Love With Food Deluxe Box July 2015 Review and Unboxing and Coupon!

I've skipped a few Love With Food reviews recently. Not because I didn't have time to write them (although I have been busy!) but because I got so excited about the snacks that my fiance and I ate most of them before I remembered I had to take pictures! The past few months, the deluxe Love With Food box has been seriously awesome. I have tried almost every single snack box there is, including the $10 LWF box, but their Deluxe box beats out every other one in my opinion. It's always packed with snacks- and they're almost always healthy, or healthier choices than things you would find at the grocery store. I love discovering new things and even being brave and trying things that I might not normally go for. Since my fiance and I tend to share the snacks, it's always a fun one to get because we open and enjoy it together!

The Deets
Love with Food is a $10 a month (+$2 shipping) subscription box that features 8+ organic and/or all natural snacks delivered to you monthly. For every box sold, they donate a meal to a food bank in an effort to support the end of child hunger. I think it's an absolutely wonderful cause and makes me feel good about subscribing to them!
Love with Food also offers a Deluxe Box which is the one I will be reviewing this month. The deluxe boxes cost $19.95 per month (free shipping) and features 16-20 snacks. It seems like the deluxe boxes are double the amount you get in the regular box, plus a few extra goodies.
They also have a Gluten Free box available for anyone that might be interested!
.
The theme this month was "Surfin USA"
Break out the shades, because we're beach bound! Whether you're into catching waves or soaking up the rays, you've earned the right to relax. Why? Because you helped fight hunger by purchasing a Love With Food box. So let the ocean nurture your soul. We say bring on the summer sun, offshore winds and a full cooler!
Bear Naked: Coconut Almond Curry Granola
I'm not a massive fan of loose/plain granola to begin with although I will sometimes put it on top of oatmeal or yogurt. This flavor seems...kind of gross. There's no way around that for me. I'm not a fan of Indian food, and "coconut curry" sounds like the least appetizing combination I could possibly think of for a granola flavor. I'm sure there are plenty of people that would like this, but I didn't even bother to try this one because I know what the outcome would be.

One Potato, Two Potato: Hawaiian BBQ Kettle Potato Chips
I know I've had these chips before. I've gotten so many snack boxes that I can't remember off-hand if it was from Love With Food or a different box, but what I do know is that these chips are delish. They're a pretty straight-forward snack: kettle chips with a natural sweet BBQ flavor. They've got a satisfying crunch and the perfect amount of flavor. Super happy that I got two bags!
Bare Snacks: Simply Toasted Coconut Chips
As I mentioned above, I'm not a fan of coconut. I love the scent in skincare, but definitely don't like eating it in any capacity. This snack wasn't of interest to anyone else in my house either, so I passed this one on to my mom. I'm sure these would be delicious for anyone who likes coconut, though!
Biscotti Di Suzy: Lemon Almond Biscotti
Yummm. I love biscotti, and one of my favorite flavors is Lemon Almond. These particular mini biscotti's had the perfect consistency and just enough flavor- not too lemony- which can ruin it for me, sometimes. I like the small size of them too; Perfect for a quick sweet snack!

Fruitival: Banana Chips
I remember when I first saw plantain chips: it was one of those snacks that I had absolutely no interest in trying, but I decided to be brave and give them a shot anyway. These are not quite salty, not quite sweet...somewhere in the middle, I'd say. My fiance said that he normally doesn't like things like these, but he kept snacking on them, so I think they're pretty addicting! While I definitely prefer plantain chips to these, I think these are also really delicious! It's not something I would always be in the mood for, but I like anything that has a crunchy texture for the most part, so these are a win for me!

Sea's Gift: Sweet N' Salty Seaweed
Nope. Nope. NOPE. I do not understand why food subscriptions have such an obsession with seaweed snacks. I am always in awe of people that actually like this stuff. To me, it taste like I'm eating tissue paper that was soaked in sea water and then dried out. Nothing about it is appetizing or appealing  to me, unfortunately. I had to toss this out because I couldn't even find a friend that wanted them! :(
True Citrus: Lemon, Lime, Orange and Grapefruit Drink Mixes
We drink a LOT of water in my house. It's pretty much the only thing other than milk and coffee that we have available. I do however, tend to flavor my water with the Mio drops. These are natural citrus flavoring packets that actually taste quite yummy! They're not going to sweeten water to koolaid level, but they give a little citrusy twist that is really refreshing!

Glee Gum: Gum Pops
Weirdly enough, I'm not really into fruity candy or hard candy. I almost exclusively eat chocolate or more decadent sweets. Lucky for me, my fiance is addicted to these kinds of candies, so he was more than happy to take these pops off my hands! These pops are flavored with pure cane sugar and citrus peels rather than artificial flavoring, and they of course have Glee Gum in the center!

Tasty Brand: Fruit Snacks
As I mentioned above- not really into fruity candies. I handed these over to Jeff as well who thought they were delicious. Organic fruit snacks are probably something that should be available everywhere, though! Kids love them, and they're probably way better for you than all the artificial colored/flavored ones that are in every grocery store!

Sunrype: Fruit Strips
I almost passed this snack on to Jeff as well, but I do like dried fruit and natural fruit rollups from time to time, so I decided to give these a shot. I had something similar from Nature Box at some point and really liked them, and I also really like this! It's basically little strings of natural fruit that are similar to a fruit roll up, but they have no added sugar and are all natural. Pretty tasty!
Here's an interesting addition to the box this month! While Love With Food usually includes a myriad of coupons for the snacks they include in the boxes, they've never included a complimentary product coupon before! This one is for one free Lean Cuisine entree! I think this is awesome since they can't actually put a frozen dinner in the box, this is the next best thing! I haven't tried any lean cuisine meals in a really long time, but that white cheddar mac and cheese on the coupon is lookin pretty dang delicious!
Overall Thoughts
This month was a little bit of a let down for me in terms of snacks that I personally like, however that doesn't detract from my objective opinion of Love With Food as a whole. I mean, take a look at that picture above. These boxes are jam-packed with snacks! I am a little bit picky when it comes to snacks: I like salty chip-like things as well as chocolate galore, so while this box didn't satisfy me completely in terms of preference, it made my fiance pretty dang happy! I also really love the free lean cuisine coupon! So far I have yet to find a snack box that outdoes Love With Food in terms of brand and snack variety as well as sheer amount of snacks you get for the price. I highly recommend them if you're looking into getting a snack box!

  1. I am surprised you didn't get a Munk Pack in your deluxe box. I am on a tasting one right now for a few months before going back to deluxe - but I received a Munk Pack and loved it! That is (and it sounds gross) oatmeal fruit squeeze pack - haha

the true citrus packages were my 2nd favorite -as I need all the help I can get to drink more h20 - I actually found them at my local grocery store and purchased a couple of boxes.
