The 3b Box: Beauty Beyond Borders September 2015 Review and Unboxing

Bless the awesome people over at 3b for sending out their bags a bit earlier lately! Seriously, it really stinks getting all my subscription boxes right at the very end of the month. I love having them spread out a bit more, not only so I'm always getting fun things in the mail, but also it's tough as a blogger to rush to get my reviews all done in one week! I don't like rushing through blog posts if I don't have to, so I appreciate when I company sends their boxes earlier!  I was pretty excited to get this month's 3b box, because I saw a couple of spoilers and noticed that there was some full size/substantially sized products included this month!

3b is the perfect subscription for literally anyone that is into kbeauty. If you're a newbie, it will help familiarize you with brands and products without overwhelming you or your wallet. If you've got storage bins full of korean skincare, you can still benefit from a subscription like 3B because it allows you to try products without having to buy them at full price. Sometimes I've made large purchases from Korean beauty sites and received an item after a month of waiting for it to show up, only to realize I don't like it that much. Having kbeauty-focused subscriptions allows me to try things I haven't gotten around to using yet- plus it keeps my stash stocked up!

What is 3B?
3b (stands for Beauty Beyond Borders) is a subscription service that I have coined the KBeauty Birchbox. While you receive mostly Korean products, they have also included Japanese brands in the past as well. Normally the boxes contain deluxe samples, however they have been known to also include full sizes!

The Cost
Only $12 a month! (that includes shipping!)
(3b currently only ships to the US)

What's In the Box?
Each box contains a collection of  4-5 deluxe samples that are new or popular in Asia but hard to get your hands on. The products will change each month, and you’ll get to try new skincare, haircare, nail care, and cosmetic products. Sample products range from go-to brands such as Lioele, Etude House and Skinfood to high-end premium brands like SK-II, K, and Sulwhasoo.

Where Do I Sign Up?
You can learn more about 3B, and sign up for their monthly subscription HERE. 3B is quite popular so there is occasionally a waitlist to subscribe, so if you're interested- the sooner you sign up the better!
While this is called the 3B box, and it does arrive in one, your products are housed each month in a cute organza bag. I really prefer these bags to getting full-on makeup bags (like ipsy for example) because these are easily stored away to be used again, are lighter to ship and take up less space. I can only use so many makeup bags, so I'm never a fan of receiving them each month through various subscriptions.

Leaders: Aqua Therapy Hand Cream
For some reason, 3b didn't include an info card with my bag this month, so I'm kind of winging it here in terms of product descriptions! I'm guessing this is a full size product since it's about the size of most of my hand creams. Leaders is gaining popularity in the kbeauty community, which I'm thinking started with their popular sheet masks. I like their line, so I was happy to see them included this month! I'm sure people are getting tired of seeing hand creams in subscription boxes (especially the kbeauty ones) but I can never seem to have enough! Especially with the colder months coming, I will most likely have a hand cream in every single area of my house, car, work etc! This cream uses olive oil and NMF to moisturize and revitalize dry hands. I haven't busted this one open yet, but I've read on a few blogs that it has a rose scent...which could potentially break my excitement to try (not a fan of rose at ALL) but hopefully it's more floral than rose and I'll be able to handle it!

Secret Key: Honey Bees' AC Control Spot Remover
This also looks to be a full size product, and it is a bee venom and propolis spot treatment cream that is used to help control oil and protect broken or damaged skin to help it heal more quickly after a breakout. The ingredients and description of this product remind me of the Mizon Mark X Blemish Treatment, which I'm actually a fan of. Secret Key is known for making less expensive "dupes" of other brands popular products, and to me at least, they're always just as nice- or better! I really like using propolis spot treatments as they're quite effective for me, so I'm really happy to have this one!

RiRe: Luxe Eye Lash Essence & Base
This lash essence was actually supposed to come in last months box, however 3b accidentally sent out the regular mascara instead. It wasn't a huge deal, but they sent out a message to their subscriber anyway and apologize while promising it would show up in a future box- and here it is! I love the idea of a lash "essence" because it makes me feel like I'm putting a skincare product on my lashes or something! This essence is used to lengthen and stregthen lashes when applied regularly, and it is also a base for mascara. I'm assuming you would essentially apply this before applying you mascara everyday to treat and protect the lashes. I'm really interested in this product since I don't have anything like it, so it's going right into my makeup bag to use the next time I get ready!

YuBe: Moisturizing Skin Cream
I saw that 3b had spoiled this sample on their instagram, and I couldn't help but be disappointed. Honestly, I feel like this cream has been in every single subscription box I've ever gotten. Okay, I might be exaggerating a little bit, but honestly it's been in dozens of boxes over the past couple of years. It's too bad that the company seems to just be overkilling it in sub boxes, because I hear this is a pretty good moisturizer- especially for seriously troubled skin. I've read lots of great reviews from people with eczema as well as rosacea etc. I'll be passing this to a friend who was actually asking about it not that long ago, so it won't go to waste.
Overall Thoughts
While I don't have an info card to confirm, I'm pretty sure that this month's 3b box has 3 full size products, and that is pretty dang impressive for a subscription that only costs $12 a month! I definitely feel like I got my money's worth! I liked the variety of items this month quite a bit, and I feel that I will be using everything with the exception of the Yu Be cream. I'm pleased with this month's box, and even though I feel like I'm still overloaded with kbeauty stuff right now, I love getting this bag! Not only is it affordable, but it's a great value and just really fun to get every month!

There is currently a wait list to subscribe to 3B, so if you're interested I would sign up as soon as possible. You can get on the wait list here. Right now they're only shipping to the US, but they have been openly asking their customers where we would like them to ship to next. So if you live outside the US, make sure you get in touch with them and tell them you want them to ship to your country!
