Beauteque Monthly BB Bag December 2015 Review and Unboxing

I always feel a little guilty in December when I see packages for me in the mail that aren't Christmas gifts for other people. Mostly because I feel like I'll be getting lots of gifts from friends and family, and maybe I should take a break from subscriptions, but you know me- I cannot resist kbeauty. I just can't! I have more Korean skincare than I could possibly use. I give it away by the bag full to friends and family and yet I'm always eagerly awaiting my kbeauty subscriptions every month. It's a sickness! The December BB Bag actually arrived a few days earlier than it usually does, which seems to be a trend with subscriptions this month. I'm really happy about that though, because it means I won't have to scramble to get reviews up at the end of the month when I'm busy with holiday activities!

December's Theme:
Dazzling December- An Array of Delectable Delights
We again wrap up another year, and while the excitement of a new one lies before us, we wish to reflect on the past with one of our most unique assortments yet! Take a moment during these times of celebration to celebrate yourself. Nail polish, hair products, makeup and more await you to transport you seamlessly and flawlessly to a new year- full of possibility.
The bag this month is a champagne satin-like fabric. It's actually a cute bag for this time of year- Christmas/New Years. I have more makeup bags than I know what to do with so this will go in the giveaway bag, although I think it's appropriate for the season!

Now that we've got the details out of the way, let's get onto the December Bag!

Scinic: Pig Collagen Jelly Cream ($17.90)
Hello cute packaging! Oh man just throw a cute piggie face on something and you've immediately made me happy. I'm not that hard to please, I guess! This cream is rich with collagen that plumps the skin with heavy moisturizing effects while firming and reducing the appearance of wrinkles. This particular cream doesn't contain any artificial colors, parabens, mineral oils, petroleum, BHA, TEA or talc. I have seen a lot of Scinic products popping up in the Beauteque bags and on their store but I haven't tried anything from the brand yet. I'm happy to get a full size product to try, although I have to admit while I'll slather almost anything on my face, something about pig collagen weirds me out a little. I have still used it bunches of times, but it also seems to make me break out. I'm not sure if it's just the cream I used in the past that broke me out or if it's pig collagen products in general though, so I think I might give this one a shot. It seems like a great cream for this time of year!

Ladykin: Elmaju Broccoli Super Brightening Cream ($15)
Hmm...another cream? I'm not totally sure why they would include two creams but regardless of the sort of odd curation, I'm totally fine with this choice because Ladykin is one of my all-time favorite kbeauty brands. They do not get enough love and attention from the kbeauty community in my opinion! The broccoli line is especially amazing. The toner and the serum are fantastic and smell amazing! This cream is used to brighten and even the complexion while giving the skin deep moisturization benefits. It contains broccoli extract and blueberry fruit extract which help reduce the loss of moisture by drawing in and absorbing moisture from the air- similar to how hyaluronic acid works. I have owned this cream in the past and I loved it, so I'm really happy to have another!

Beauteque: Rainbow Brush ($10.99)
Most of you already know my thoughts on the beauty tools that Beauteque includes in the BB Bags. If they're branded products from kbeauty companies, or if they're useful to use with something in the bag then I'm fine with them. I liked the Tonymoly cotton candy cotton balls we got a while ago, and I also liked the mixing bowl and spatula for mixing powder masks. I like tools that I think are valuable or useful. Even if it's a box of cotton rounds! This is fun-looking, colorful brush that apparently increases volume in the hair while de-tangling. It has a mirror on the back and is relatively compact while still having a substantial amount of bristles. I actually used this brush today and it's alright. I didn't see any noticeable different in volume, but it detangled well enough. It's...a brush? I don't know...I can't get excited about tools usually. Blah.

A'Pieu: Smell Out Hair Mist ($13.99)
Subscribers either received the Fruity Girl Hair mist, or a Somang Keratin Silk Hair Essence. I can't lie- I wish I got the hair essence. I use them right out of the shower to seal the hair cuticle and help with split ends while also protecting my hair when I heat style. A hair mist is, well, perfume for your hair. I've had hair mists before and I've always given them away, although I think I might keep this one. I got a small travel size hair mist from Fekkai and it came in handy when I was leaving a bar and I smelled like food and smoke, or if I was going a day without washing my hair and still wanted it to smell freshly washed/clean. This one has a light fruity scent which I like a lot, so hey- maybe I'll become a fan of hair mists after all!

Urban Dollkiss: Black Devil Nail Polish ($6)
While this might look like a Halloween line from Urban Dollkiss, this polish is actually part of a permanent larger line of cosmetics. I know this because I spent a lot of time drooling over the goth girl packaging of the various products on TesterKorea's site months ago. I even picked up 3 of these polishes in varying shades because they were just too cute to pass up. It seems like subscribers were sent a random color and I received a nude shade. I feel like most people might be disappointed with that, but I've recently grown to really like nude polishes on my nails. With some simple gold rings, it actually looks really chic! The formula of this polish is actually pretty decent application-wise. You only need two coats for full coverage. I highly suggest using a top coat with these though as they can definitely chip sooner than I'd like.

Tonymoly: Easy Touch Lip Liner in "02" ($8)
Did we get this lip liner in a past BB bag? Maybe a different kbeauty subscription? For some reason I had the feeling I had received it before and sure enough: I checked my makeup drawer and I not only had one of these liners, I had the exact same shade. I'll have to go back in my reviews and see if I can figure out where it came from. Regardless, this shade is actually really wearable and versatile. It's not quite pink, not quite red. Not really dark, but not light either. Honestly it works for a lot of different shades of lipstick. I also like that these liners come with a lip brush on the other end. I probably don't need two of these, but since they go well with so many lipsticks I'll probably keep this one too.
Overall Thoughts
Beauteque Monthly costs $24 (plus shipping) and this bag as a Beauteque Value of about $72.
While this is on the higher end of the spectrum in terms of prices, Beauteque is getting much better at reporting reasonable values for the products in the bags. It was a problem in the past that many of their prices were extremely over stated, so I'm quite happy to see that they listened to their subscribers and have since been much more careful with values. Realistically speaking, I'd say as usual, the value of this bag is probably closer to about $55. As usual, I'm still very pleased with the value of the BB bag. Even though there were two creams included this month, they both have different purposes, so I'm fine with it. I would have liked to see one of them be a different skincare product though since the rest of the items were cosmetics, but I'm happy to see two full size creams regardless. I go though creams like water in the Winter!
