Kloverbox May 2015 Review and Unboxing!

I know- It's already June and I'm just posting my May Kloverbox review now, but I promise you it's not because of my crazy-busy schedule lately! There was a little delay in the May boxes because Kloverbox was waiting on one more product before they could ship them out, so subscribers ended up getting these a bit on the late side. It happens from time to time, so it wasn't a concern for me, however I wanted to get this review up as soon as I could so it wouldn't overlap with the upcoming June box! I think Kloverbox and Beauteque are currently my favorite packages/subscriptions to get in the mail these days because they're constantly sending me something I don't already have, which is what I'm looking for in a subscription. I've gotten quite picky with subs lately, so you've gotta impress me with curation or I'm not interested! Luckily Kloverbox impresses month after month, so I know I have nothing to worry about!

What is Kloverbox?
Kloverbox is a lifestyle subscription box that sends 4 or more natural and organic products for you to fall in love with each month. This isn't a beauty subscription. Kloverbox sends products from all categories: beauty, health, food and home products, so you can incorporate more natural products into every aspect of your life!

How Does It Work?
On the Kloverbox site, you can choose a 1, 3 or 6 month subscription. The one month and 3 month subscriptions automatically renew, which means you will be billed again once that cycle is over (monthly, or every 3 months.) The 6 month subscription is a one-time purchase; Meaning you will not be billed again once the 6 month subscription is over. This is a great option to gift to friends and family because you won't have to remember to cancel the subscription. The longer the subscription you choose, the more of a discount you get, which is also awesome!
Another really great thing about Kloverbox is that they usually include a coupon code on the information card for each product for that month. So if you really fall in love with something from your box, you'll be able to get more at a fantastic discount.

How Much?
A month-to-month subscription to Kloverbox is $25 per box.
3 month subscription is $71.25 ($23.75 per box)
6 month subscription is $135 ($22.50) per box.
Shipping is free and fast!

This month's box theme was "Walkin on Sunshine!" And contains 5 products.

Delizioso Skincare: TARA Adorned Blushing Mousse ($29.95)
Delizioso Skincare is a company ran by two sisters who wanted to change the way cosmetics were made. When they discovered the amount of toxic chemicals that went into the cosmetics we wear everyday, they decided to create a line of their own that would include all the products any woman would need, that also contained natural, fresh ingredients.
This particular product is their Blushing Mousse, and while it comes in a cute little jar, this really doesn't do justice to how pretty some of their packaging is! I would really encourage you to take a look at their website if you're a packaging fiend like I am!
This blush is a mousse formula that blends into skin to give it a natural flush of color. It's 100% natural, vegan, cruelty and gluten free, as well as made with certified organic ingredients. This shade is supposedly flattering on all complexions, although I can only speak for my own- and it looks lovely! It can be worn over or under powder, on the cheeks, lips or eyelids. Although as I mention with most cream blushes, it has a bit of a chalky appearance on the lips, so I think this is one I'd keep on my cheeks.
The moment I opened this I could smell vanilla frosting. It's such a delicious scent! Checking their site, I noticed it is "Pure Madegascar Vanilla." I really loved how nicely this blended out on my cheeks and gave me a pretty flush of color. The color is definitely buildable for a more intense look too, if you prefer. For the swatch, I did a couple of layers so you could get a better idea of the shade, but it's definitely not that intense if you blend it out. I love cream blushes for Summer, so this one is going right into my regular makeup routine!

Eco-Armor: Shave With Benefits Shaving Foam in "Mint + Eucalyptus" ($15)
I have very pale, sensitive skin, and while I tend to focus on facial skincare here on my blog, I have to say that the skin on my body is the most sensitive and the most damaged over time. I have a skin condition that causes me to get large cysts randomly that usually leave pretty deep scars, not to mention anything with too much perfume or chemical tends to irritate my skin. I'm always on the lookout for a natural shave cream that works well and doesn't give me razor burn, so I was genuinely thrilled to see this Mint and Eucalyptus shave Foam in the box! Kloverbox has this listed at $12, however I noticed on the site that this small size retails for a whopping $18 and is on sale for $15, currently.
Shave with Benefits is a line from Eco-Armor. The shave foam comes in a few different scents, although I was super happy to get this one- it's so invigorating and fresh! The foam is abundant with just one pump. Below I took a picture of about a half-a-pump's worth:
I was concerned that if I spread the foam around on my legs that it would sort of disappear, but it actually leaves a layer on the skin that you can shave with. This shaving foam claims to help with nicks and cuts, ingrown hairs, razor burn, and bumps, so I of course wanted to try this out immediately. No matter what I shave with, my pale legs tend to be loaded with razor burn and cuts unless I use a new blade and a pound of shaving cream every single shave. I was actually quite impressed with this foam and how well it worked! I can't say it was the best shave of my entire life, but I definitely had less bumps and irritation which was wonderful. The only downfall of this foam is that you do have to use a decent amount to coat your legs properly. I used about 2 pumps and even then, I think I could have used another half pump or so. Doing that daily, this small size would not last you very long. The 5oz version is only $22 currently, so getting the larger size is much more cost-efficient if you are interested!

Preserve: Triple Razor System ($8.50)
Of course, what would be the point of a shaving cream without a razor, right? This Razor comes from Preserve, which is a company that uses recycled materials to create new products. They have all kinds of items on their website, from food storage to toothbrushes! This razor in particular is made from recycled yogurt cups...how cool is that?
The Triple Razor System comes in a variety of colors, and comes with the handle and 2 3-blade cartridges. You can also recycle the handle after use, which is awesome! Replacement blades can be purchased on the Preserve website as well. You can get 4 cartridges for $8.50, which is a pretty good price considering replacement blades are highway robbery in the drugstore!
Having said that, I can't say that this razor is anything magical, really. I haven't used a 3-blade razor in so long since most of the women's razors these days are 4-5 blades. I was able to shave with it just fine, although I admittedly prefer my Schick Hydro. Having said that, if you're looking for a more eco-friendly alternative to the razor you're currently using, this one is great, and performed much better than I had anticipated given the 3 blades!

Eco-Armor: Mango Butter Lip Balm in "Soothing Citrus" ($5.75)
Another Eco-Armor product included in this month's box is their Mango Butter lip Balm in "Soothing Citrus." There are few things I love more than a good lip balm in the Summer. For some reason, my lips tend to dry out and get more chapped during warmer months, so I always have an army of lip balms on hand. This one has a very nice scent, and feels super soft and smooth on the lips. It feels super moisturizing, and also has SPF 15, which is a must-have for me in terms of summer lip products. I've been carrying this in my pocket for the past 3-4 days and I have to say it's been doing an amazing job protecting my lips and keeping them hydrated. Even the chapped area I've had for weeks is started to go away. Very happy with this!

Pure Organic: Ancient Grains Bar (Peanut Butter/Chocolate) ($2.19)
I feel like I've tried a couple of Pure bars before in different varieties, but I can't put my finger on which ones for some reason...having said that, I am all about chocolate and peanut butter! I'm always looking for healthy snack bars that I can take with me to work or on the go, because there are way too many times in my day where I forget to eat and my stomach is never happy with me later on! I'd much rather eat one of these bars than stop and get fast food. These bars are certified organic, non GMO, vegan, gluten free and made with an "ancient grain blend." Would I say that this bar is as delicious as a Reese's Peanut Butter cup? Of course not. But I was pleasantly surprised at how much I liked it! It has a light flavor- not overly sweet, but the consistency is quite nice and I honestly think I'd pick up a few more of these if I saw them in the store. I was really happy with how full it made me feel after eating it!
Overall Thoughts
Kloverbox costs $25 per month (or less if you buy a longer subscription) and the June Box has a total retail value of just over $58! Having said that, I do want to point out that the blush alone retails at $30, which is more than half the value of the whole box. No matter how much I like the blush and the organic/natural ingredients, I think that there are many alternatives to it that cost a LOT less, so I don't know if I would re purchase it. Having said that, it was a great addition to a summer box as we all want that fresh glow on our cheeks without that cakey, powdery finish. The razor and shaving cream duo was also a great idea for a warm-weather theme. Of course I can never have enough lip balms, yet I'm also glad that Kloverbox doesn't overdo it with sending them- there are a lot of organic balms out there so it's nice not to get too many of them. I'm also really enjoying the Pure Organic bar, surprisingly! I'm usually really picky with "snack bars" that are healthy, but this one was pretty tasty! Overall, I'm not sure if it reaches my "favorite box" level, but I think it stuck well with the theme and included lots of great products to use in the Summer months ahead. I'm quite pleased with the selection of new brands as well!
If you want to sign up for Kloverbox (and why wouldn't you??) You can do that here!
