subscription for an insanely low price ($26 for all 3 months, and they're normally $20 per box!) This Groupon is still available, but only in certain areas so it's not easy to find on the site. (Use this link to go directly to the deal)
I think it's definitely worth it to jump on that Groupon deal. I've already purchased it again since my 3 month subscription is over. My fiance and I had such a great time snacking on everything in these boxes, and the Deluxe boxes give you more than enough goodies to share! I could not wait to dig into this month's box. You don't want to open this when you're hungry- trust me- you'll end up eating everything!

The Deets
Love with Food is a $10 a month (+$2 shipping) subscription box that features 8+ organic and/or all natural snacks delivered to you monthly. For every box sold, they donate a meal to a food bank in an effort to support the end of child hunger. I think it's an absolutely wonderful cause and makes me feel good about subscribing to them!
Love with Food also offers a Deluxe Box which is the one I will be reviewing this month. The deluxe boxes cost $19.95 per month (free shipping) and features 16-20 snacks. It seems like the deluxe boxes are double the amount you get in the regular box, plus a few extra goodies.
They also have a Gluten Free box available for anyone that might be interested!

Get a Free Box!
Love with Food offers new subscribers their first box for free! (You just pay $2 shipping) and you can cancel at anytime with the quick click of a button on their site. If you want to try one out for yourself, you can do so by using THIS LINK.

This month's theme was "Starry Nights."
After a long winter, it's all about clear skies, bright stars and a little time to exhale. Celebrate the quiet moments. Take it to the porch or sneak a snack when everyone else is asleep. Each box purchased means a food bank donation. So when you're done nibbling, you can rest easy knowing you've helped. Keep Shining!
PoppedCorners: Popped Corn Chips in "White Cheddar" and "Kettle"
I have seen these chips around before, although I can't remember where! They've always looked so yummy, so I was happy to see two different flavor here. I brought the white cheddar to work with me and wow- they are SO yummy! If you like white cheddar popcorn, these are an obvious must-have. I'm not huge on Kettle flavored things because I rarely like sweetness on things that I feel like should be savory. These have a light sweetness though, and it reminds me of those popcorn balls that they used to sell when I was a kid. I would definitely repurchase the white cheddar flavor- way too yummy!
Vintage Italia: Pasta chips in "Garlic Olive Oil"
I cannot tell you how happy I am to see these in this box! My local grocery store carries these chips and I have been obsessed with them! I usually get the Alfredo and Marinara flavors and hadn't seen or tried this one yet. I think they taste exactly like freshly baked garlic bread. SO insanely good. So delicious in fact, I bought a pack of 30 small bags with my points on the Love With Food shop. In case you didn't know, you can review the box and the snacks included to get points that you can use to buy things in their shop, sort of like Birchbox points- but for delicious snacks!
Liz Lovely: Chocolate Moose Dragon Cookie
There's a great coffee shop in my city called In-House Coffee, and they have had the Liz Lovely cookies since I started going there. I've tried a few varieties of them, but I have yet to try this flavor. These cookies are awesome because they somehow manage to be vegan AND delicious! I mean, these things are super decadent and have some pretty hefty calories, but if you are vegan and want a really delicious sweet snack, these cookies are great for that. Plus, they're HUGE- you can share them with someone and still be totally satisfied.

Ziyad: Wild Garden Hummus Snack Pack
I absolutely love Hummus, but I've never tried a hummus that didn't need to be refrigerated, so this is an interesting one for me! I love how this snack pack comes with chips and hummus in a little box- it makes it so easy to take along with me to work! I actually haven't tried this one yet because I'm on vacation from work and I want to save this to take with me as a snack on my break, but I'm really loving the portability of this and can't wait to see if I like it- definitely something I'd consider purchasing more of.

YumEarth: Sour Beans
These jelly beans are made with real fruit extracts, no artificial dyes or flavors, and are loaded with vitamin C. They might be the healthiest jelly beans you'll find! I didn't try these because I'm rarely in the mood for fruity or sour candies, but my fiance loves this kind of snack. He said they were very good, but not very sour. So if that's what's holding you back from trying these, go for them anyway!
Mighty Leaf Tea: Green Tea Tropical
When I was a teenager, one of my first real important jobs was an assistant manager at a cafe that was in a local bookstore. I absolutely loved that job, and it just so happens that the tea we offered there was Mighty Leaf. I love that each tea bag looks and feels like it's made out of fancy organza. I'm not a tea drinker at all, but if I were, Might Leaf would probably be my favorite. Their teas are so pretty, and I've heard they're also quite delicious!
Luna Bar: Lemon Zest Mini
I've gotten mini Luna Bars in my Love With Food boxes before, so I kind of wish these weren't included again. It's not like they're bad or anything, but I would rather have something new. I'm also not a fan of Lemon Zest flavor desserts or energy bars etc, so I didn't try these. What I do know, is that when it comes to Luna Bars, I either find them delicious, or really gross. I like the mini's because I'm able to get different flavors and see if I like them before buying boxes of the larger ones.
Walkers: Shortbread
I know I've seen these all over the place, and I've had so many people tell me they're delicious! I really love Shortbread cookies, and I have to say these are some of the best I've had. They are SUPER buttery though- it almost feels like eating a stick of butter at times, haha. They are really decadent and crumbly. I wouldn't say no to eating these again, but they are pretty rich and sweet which I'm not always in the mood for so I don't think I'd purchase these for myself again.
Back to Nature: Mini Chocolate Chunk Cookies
If you're wondering why these cookies were photographed all by themseslves: it's because I immediately started eating them while I was photographing everything, haha. I was so in the mood for a cookie and as soon as I saw them I busted them open. These cookies have Rainforest Alliance-certified chocolate chips, and no high fructose corn syrup. They taste like fancier, more delicious Chips Ahoy. Yes please!
Overall Thoughts
Again, I feel like I got more than my money's worth with the Love with Food Deluxe Box. $19.95 for a wide variety of snacks, and more than enough to share with my fiance! I love that there's always recognizable products mixed with new-to-me snacks as well. I rarely continue to purchase snack subscriptions long-term no matter how good they are, but now that my 3 month subscription is up, I've already purchased another 3 months through Groupon. I just can't live without this box!

Don't Forget!
If you're interested in trying Love with Food, you can get a free box (just pay $2 shipping) when you use THIS LINK.

If you'd rather go all-in, you can get the Groupon for a 3-Month Subscription of the Deluxe Box for only $26. (Boxes are usually $20 each so this is a great deal) Get the Groupon HERE.

Naturebox April 2015 Review and Unboxing

I cannot believe it's already time for my April Naturebox review! Time is seriously flying by...I cannot believe how close we are to summer! Since I work at a school aftercare program, I also get the same Summer vacation as the kids do. I am already checking off the days before I'm spending my mornings lounging on my front porch sipping iced coffee with my best friend and snacking on my Naturebox goodies!

About NatureBox
Naturebox delivers a world of carefully sourced and nutritionist-approved foods right to your door. Each snack contains wholesome ingredients - with no artificial sweeteners, flavors or colors. Snacking has never been so deliciously fun and naturally easy.

How It Works
Naturebox has you choose a subscription plan from the following options:
 Free Trial
This option is a small sampler box that contains 5 different snacks. It's free, however they have a $2 shipping charge on this box, AND it rolls into a monthly subscription. So if you are interested in this option but do not want a subscription, make sure you cancel as soon as your box ships.

You can also choose to pay month-to-month for your subscription, which is $19.95 per month.
There are also discounted rates for subscriptions that are paid in advance, so if you know you'll be subscribing for awhile, these are good routes to take.
Each box contains 5 snacks, and to my knowledge, an occasional "bonus snack" that Naturebox chooses and adds into your box.

Many Options
You can leave your box up to chance, which has NatureBox choose all the snacks that will be in your box, or you can browse their snack library and add things to your "pantry." This will let Naturebox know which snacks you are interested in trying, and they will incorporate them into your box.

You can also add extra snacks into your box. Each snack costs a different price to add on, however the more you add on, the less the snacks cost.

So now that we've got the basics out of the way, Let's take a look at what I got in my Naturebox, and what I thought of each snack!

Salt and Pepper Lentil Loops
I actually had no idea what these would taste like when I chose them, but I was definitely curious! I have to say that these are super yummy and satisfy my salty chip craving. They kind of have the consistency of Cheese puffs with a salt and pepper taste. My one warning with these is not eat too many at once. At first, the pepper flavor is perfect but if you eat a few too many, your entire mouth will be on fire. I always forget how intense pepper can be!

Cheedar and Onion Sunflower Kernels
If you have read my past Nature Box reviews, you may have noticed I don't get fruit-based snacks very often. That's really because I have lots of fillings as well as sensitive teeth and chewy fruit is just not a good thing for me to be eating. Having said that, nuts and seeds can get stuck in my teeth too- I just could not resist these sunflower seeds! These are SO good. Like amazingly good. My fiance doesn't like seeds of any kind (especially sunflower!) and he actually said these tasted "pretty good" which was shocking! I could not stop snacking on these, which might be their downfall- they're so tasty you'll just keep eating them until they're gone! I'm going to try the other flavor they have available next month (I think it's Ranch?) so we'll see how they compare!

Cinnamon Swirl Kettle Kernels
I was a little unsure of these at first. I love "corn nuts" as I like to call them, as long as they're not tooth-breaking hard in consistency. I've also never tried a sweet version of them before. My mom used to make my sister and I buttered popcorn with cinnamon and sugar sprinkled on top when I was younger, and the flavor of these kettle kernels is very close. I do think that they're a bit too hard for my teeth, but they were happily scooped up by my roommate who said they were delicious!

Lemon Almond Biscotti Bites
So I really wanted the Belgian Waffle Bites that they have available, but for some reason they always sell out  before my box ships and send me a different snack from my "pantry," which is a list of the snacks I like or I am interested in trying. I have received these in a past box, and I think they are super delicious. Even if you're not a huge fan of lemon (which I'm not) these are still so yummy. Having said that, I really wish Nature Box would send a message letting the customer know the things they chose for their box wouldn't be available, and give the customer the opportunity to choose a different snack. They have substituted a snack in 3 of my boxes so far and I would really prefer to choose my own. Having said that, I chose the waffle bites for next month and I'm crossing my fingers they actually show up!

Chocolate Hazelnut Granola
So I really love the taste of granola, but I rarely eat anything that it goes well with. I'm not a huge cereal or yogurt person, so I usually like to eat granola right out of the bag, as is. For that to be good, it needs to have lots of flavor and not be too sweet/dessert-like. I thought this one was going to be that way, but it actually had just the right amount of chocolate bits in it. The only bummer was I couldn't taste the hazelnut at all. I love chocolate/hazelnut together, so I was sad to find it just tasted more like chocolate granola. This was pretty good objectively, but it's not something I would choose to get again.
Overall Thoughts
I really liked all the snacks I got in this month's box flavor and freshness-wise, however I didn't like how hard the kettle kernels were and I was a bit let down by the lack of hazelnut flavor in the granola. I think my favorite snack in the bunch by far was the Cheddar and Onion sunflower seeds- I seriously could not stop eating them! I have chosen some interesting snacks for May's box, so I'm hoping they all show up and there aren't an unwelcome substitutes! I also wish that Nature Box would release a wider selection of snacks each month- I feel like I've tried most of the ones I'm interested in, so let's see some new ones! I'm still happy with my Nature Box overall because I think the portions are usually generous and I'm able to have a variety of snack choices for my lunch at work. I can't see myself ending the subscription unless I start to get tired of the options and there aren't new ones becoming available.

Wantable Accessories April 2015 Review and Unboxing

So we're all aware that I love Wantable Accessories. But did you know I love it so much that I actually bought TWO boxes this month? Yep. My love is that real. I had a coupon that was mailed to me to get my first Accessories box for $20 instead of $40, so I couldn't resist opening a second account and grabbing one. I've had really good luck with the Wantable Accessories box and it's by far the best one in my opinion. I knew that if I didn't like anything I could always return it and get my $20 back, so as usual, there was no risk, which I totally love! This review includes both of the boxes I received this month- so get ready for lots of jewelry/accessories goodness!
The Details
(feel free to skip this section if you're already familiar with Wantable!)
Wantable offers a variety of different subscriptions, each one of them costing $40 per month. There is a way to make the price lower, which I will explain later.
The boxes that Wantable currently offers are Accessories, Makeup, Intimates and Fitness. You are able to subscribe to one or all the boxes on one account if you so choose!
Wantable is much different from other subscriptions in that it's completely customizable and risk-free. You take a profile quiz to tell the stylists exactly what you want or don't want based on a "Love, Like, Don't Want" scale. They will never send you something you have marked as "don't want." If you hate necklaces, you'll never get them. If you are tired of getting red lipsticks in subscription boxes, you can simply tell wantable you never want them. Problem solved! You can take the profile quiz as many times as you want- so if one month you want to get socks and bras, but don't want any the following month, simply change your preferences! It really is that simple!

Here's what makes this a really interesting experience: You can return your entire box if you're not happy with it. Even better? You can return or keep as many or as few items as you want! Not only do you get to tell them exactly what you like and don't like, but you can return anything you're not really into- or even return the whole box for a full refund!
You can start the return process on their website and be done in just minutes. You're able to see how much credit you will receive for the item you're returning, and then you can print out a return label free of charge. Then simply stick the item(s) in the box everything came in, tape the label to the box and leave it outside for the mailman!

$4 Credit for Keeping Everything
If you decide to keep everything in your box, Wantable will reward you with a $4 credit, which you can put toward your next box, making it only $36. This way, you're rewarded for keeping your products, however you also get credits or a refund for anything you return. You really can't go wrong!

There is nothing I hate more than a subscription box that doesn't have a way to cancel easily and quickly! As if Wantable couldn't get any better...they allow you to cancel your subscription with one click on their website. If you don't want to cancel, but would rather skip a month or two, they also have a "skip" button available. Awesome!
Here's a peek at how I rated things on their survey. As I mentioned, Wantable will never send you anything you've listed under "dislike" and they will try to send you more things from your Love category if they possibly can.

Let' take a look at the boxes!

BOX #1
The Dolly Necklace was the first item in my $20 box. My usual box only has "boho" listed for a style, but this one I decided to do boho and "mix and match" just to see what I would get. This necklace definitely leans on the boho side with the natural stones and gold/brass metal. I love the mint color of the stones, they look like jade, which makes me love it even more. This necklace is also adjustable so you can wear it closer to your neck or a bit longer to rest mid-chest. I absolutely love this because you can definitely dress it up or down.
Next up is the first ring I've ever gotten from Wantable. The Farrah Ring has a gold brushed metal branch detailing, and I'm obsessed with it! I loved it when I first saw it, although I was worried it wouldn't fit or it would be uncomfortable.
Luckily it fits perfectly and it's comfortable! I will say that the back of it can start to be a bit irritating after wearing it for hours, so this isn't something I'd put on if I was using my hands a lot (writing or typing for example) but it's the perfect statement ring for a night out without being gaudy or obvious.
I have necklaces listed as a "Love" because they're my favorite type of jewelry to wear. This Witney Necklace features a gold adjustable chain with a large frosty white stone that almost glows in the light. It's absolutely beautiful. The chain is adjustable enough where you can wear this along with a smaller, shorter necklace, so it's great for layering. I think that this is definite a boho piece, but it's again not overly so. I love natural-looking stones in my jewelry, so this is a big win for me.

The last item in my first box is the Erika Scarf. I left scarf on my list of things I'm interested in getting, because I don't have many Spring scarves. This one features a coral and white tribal pattern and is made of a super soft cotton. It's not thick or heavy at all, and it looks so good with a plain v-neck t-shirt and jeans. It's just the right piece to bump up the chic level of an otherwise simple outfit. Definitely the exact type of scarf I was hoping for!
So my first box ended up being the very first box that I kept every piece! I'm super happy with the quality and design of everything in this box. Having such good luck with this one, I was hoping for another home run when my second box arrived!

BOX #2
I got a note in my box that they ran out of the black velvet pouches, so all my jewelry was in plastic baggies. That was fine and all, but they put this necklace and another in the same bag and they were SUPER tangled. Wasn't pleased with that, but I luckily was able to get them untangled. I hope that doesn't become a regular thing. Regardless, this is the Isa Necklace and it's super pretty! While it's only one necklace, it gives the allusion of 3. One has peach and mint beads with brass finishings, the second has purple and grey beads, and the shortest has pale brown beads. This necklace is awesome for those days where I want to layer necklaces but don't want to spend the time coordinating them. Yea...I spend 20-30 minutes thinking about which necklaces I'm going to wear each day, no joke! This is a great piece for those work days where i want a pretty piece to wear that is fast and easy to throw on.
The Lou Necklace is the one that was all tangled up with the previous one. Once I was able to free it, I had mixed feelings. I love the gold and the natural, unpolished stones but that's where my love ends. This is a long necklace, but I think the design of this fits better if it rested on my chest. The way that this is shaped makes it impossible to sit the way it's supposed to. You can see how it's supposed to look in the photo, however with just the slightest movement, it gets all tangled and hangs in a weird way. The style fits with my profile, but I just wasn't a fan of how it looked.
These are the Liv Earrings and they feature gold brushed metal loops and cute frost-white beads dangling from them. I was a little unsure about these at first. They are definitely cute, but I feel like they fall more into the "classic" category of jewelry than the boho one that I asked for. They're a bit bigger than the earrings I normally wear as well. I tried them on anyway and was surprised how nice they looked! Since the metal and color of the stones is very neutral, I feel like I could wear these with a simple necklace and let them be the star of the outfit.
Finally, one of my favorite things to have dozens of: Sunglasses! These are the Olivia Sunglasses and they are a gold aviator style with a teal tribal print on the arms. Visually, I'm obsessed with these. I love the pattern on the sides and aviator-style sunglasses always look super cool. Unfortunately, they don't work with my face shape at all. For some reason, aviators make me look like an old man or something. I just cannot pull them off no matter how badly I want to. I was so sad about having to return these, but hopefully I'll get a nice pair next month!
My second box was a bit less exciting than my first, and in the end I kept 2 out of the 4 items. Only returning 2 out of 8 pieces is a big success for me overall, though! I still think that Wantable Accessories is one of my favorite subscription boxes right now. I think there's eventually going to be a time where I just have too many pieces of jewelry, but the great thing about Wantable is that you can skip months rather than cancel. That way if I need a break, I can just skip a few months and start up again when I get the itch for new pieces. I don't think I've reached the point where I've had enough yet, although I will admit I have too many necklaces already- I just cannot put them in the "dislike" pile because Wantable really has some beautiful ones!
