New Beauty TestTube November/December Review and Unboxing (Plus 30% off Deal!)

I've been getting New Beauty TestTube again now for a few months, and I have to say that I really think they're on an upswing. While they used to be at the top of their game years ago, they seemed like they hit a snag during 2014 and it's taken awhile for them to find their footing again. So far since I've been getting the tubes again, I haven't been disappointed. This month I was especially happy with the products included!

New Beauty TestTube is considered the "first beauty subscription service" in the beauty box world. It all began when readers of New Beauty magazine began asking where they could try/buy products that were featured in the magazine- and the test tube was born through the idea that readers could try the editors favorite products for themselves rather than just reading about them. It was a great idea of course, considering a massive, seemingly endless market of beauty subscriptions has risen out of it!
Details
New Beauty TestTube costs $29.95 plus $8.95 S+H for a total of $38.95 per tube. The reason why this review is labeled "March/April" is because New Beauty TestTube comes out once every other month, so you would be receiving 6 tubes per year rather than 12 in a monthly subscription. Each box includes the Test Tube, which is filled with beauty samples and full-size products as well as a detailed informational booklet on the products. You also automatically receive a subscription to New Beauty magazine when you subscribe to the Test Tube. The magazine is delivered separately from the Test Tubes, 4 times a year.

*Save 30% off Every Tube As Long As Your Subscribed!*
This is a totally new thing here- Apparently when you use my referral link, from what I understand in the fine print, you will not only save 30% off your first tube, but EVERY tube that you receive during your subscription! This is an awesome deal!
Sign up with this link to save 30% off for every tube you receive!
Of course for some people that is a good chunk of cash for a box of beauty samples. The good news is it only comes every other month, so it's a price equivalent of having a $15 per month subscription (after the 30% off discount). On top of that, they usually include higher-end items and full size products that other subscriptions do not.
I think the test tube is perfect for beauty junkies, but especially for women who don't have time to shop for beauty product or read pages and pages of reviews on a product. Getting the tube sent right to their door removes the hassle when shopping/discovering new beauty products!
I will say that while New Beauty does provide makeup in their tubes (many times it's full size!) they are usually a skincare-heavy subscription. If you're looking for solely cosmetics, this might not be a good choice for you.
A great thing about New Beauty TestTube is that they provide a large booklet filled with tons of details about each product included that month. Not only do you get information about the brand, but you can get detailed info on the product as well as tips and tricks to using it properly! It's a really helpful little handbook that I wish more subscriptions took the time to do!

Now let's get on with this month's tube!
Pure Gold Collagen: Liquid Beauty Supplement ($5)
When I first heard about drinkable skincare products, I was totally on board. Anything new and interesting that involves skincare is something I want to try. However after doing research and concluding that consuming collagen doesn't do anything and has no proven benefits. Of course that burst my bubble pretty damn quick. Having said that, I recently tried the NeoCell Beauty Bursts which contain collagen, Hyaluronic Acid and Vitamin C, and my skin has truly never looked more amazing. I'm not sure if the collagen has anything to do with that, but I'm now a believer, no matter what the "studies" say. Since I had such great luck with the supplements, I have been wanting to try one of these drinks!
This one contains hyaluronic acid, hydrolyzed collagen, zinc, vitamin C and other vitamins and minerals that work from the inside out to hydrate and regenerate skin cells. I am super excited to give this a try, although I really can't imagine a single bottle of this is going to produce magical results. I know they couldn't include an entire case of this stuff, but it really would have been useful to see more long term results!

Hada Labo Tokyo: Ultimate Anti-Aging Facial Mask ($3.75)
Hada Labo is a pretty popular and well-recognized brand here in the states now, although I haven't tried a whole lot from the brand personally. This is a sheet mask that drenches your skin in a full bottles worth of anti aging serum. You apply it like a regular sheet mask for about 15 minutes. This mask boosts hydration, smooths fine lines and restores firmness and bounciness. The claims are enough to peak my interest, because rarely have I had a sheet mask work wonders with just one use. I guess we'll see!
Glo Pop: Teeth Whitening Treatment ($26.70)
While I love getting skincare and cosmetics in my beauty subscriptions, they're a dime a dozen at this point. What I really love is getting things like the Collagen drink and this teeth whitening treatment! This treatmet is clinically proven to whiten teeth up to 5 shades with no sensitivity. It's kind of an interesting system too- you simply twist the top off of one of these little pods to reveal a floss-like bristle brush that applies the gel evenly and precisely. It also foams on contact to penetrates teeth and freshens breath. Even more awesome- there's no need to rinse so you can really use these anytime, anywhere! Each pod has 3 applications, and this trial size has 3 pods, for a total of 9 applications.

Neocell: Biotin Bursts ($10.63)
So earlier in this post I was raving about my Neocell Beauty Bursts, but another product I use religiously is their Biotin Bursts. I was kind of geeking out when I saw them included in this months TestTube, because more people will get to experience how awesome these are! Not only do they taste ridiculously good, but no other biotin supplement has worked as well for me! These contain brazilian acai berry to not only make the chew taste amazing, but for antioxidant protection against free radicals. Biotin is a magically supplement that supports the growth of healthy hair and nails and healthy skin regeneration. I love these. I've purchased them dozens of times since I discovered them, and tell everyone I know how badly they need them in their life!
Key West Aloe: Mango Bath and Shower Gel ($2)
I've familiarized myself with the Key West Aloe line through subscription boxes, and I have to say that I really love their products. At first their packaging reminded me of something you would find in a hotel bathroom, but I was pleasantly surprised at how high quality their products are! I especially love the Aloe cleanser. It's gentle, has a low pH and works beautifully. This body wash has 30% aloe vera and has maximum potency of polysaccharides, amino acids, and minerals. The mango scent is light and refreshing, and I've already got this in my shower so I can fall in love with it as much as their cleanser!

Color Secrets Nail Lacquer ($5.99)
So the info card shows not only a nail polish by Color Secrets, but a lip gloss as well. At first I was confused and thought it was supposed to include both, but apparently subscribers either get one or the other. Call me selfish, but for a company that has drugstore prices for their products, you'd think they'd include both? Oh well. Regardless, I got the nail polish. I would have preferred the lip gloss, or at least a different shade than disco ball silver! These polishes are awesome though, because they're 100% vegan, 5-Free and harm free. Those things alone make me interested in looking into the brand a bit more, but I'll be passing this polish along to someone who is into glitter way more than I am!
BioSilk: Color Therapy Lock and Protect ($12.50)
This is a great leave in treatment that protects color and prolongs the radiance and intensity of colored hair while enhancing luster and shine. It's enriched with maracuja oil and is rich in vitamin A and C, antioxidants and essential fatty acids that hydrate and replenish damaged hair. It's lightweight and is easily absorbed to rapidly repair and rebuild the hair follicle. This treatment also contains silk proteins that seal the hair's cuticle to keep frizz and flyaways at bay. This stuff really sounds almost too good to be true, so I'm interested in seeing how well it works on my thin, fine hair.

Phyto: Phytomist Instant Hydrating Conditioner ($10)
New Beauty TestTube tends to include a small bonus item that isn't included in the info booklet, and I got this bottle of Phytomist. I wasn't entirely sure what it was at first, but apparently it's an instant conditioner formulated for dehydrated hair. It contains lotus flowers, which help maintain moisture levels while keratin coats damaged hair and helps with detangling. Sunflower and red algae are included to prevent oxidation caused by environmental factors while enhancing the hair's resistance. I suppose it's just a fancy way of saying "leave-in conditioner." Regardless, I'm seeing a lot of great reviews so I'm happy to have this as a bonus!
Overall Thoughts
New Beauty TestTube costs $29.99 per month and has a shipping charge of $8.95, making it about $39 per tube. (Much less if you use my 30% off coupon!) The total value of the September/October TestTube is just over $80. I'm actually incredibly happy with this tube! The only thing I wont' be using is the nail polish, which I definitely would have kept and been happy with if it was a better shade. Aside from that, each item is actually really interesting, or something I don't already have hundreds of in my stash. I love the addition of the biotin supplements, the collagen drink and the teeth whitening gel. I really do love getting those kinds of things because they don't come very often in subscriptions. I've already used half the teeth whitening gel and this morning my fiance said, "I can't stop looking at how white your teeth are right now!" He didn't even know I was using a whitening product! That made me super happy because I wasn't sure if the results were noticeable or not! All stories aside, I'm really, really pleased with this month's tube, and I hope they continue to be this good with a solid curation. If they do, I'll happily start recommending them again as often as I used to. If you are interested in New Beauty TestTube, I would highly suggest using my referral link, as it will give you 30% off ALL your tubes for the entire time your subscribed, not just your first one. It's a really great offer and I personally think with that kind of a coupon, NBTT is definitely worth it!

If you're interested in trying your luck with New Beauty TestTube, you can do so here, and save 30% off your Tubes EVERY Month your subscribed!
