PopSugar Must Have: September 2015 Review and Unboxing

Most of my regular readers know by now that I am obsessed with PopSugar Must Have. There are a lot of great subscriptions out there and I've tried most of them by now, but the only one I can't see myself canceling any time soon is PopSugar. I avoided subscribing for awhile because I was so used to the smaller, less expensive subscriptions that I thought $40 was a little bit too much for me. However, I started realizing that I was overloaded with beauty samples and really wanted to try something new. I haven't gone back since!
I also wanted to mention: If you've been thinking about subscribing to PopSugar, keep a very close eye on them during Black Friday sales- they always do insane subscription deals that I cave on every year because they'll save you a LOT!
 The Deets
PopSugar Must Have Box is a subscription that sends you full size "must have" items from all areas of interest: fitness, beauty, skincare, home decor, books- you name it! You never know what is going to show up in these boxes, and that's why they're always so much fun to recieve!
PopSugar costs $39.99 per month, however you can save more by buying a longer subscription, or if you gift yourself a box each month, you can use the frequent coupon codes they have available. You can use the code (REFER5) to save $5 off your first box, currently!
$10 Off Coupons!
Every box this month came with two unique $10 off coupon codes for subscribers to share with friends and family. Most people I know either aren't interested in a subscription box, or they already subscribe to PopSugar, so I thought I would post them here! These can only be used once, so it's a first come first serve situation here.

Use either of these codes at checkout to save $10 off your first month of PopSugar Must Have Box:
B213YMZ
ABX17YZ

Use these ASAP if you're thinking of subscribing, because if someone else gets to them first, they will no longer be valid!

Each month, Lisa Sugar (PopSugar's Founder) will put all of the things that inspired the box on the info card.
This month was inspired by:
Travel, Refresh, Fashion Fix, Beauty Recovery, To-Go Snacks, XOXO

Too Faced: Brow Envy Shaping & Defining Kit ($39)
PopSugar started this box off with a bang! Not only am I huge fan of Too Faced, I am an even bigger fan of well groomed brows! This kit includes the tools you'll need to create a perfect brow! Tweezers, a spoolie brush and an angled brush are included, as well as 4 different brow shades to mix and customize to get your perfect shade. This kit also has 3 different brow stencils if you're into those! I find them to look really unnatural when you try to "stencil" a shape on your brow area. Personally I think you should follow the path of your natural brow shape and enhance it slightly. Regardless, I love this kit soooo much and it's even better for travel!

NCLA: So Rich Vitmain E Cuticle Oil ($18)
We've received a few NCLA products in PopSugar boxes over the years, and I've always enjoyed them. This cuticle oil softens and conditioners the skin and nail and has a really lovely scent. The only downfall of getting cuticle oil is that they take FOREVER to use up. Seriously- I have a BUTTER london cuticle oil that I got a year ago and use pretty regularly and it's not even close to being halfway gone! I'm not sure when I'll ever get around to using the NCLA one, but it's a nice product regardless!

Kris Nations: XO Stud Earrings ($35)
These little studs are handmade in California: cut from recycled brass and plated with 14k gold. I absolutely love understated gold jewelry, and I love the cute vial packaging of these earrings even more! The only downfall of putting earrings in a box like this is that not everyone has pierced ears! Luckily, I do have my ears pierced. Unluckily, I made the mistake of stretching my ears when I was a rebellious teenager, and they haven't shrunk back to normal size. I can only wear fish hook earrings now. These studs would fall right out of my ears, so I'm going to have to put them aside and gift them to someone. They are so beautiful that I don't think I'll have a problem finding a friend who wants them!

Briogeo Rosarco: Milk Reparative Leave-In Conditioning Spray ($20)
Let me just quickly talk about how absolutely fantastic this brand is. Briogeo left a lasting impression on me years ago when one of their hair masks first made an appearance in an Ipsy bag. There were quite a few subscribers who were bummed out that they weren't getting it in their Ipsy bags, and Briogeo not only personally responded to everyone's comments on the Ipsy website, but they gave out bundles of coupon codes to grab a sample size hair mask on their site free of charge to anyone who didn't get one in their Ipsy bag. Now THAT is customer service!
Aside from being a genuinely fantastic company, I have tried their volumizing conditioner and it is genuinely one of the best I've ever used. Their products are admittedly not cheap, but no other conditioner has given me immediate, natural volume the way the Briogeo one did! If only I could afford to use it regularly!
This particular product is their leave-in conditioner. I live for spray on leave-in conditioners, so this product is right up my alley! This is an antioxidant-rich milky blend that contains argan, rose hip and coconut oils that act as a barrier to product hair and make it smooth and healthy. So excited to give this one a shot!

Hudson+Bleecker: Labrynth Onyx Travel Trio ($42)
While I feel like I'm a bit overloaded with travel and makeup bags, I think these are super useful! This set includes a TSA-Friendly clear pouch that can hold all your toiletries, and 2 drawstring bags. One is made to hold intimates and the other to hold shoes/etc so they stay separate from the rest of your clothing and luggage.
I think these drawstring bags are a nice size and are very well made. I don't do a whole lot of traveling since I'm...well, poor. But it's still nice to have these on hand for the rare occasions that I do go away. Even using these for an overnight trip or sleepover would be beneficial! I love getting things like this in PopSugar boxes because they're not something I would usually spend money on myself, but there's always those occasions when you need something like this and it sucks to not have them on hand!

Nourish Snacks: Almond to Cherries ($2)
PopSugar usually includes a snack or a treat is most of their boxes, and this time it's from Nourish snacks. This bag is packed with 6 grams of protein and 3 grams of fiber. It's pretty simplistic: you've got dried cherries and almonds. Nothing more. I'm not a huge fan of raw almonds, nor am I a big fan of dried cherries on their own, so I'll probably pass this to someone at work since I'm always bringing in snacks from all my subscriptions boxes and there's always someone who likes the things I don't!
Overall Thoughts
PopSugar Must Have Box costs $40 a month, and the September box has a total retail value of $156. As always, PS has an absolutely outstanding value! Honestly I have yet to find a subscription in this price range that has such a great value month after month! While there were a few things in this month's box that I could have done without, it's not because they aren't lovely items! I just have some weird situations like giant ear holes and a strange ability to make cuticle oil last for years. I did find that this month was a bit beauty-heavy for me, though. I would have liked to have seen the cuticle oil be something else, like a small travel candle for example. But overall, I was very pleased with the products I received, and anything I can't use will easily be gifted away!
Since next month is October, I am expecting a really great box. At least I hope it will be! I want fuzzy socks. I want hot chocolate. I want a pumpkin-scented candle. Don't let me down, PopSugar!
