Snack Fever: Korean Snacking Made Simple December 2015 Review and Unboxing

Snack Fever has very quickly become a must-have in my life. I have always subscribed to snack boxes, only to quickly become tired of the selection or just bored of what they offer in general. I take a lunch to work every day of the week, and I'm always looking for new and interesting snacks to bring along. Plus, the kids I work with love to test out all the snacks with me! I feel like every month I get this box I'm discovering new things I love, and that's what makes it so worth it for me! As if I didn't love enough about Korean culture, they've now got me hooked on their snacks!
The Deets
Snack Fever is a snack subscription based out of L.A. that sends you a box full of really unique and interesting Korean snacks. They don't stop at cookies and chips though- they send soups, ramyun, drinks, candy and more!

Box Options and Prices
Snack Fever offers 2 different sized boxes:

The Original Box ($20 or less)
10+ Snacks in Every Box (there were 14 this month!)
Mini Box ( $12 or less)
5+ Snacks in Every Box

Snack Fever also offers 3 and 6 month pre-paid subscription plans that are discounted, so the more you buy in advance, the more you save!

Snack Fever offers free shipping to all 50 US States and Puerto Rico. Snack Fever will happily ship outside of these areas for an additional fee.
Snack Fever also includes a color photo info card that gives you a description of each snack so you're not going in totally blind...unless you want to! It's fun to do it that way sometimes!
I apologize in advance, during the crazy Christmas hustle and bustle I somehow misplaced the info card for this box and I can't seem to find a review of the December box that I can snag the names of these snacks from- so I'm going to try my best to explain what they are without having a name!
 Paido Kokomen Spicy Chicken Ramen
Snack Fever has been really great at including a new and different Ramen in every box. I know a lot of people immediately say to me, "ugh ramen? That stuff is so bad for you!" But guess what? There's so many ways to eat ramen, and it's no better or worse than a can of soup or bowl of pasta! In many cases, I top my Ramen with lots of healthy veggies! A little tip- I make my ramen exactly the way they say to on the package and then let the noodles sit in the broth for a minute or two. Then...I completely drain the broth. Yup. All of it. Because that's where all the sodium is! I toss the noodles into a bowl and sometimes I add sriracha or a dash of a different type of sauce. Then I top it with slices of egg, avocado, green onions, mushrooms, peppers...whatever you can possibly think of! It's such a versatile food that gets a bad reputation!

Honey Tong Tong Chips
Since Honey-flavored snacks are absolutely huge in Korea right now, we've been getting a heaping helping of them in Snack Fever boxes. These ones are triangular potato chips that are puffed. They have pretty much the same flavor as every other honey chip I've tried. Not bad- but really sweet so I can't eat a lot of them at once. I suppose that's a good thing, though!
Snack Fever didn't include just one of these flaky apple pastries, but three! I thought these were so stinkin' delicious! They're made of a flaky puff pastry and have an apple filling placed on top. They're relatively small- I'd say each "bar" has 2-3 bites, but they are so good you're going to have to stop yourself from eating them all at once!

I don't really eat candy unless it's chocolate, so these were given to my fiance. I know they were fruit flavored, but I can't say much more than that on them, unfortunately!
 Poteau Cheese Cracker
Another item that Snack Fever gave us 2 of! These are essentially Ritz cracker sandwiches. The only difference is that the cheese inside these is lighter and fluffier. I actually kind of prefer these to Ritz, but there's nothing really special about them, unfortunately.

Premium Ghana Cocoa Butter Pie
I could hug every single person at Snack Fever for including 2 of these in the box this month. This is sort of like a moon pie or the "choco pies" that you might be familar with except with something slightly different. The "marshmallow" interior layer is actually chocolate-flavored, and the chocolate on the outside is made with real cocoa butter. It's light, but decadent at the same time. It took everything in me not to eat both of them in one sitting. I was about to fail, so I gave my roommate the other one and told him to eat it as quickly as he could and save me from it's chocolatey goodness.
 Cheese and Choco-Pick
I don't know what the obsession with cheese and chocolate is, but this is not the first time I've seen this combination. Nothing about that sounds appealing to me. The idea behind these is that they are cheese cracker sticks (sort of like Pocky sticks) and there is white and milk chocolate cups inside that you can dip them in. Think of it as make-your-own-pocky. Luckily, the "cheese" sticks have the same kind of flavor as plain pocky or pepero does. These were actually better than I expected!

Crunch Crunch Pear Juice
I like pears, but I find their flavor is a little on the bland side so I never thought of what pear juice would taste like. This is a little can, which is perfect for me to toss in my lunch bag. This juice tastes very natural in the sense that it's not overly sweet at all. It's an extremely mild pear flavor- almost like pear flavored water. I really liked it, but if you're someone who likes a strong flavor this one might not be for you.
The green box contained one of my favorite snacks in the box. These are basically little bite sized cookie/crackers that are filled with a solid chocolate. It almost tasted like cereal! These were super addicting and I liked them enough to keep an eye out for them next time I'm at H Mart!

Finally, we have a pretty generous box of belgian waffles. There are two packages in this box and each package had a few waffles inside. These were thick and had a bit of a honey flavor. Very delicious and satisfying!
Overall Thoughts
Compared to the October box, this things was JAM packed with snacks! Seriously there are 15 separate treats here and a variety of 10 different products and I only paid $19 for this box (I have a 3 month sub so I save $1 on each box.)
There has yet to be a month where I am disappointed with Snack Fever. They always pack their boxes to the absolute brim. It's to the point where I can never fit everything back IN the box once I've taken it out. They don't skimp at all and always make sure to include more than one of something if it's possible. It makes it really easy to share this with friends, a spouse or with kids. I love how much fun it is to test everything out every month! Another fantastic box!
