Wantable Intimates November 2015 Review and Unboxing

It's been awhile since I purchased a Wantable Intimates box. I actually enjoyed the idea of them overall, and while I was able to send anything back that I didn't like and get my money back, I found that I was sending back way more than I was keeping. However I recently found out that Wantable was raising the price of the Intimates boxes from $40 to $50 unless you subscribed before November. So of course, I got sucked in and resubscribed to lock in the lower price! The good news is I can skip months and/or send back whatever I want so there's no waste of money, but I was a little concerned about the price hike, especially since they also said they'd now be sending 3 items instead of 4. Regardless of all the changes, I was definitely curious enough about the "new" Intimates boxes that I ripped this one open the moment my mailman dropped it off!

The Details
(feel free to skip this section if you're already familiar with Wantable!)
Wantable offers a variety of different subscriptions that vary in price, however Wantable Intimates is $50 per month and includes 3 curated pieces. There is a way to make the price lower, which I will explain later.
The boxes that Wantable currently offers are Accessories, Makeup, Intimates and Fitness. You are able to subscribe to one or all the boxes on one account if you so choose! They also have a clothing box as well that is a little different in terms of subscritpion- but you can read more about that service on their website if you're interested!
Wantable is much different from other subscriptions in that it's completely customizable and risk-free. You take a profile quiz to tell the stylists exactly what you want or don't want based on a "Love, Like, Don't Want" scale. They will never send you something you have marked as "don't want." If you hate necklaces, you'll never get them. If you are tired of getting red lipsticks in subscription boxes, you can simply tell wantable you never want them. Problem solved! You can take the profile quiz as many times as you want- so if one month you want to get socks and bras, but don't want any the following month, simply change your preferences! It really is that simple!

Returns
Here's what makes this a really interesting experience: You can return your entire box if you're not happy with it. Even better? You can return or keep as many or as few items as you want! Not only do you get to tell them exactly what you like and don't like, but you can return anything you're not really into- or even return the whole box for a full refund!
You can start the return process on their website and be done in just minutes. You're able to see how much credit you will receive for the item you're returning, and then you can print out a return label free of charge. Then simply stick the item(s) in the box everything came in, tape the label to the box and leave it outside for the mailman!

$4 Credit for Keeping Everything
If you decide to keep everything in your box, Wantable will reward you with a $4 credit, which you can put toward your next box, making it only $36. This way, you're rewarded for keeping your products, however you also get credits or a refund for anything you return. You really can't go wrong!

Canceling/Skipping
There is nothing I hate more than a subscription box that doesn't have a way to cancel easily and quickly! As if Wantable couldn't get any better...they allow you to cancel your subscription with one click on their website. If you don't want to cancel, but would rather skip a month or two, they also have a "skip" button available. Awesome!
These were my survey answers for the Wantable Intimates box. As you can see, I'm pretty much down for anything except knee-high socks. Although I'm really hoping to get some nice bras!

So the first item out of the box this month was the Flocked Lace Heart Thong by Daisy Fuentes. I like thongs just fine, and this one is okay. I seems like something you'd buy on Valentines Day rather than as a daily pair of underwear, though. What is even weirder, is that the tag on these says "2 Pack" and $18. However the value for these is listed at $12. Either say the value is $9, or give me the 2 pairs instead of one, am I right? I just thought that was kind of weird. I'll hold onto these because I'm weird and can never have enough undies!
VERDICT: KEEP
The next item was the Lucky Brand Jacquard Texture Over the Knee Socks. Not only do I love the fun pattern of these, they look and feel nice and cozy so they'd be perfect for wearing with a fall dress or around the house! Since I am plus size, I was a little concerned about these fitting my thighs, but they're actually pretty stretchy/roomy and fit me perfectly!
VERDICT: KEEP
Finally the large item in the box this month: the Long Sleeve Sweatshirt Dress. To say I'm obsessed with this would be an understatement. It's made out of super soft fabric, has an over-sized hood and long sleeves. When I tried it on, I noticed that the bottom fabric crossed and rises up just a bit at the hem just to make it look a little more interesting. This falls just above my knees, which is the perfect length for me! It's loose-fitting, but not overly-so. Absolutely loooove this, although I do wish that maybe I got this in the Spring rather than right before Winter!
VERDICT: KEEP
Overall Thoughts
Since I signed up right before the price increase, I'm actually quite happy with the 3 items I got this month for $40. Since I'm keeping everything this month, I will be getting my credit on next months box which rarely happens for me since I'm so picky! This is the first Intimates box that I've decided to keep everything, and if the thong wasn't only valued at $7.27 I may have considered returning it. It's not bad or anything, I just don't think it fits my style and I think it's just average quality overall.
Having said that, I'm really happy with the other two items. They're things I would purchase for myself at the store if I saw them, and they are both really nice quality. I do recall Wantable saying that the collections would be "curated" better except I don't think these items go together at all in my case. They're all pretty mismatching, actually. I'm still happy with them separately but they wouldn't work together at all.
Happy that I signed up for this service again, regardless, and I'm excited for next month!

  1. I know this is a super late comment, I rarely have a minute to go online, but did you find the top crazy snug? I'm not a tiny girl by any means but an XL top, especially something claiming to be oversized, is usually more than sufficient. I ended up gifting mine to someone that is fit and wears a size medium and it was perfect, fit as it should. Wanted to love it, crazy disappointed it didn't fit. Curious if others had a similar issue.

    1. I did find it a little bit snug in certain areas and loose in others- it's a bit weird-fitting. I am losing weight pretty consistently though so I am hoping it will loosen up a bit and feel better because it fits OK in most spots, but around the tummy area it's a little snug. Definitely a weird fit!
