A.True Sweet Song Black Tea One-Step Cleansing Water Review

I rarely get a chance to try many new kbeauty products that peak my interest. You'd think that as a blogger, I'd be buying up everything that caught my eye. Unfortunately what ends up happening is I amass a huge stockpile of skincare products through subscriptions etc, and keep telling myself I have to use those things first before I try any of the new and exciting pretties that I see while browsing websites. It's always kind of a bummer because I'm always interested in certain brands or new products being released and want to test and share my thoughts with you guys! So when Cupidrop contacted me to do a couple reviews for them, I was over-the-moon! While most companies that have contacted me want me to review very specific products (I usually turn them down unless they're something I think you guys would be interested in) Cupidrop allowed me to choose the items myself. I was so insanely happy about that because I really wanted to choose a product from a brand some of us may have heard about already but haven't had much experience with (this review), as well as a new-to-me brand that featured a product I didn't already have a million of!

Cupidrop website is really unique in that they have a nice variety of brands that aren't easily available in other places. Not only that, but it's very clean and organized, has lots of information on the products along with a detailed description, ingredients, and sometimes even pH levels are listed! There are also reviews from customers that make decision-making a bit easier. Cupidrop is based in the US (out of New York!) so there's also the added benefit of not having to wait ages for your products to ship direct from Korea!

I'm pretty picky about Korean Beauty websites, but I've been really impressed with the interactions I've had with Cupidrop and how passionate they are about Korean skincare and beauty. I highly recommend checking out their site for some interesting and unique brands and products as well as great service!

The first product I decided I must test out was the A.True Sweet Song Black Tea One-Step Cleansing Water. I've been on a cleansing water kick lately, and that's solely because I am the laziest person on the planet. If I don't have to wash my face at a sink, I won't. I will say that my choice to use a combination of a cleansing wipe and a cleansing water may not be the best long-term cleansing solution, but it really works in a pinch or when you just want to do your skincare in bed after a long day!

A.True is a brand that I was originally introduced to through a long-ago Memebox, and I was immediately drawn to their sleek packaging and "tea" themed products. I was thrilled to see that Cupidrop carried a nice variety of products from their line as well.

Results and Thoughts
I've been using this cleansing water for a little over 2 weeks now so I feel like I have a pretty good idea of how it works compared to the others I've tried!
First impressions were impressive. The bottle is very large and you only need a small amount to saturate about half of a cotton pad which will take care of your whole face. The scent is extremely subtle. I can only smell it when I sniff directly from the bottle. It's undetectable/non-existent as I apply it to my skin. Fragrance is listed in the ingredients, but it's very, very minimal, so don't let it deter you if your sensitive to strong scented skincare.

As you can see from above, there really isn't any red flags in the ingredients list either, which is just awesome. I didn't feel weary slathering this on my face right off the bat rather than spot testing. I probably should spot test regardless, but hey- I'm a rebel.
I didn't attempt to use this to remove eye makeup, as the case with most cleansing waters is that they're not intense enough to get stubborn mascara off my lashes. I simply use a quick makeup remover on my eyes first. Having said that, I did try using it to remove my eye shadow and eyeliner, which it did without a problem. Yay!

I tried using this cleansing water in two different ways. First, I used it on it's own and removed my makeup. I found that it did a good job getting the majority of the BB cream off my face with little to no "scrubbing" or firm wiping. Simply gliding the saturated cotton pad over my face was enough to clean up well.

Even though that worked out nicely, I usually "double cleanse" even when I'm being lazy. I start with a cleansing wipe and then immediately after, use a cleansing water to remove the excess dirt, makeup and oil that the wipe didn't pick up. Let's just say I stopped using the wipes I had at the time, because the A.True cleansing water picked up THIS much...and this was after I had already used a cleansing wipe:
Camellia Sinensis Leaf Water(258,426mg), PEG-6 Caprylic/Capric Glycerides, Glycerin, 1,2-Hexanediol, Panthenol, Salix nigra (Willow) Bark Extract, Vaccinium Myrtillus Fruit Extract, Saccharum Officinarum (Sugar Cane) Extract, **Verbena Officinalis Leaf Extract(17.2458mg), Citrus Aurantium Dulcis (Orange) Fruit Extract, Citrus Limon (Lemon) Fruit Extract, Butylene Glycol, Acer Saccharum (Sugar Maple) Extract, **Citrus Aurantium Dulcis (Orange) Flower Extract(2.613mg), Water, Disodium EDTA, Fragrance - See more at: http://www.cupidrop.com/collections/a-true/products/sweet-song-black-tea-one-step-cleansing-water#sthash.XFIb3fYN.dpuf
So this is obviously a combination of me using a cleansing wipe that does a poor job, but it also goes to show how much this cleansing water really cleans! I was really impressed with how much makeup this cleansing water removed even after I had used a cleansing wipe. I confirmed how well this worked by using it a second time with a fresh cotton pad and saw little to no residue or makeup the second time around.
Overall Thoughts
I compared the A.True Cleansing Water to a few others I had in my collection and I found that it hands-down is the best for a variety of reasons. I feel like I need to use less product, it removes more debris and makeup, it has the least strong scent and has not irritated my skin or caused any breakouts whatsoever. I'm very impressed with this product and I'm so in love with it at this point that it'll definitely be an item I continue to repurchase! If you're in the market for a cleansing water, this one absolutely has my full stamp of approval!
