Walmart Beauty Box Fall 2015 Review and Unboxing

The Walmart Beauty Box is one of those subscriptions that I admittedly keep getting because it's cheap. It comes 4 times a year, they're only $5 each, and well...I like getting packages in the mail. Who doesn't, right?
It's had it's ups and downs in terms of quality, but I do think it has always been worth the $5 I paid for it. The Summer box was kind of a "meh" one for me, so I was hopeful that the Fall one would step up it's game a little bit, especially with the competition of the Target Beauty Boxes lately. I have to say this one definitely made me a lot happier than some of the previous boxes I've gotten!
The Walmart Beauty Box is actually "free", except they charge $5 for shipping. So really, I like to look at it as $5 per box since most subscriptions don't charge for shipping. Rather than releasing boxes every month, the Walmart Beauty Box is released once per season, or 4 times a year. Everything included in the box will obviously be available for purchase at Walmart, so I wouldn't expect any high end brands in here.
The Walmart Beauty Boxes tend to have a slight variety regarding their contents. I believe I've only seen 2 variations for the Fall box. No one knows for sure which boxes go to which people, however it's speculated that the boxes are sent out based on how old the subscriber is: a "younger" box and an "older" one.
Simple Skincare Cleansing Facial Wipes
You know I love my cleansing wipes, and Simple is one of the few Western drugstore brands that I will use without fear of ruining my skin. They're not the best, but their ingredients aren't scary, and their wipes are gentle enough to use on my skin without stripping or irritating it. I've used these before, and they're decent- nothing to write home about, but I'll definitely keep these to use in the morning.
Aveeno Positively Radiant Daily Moisturizer
I might be one of the select few people that never saw the big deal with Aveeno products, but they always seem to get such praise. Personally I don't think their ingredients are that impressive, and sometimes they even have some pretty harsh stuff in there for a brand that is supposed to be geared toward sensitive skin. Having said that, since this is really a drugstore beauty box, I think this is a pretty good size sample from a popular brand. I most likely won't be using this considering my embarrassing hoard of creams from Korean brands, but I will pass this on to my mom who I know will happily use it.
Aussie: Mega Hairspray
One of the few things I use from the drugstore religiously is my hairspray. I've been buying the Tresemme Hairspray since junior high school, and I have yet to find one I like better. However, I love travel-sized hairsprays because I can keep them in my purse and tame fly-aways, or touch up my bangs if they're falling out of place. I've tried this hairspray before and it's decent, so I'll probably hold onto this!
Schick: Hydro Silk Razor
Best razor in the game! The Schick Hydro Silk is my all-time favorite razor, and I will pay the exorbitant prices (seriously, women's razors are insanely expensive!) because it's that good. It has a water-activated moisturizing serum that is released on the top and bottom of the blades, and it's incredibly slippery so it keeps the razor from tugging on your skin. The blades stay sharper for longer than any other I've tried, and I very rarely cut myself while using this. I stock up on these when I find BOGO coupons, but having an extra is just an added bonus!
Dove Advanced Care Beauty Finish Antiperspirant Deodorant
While I use Secret Clinical Deodorant in the Summer, I tend to switch to a more gentle deodorant in the Winter. Dove makes some really great deodorants in that they do their job well, have a nice variety of scents, and keep my underarms looking good! I don't think I've tried this one before either, so I'm happy to see this! I like that it's travel sized as well, because deodorant is yet another thing I like to have on hand in my purse- I can't tell you how many times I've been rushing around in the morning and forget to put on deodorant!
ACT Advanced Care Plaque Guard Mouthwash
Not a whole lot to say about this, really. It's a mouthwash. As I've sad repeatedly, travel sizes are always welcome! I can toss this one into my "travel" drawer for future overnight trips or sleepovers at my sisters house!
Neutrogena Healthy Volume Mascara
I was a little bit bummed out that there was only one makeup product included this month, but I'm happy it's a drugstore mascara! I'm one of those people who firmly believes that drugstore mascaras perform as well as (or better than!) many high end ones. I don't think this is a new mascara, but I haven't tried it yet to my knowledge, so I'm interested to see how it works. It's been a really long time since I've used any Neutrogena makeup!
Also included this month was a pile-o-foil samples! First we have the Biore Self-Heating One Minute Mask. I have seen this around but again, it's one of those things I've never grabbed since I already have so many masks. I love heating face washes and masks because they feel so soothing, and this is a great one to have for those cold nights! There's also a 2-step toothpaste from Crest 3D White.  I personally think that a 2 step process to brush my teeth is probably a little to excessive for my life, but hey- I'll give it a shot! It seems that the first step is a deep cleansing toothpaste, and the second is a "whitening finisher." It stinks a bit like a marketing gimmick, but hey- I'll give it a whirl!
One of my favorite inventions of the past few years is the "in shower moisturizer." Included in the box this month was two types of the Jergens Wet Skin Moisturizer. These are so fantastic because you can smooth them on right in the shower and the quickly rinse your body and that's it! You don't have to go through the whole process of lotioning your whole body when you get out of the shower, which I love! Finally, a sample of a lotion from Nivea. Fine and dandy, just nothing to shout about.
Overall Thoughts
The Fall Walmart Beauty Box contained 11 products from 11 different brands. 7 were deluxe samples, and 4 were foil packet samples. For $5 shipped, I think that's a fantastic deal. This is half the price of a Birchbox, yet gives almost double the amount of samples you'd get through them. Of course, these are drugstore brands, but as I always say, I don't get to the drugstore beauty section nearly as often as I'd like. These boxes help me try things without having to spend the money, and there have been a few occasions where I've found a new favorite product through these boxes. Perfect example is the Dove Pistchio and Magnolia body wash. That stuff is holy grail level and I never would have discovered it without the Walmart Beauty Box! I think this might be my favorite of all the boxes I've received from them so far! A wide variety with a huge amount of samples. What more could you ask for?

The next box coming out will be the Winter edition, and will be shipping sometime in December.
