Kloverbox August 2015 Review and Unboxing (Plus Coupon Code!)

Ive mentioned a few times now that I'm starting to consider cutting back on my subscriptions and subscription reviews. I want to say right up front that Kloverbox is one of the subscriptions I intend on continuing to review because I consistently receive new and interesting products and thoughtful curation from them, which is what I'm looking for in subscriptions lately. As someone who has been obsessed with subscriptions for a long time, I sometimes feel like I've "seen it all" and I really need something impressive to get me excited. There are certain boxes that impress me time and time again as well as those that I feel are the "best in their genre." When it comes to natural/green-type boxes, Kloverbox is by far the best in my opinion. I have a big thing for customer service and customer interaction, and I think that Kloverbox consistently includes the customers and makes them feel like part of a family. On top of that, they're always trying to improve, they listen to customer feedback, and always make sure to send products that we don't already have dozens of from other subscription boxes.
What is Kloverbox?
Kloverbox is a lifestyle subscription box that sends 4 or more natural and organic products for you to fall in love with each month. This isn't a beauty subscription. Kloverbox sends products from all categories: beauty, health, food and home products, so you can incorporate more natural products into every aspect of your life!

How Does It Work?
On the Kloverbox site, you can choose a 1, 3 or 6 month subscription. The one month and 3 month subscriptions automatically renew, which means you will be billed again once that cycle is over (monthly, or every 3 months.) The 6 month subscription is a one-time purchase; Meaning you will not be billed again once the 6 month subscription is over. This is a great option to gift to friends and family because you won't have to remember to cancel the subscription. The longer the subscription you choose, the more of a discount you get, which is also awesome!
Another really great thing about Kloverbox is that they usually include a coupon code on the information card for each product for that month. So if you really fall in love with something from your box, you'll be able to get more at a fantastic discount.

How Much?
A month-to-month subscription to Kloverbox is $25 per box.
3 month subscription is $71.25 ($23.75 per box)
6 month subscription is $135 ($22.50) per box.
Shipping is free and fast!
You can save even more money by using the code "HB10" at checkout to save 10% off! This code can be used on any subscription.
This month's theme was "Detox and Diminish" and contained 6 products.

MyChelle Dermaceuticals: Wrinkle Spot Treatment ($38.50)
While this is a full size product, and retails at a whopping $38.50, it's still on the small-side in stature. It's actually a spot treatment, so you only need a tiny amount to accomplish what it sets out to do, and that is smoothing out fine lines and wrinkles while also firming the skin. This potent treatment combines age-defying peptides, leuphasyl, inyline and argireline. Apparently this group of ingredients has been proven to reduce wrinkles and plump up troublesome areas through independent studies.
When I first took this product out of the box, I thought it was a small tube, but it's actually a rollerball-type product! Now I turned 30 back in March, and while I don't have any deep-set wrinkles yet, I do have some fine lines around my eye area as well as one across the bridge of my nose from years of squinting/not wearing glasses when I should have been. I am really interested to see how this product works on those pesky lines!

Angel Face Botanicals: Super Detox Facial Cleanser ($13)
If you're not familiar with this brand yet, you really should be. While I tend to stick to an almost-exclusively Korean skincare routine, I have made exceptions for a few products that have really rocked my world. Months ago in a past Kloverbox, we received a gentle foaming cleanser from Angel Face Botanicals, and not only did it have a great pH, but it was very effective and gentle on my skin, which is pretty rare for me to find. I love that we have a new cleanser to try from this brand- and I highly recommend checking out their products!
This particular cleanser is "super-detoxifying" as it includes activated charcoal and argan oil, along with botanicals,  essential oils and vitamins that help deeply clean the pores to get rid of toxins and bacteria leaving behind radiant and healthy skin. Charcoal in skincare is used to help suck out oil and dirty beneath the skins service, and it really does work wonders! This cleanser is actually a greyish-black color, so I had an impossible time reading a pH testing strip to figure out if I could use this or not. If any other subscriber was able to figure it out, let me know! I think I'm going to contact the company and see if they can help me out with more info, because I would really love to try this out!

Jacq's Organics: Fancy Detox Cleansing Bar ($6)
Sticking with the "detox" theme, the next product included was this detox cleansing bar. The scent is a mix of clove, orange, patchouli and vanilla- which is amazing btw!- and contains haitian castor oil, activated bamboo charcoal and coconut oil. These key ingredients help unclog pores and remove impurities and dead skin cells.
I feel like this soap is SO pretty- it kind of looks like a piece of marble, doesn't it? Reading the info card, it seems that there are bits of olive oil and rose clay confetti soap speckled throughout, which just makes it look even more lovely! Unfortunately, bar soaps tend to dry out my skin a bit too much, regardless of brand or type, so I most likely won't be using this product. Having said that, my fiance almost exclusively uses bar soaps, and before I even had a chance to take a sniff of this he had already nabbed it and put it in his soap dish!

Bedrock and Bloom- Smart Ash ($3)
So I'm all about whiter teeth. I have purchased all kinds of teeth whitening products from toothpaste and mouthwash, to strips, to gels that you paint on and use a UV light with. I drink a scary amount of coffee and that can do some damage regarding the appearance of my teeth. I have found things that work pretty well, but I'm thrilled to see a natural, vegan, non-GMO, cruelty free product on the market now! Kloverbox mentioned this has been featured in other subscriptions, although this is the first time I'm seeing it, personally!  Essentially, the all natural ingredients of coconut shell charcaol, calcium bentonite clay, organic orange peel extract and organic mint extract to gently and naturally remove stains from your teeth.
Smart Ash uses a non-abrasive formula to lift stains and toxins from the teeth, leaving behind a whiter, healthier smile. It can be used every day, and it is safe for sensitive teeth. Interestingly enough, it actually reverses sensitivity by remineralizing and restoring enamel! It fights cavities, plaque, bacteria and gingivitis while also preventing tooth decay. Many reviews I've read also say it polishes the teeth for an almost "after the dentist" feel!
It is a black-colored powder, and the company does suggest not using this when you're wearing clothes you don't want to get ruined, or to use the product while in the shower if you're worried about a mess. To use, you simply dampen your toothbrush and dip the bristles into the powder. Then gently brush your teeth for 2 minutes. Brush again with water to remove the residue and spit. That's it!
I haven't tried this out yet but I'm genuinely interested considering the great reviews I've read and the other benefits it gives to your teeth- which other whiteners definitely can't claim. Even

Bonus: Traditional Medicinals: Organic Herbal Tea Supplements
These teas are a little added bonus to the box this month! Since the box has a Detox theme, it makes sense to include a tea called "EveyDay Detox" right? ;) While I do enjoy tea quite a bit, I will almost always choose a cup of coffee over everything, so I'll be passing these on to my sister and my coworker who are tea fanatics! Although I might just give the Detox tea a try because it sounds so interesting!
Overall Thoughts
Kloverbox costs $25 a month (or less with a longer subscription), and the August box had a total value of just over $60- not including the tea samples. While I did notice that this box was a bit "lighter" in terms of product size, I think that each item here was curated to the theme perfectly, and they're all unique and interesting! While I can't use the soap myself, my fiance already love it, and I am truly excited to try everything else included this month, which is all I can ask from a subscription. Give me something that won't sit in a drawer for a year until it expires- I want something that I need to put in my shower or bathroom and use as soon as possible. I cannot wait to try the Smart Ash, and the anti-wrinkle serum, and I hope that I love the Angel Face Botanicals cleanser as much as I did the first one! Overall, I think that this was a great theme, and some really nice products were included. I do still think that Kloverbox needs to try and reach out to more non-beauty-focused companies, because I miss receiving things like candles, laundry soaps etc. My favorite items in Kloverbox have always been the "home and lifestyle" products, so I really hope they push for more of those types of items in the future!

If you want to sign up for Kloverbox (and why wouldn't you??) You can do that here!
Don't forget to use HB10 at checkout to save 10% off any length subscription!
